Sofra Kebab House, Plano TX

All you can eat buffet. Price includes choice of one freshly grilled kebab of either chicken or beef, both of which are delicious, plus fresh hot homemade bread. The chicken kebab was my favorite for exquisite taste and tenderness (secret recipe). That’s on top of multiple hot and cold items from the buffet, including soups, salad items, dips, different meats, vegetables, rice, potatoes etc, desserts and basic drinks. Add to that personal attention from the owner, Ray, whose cooking saved my life when my wife was out of town for an extended period!

I've never been fond of buffets that have 100 bland items that lack flavor and spice. That is absolutely NOT the case here as this buffet is the perfect size, the kebabs and pita are made upon your arrival (definitely worth the wait) and the items are all warm and very flavorful. You can tell that the owner cares about the food he serves his patrons.

Ray is a kind-hearted gentleman that was very welcoming and the lamb stew over rice was my favorite dish.

This is my new favorite Mediterranean/Turkish buffet.

Food was very good! The buffet is all day long for one price. There wasn’t much variety but the taste and quality was very good. One freshly made kebab per person with a choice of chicken or beef, and the owner even let us take home the pieces we couldn’t finish. Will definitely come here again.

This place is an absolute gem I'm from Europe where there is a bigger Turkish community and i have been exposed to some the best Turkish cuisine on offer. I'm glad to say that Sofra is right up there with the best its my most favorite Turkish/Mediterranean food establishment and reminds me of a place in London that is one of the best eateries in the city without question as soon as you enter the place you are greeted with a big smile from the owner Ray who is an excellent host and makes you feel right at home. Especially for those who may never have had Turkish Mediterranean food he goes out of his way to explain the beautiful selection on offer and lets even the newest to this cuisine feel confident and excited to tuck in. An once you tuck into the food its a dream. I spoke to Ray about this consistency of his food and its one of the important hallmarks of this place that keeps me coming back the consistency of the food and Rays instance on making it to a high standard which sets this place apart. This is a very boutique kind of establishment. If you know what you’re getting or know what to expect in a kebab House, or Middle Eastern cuisine then you will probably be very pleased.

RAY runs a good establishment and he keeps it clean. I have never been disappointed and always pleased to see his smiling face as a guide you to your table.

The kebabs are generally exceptional. Not run-of-the-mill meat on a stick but real quality meat that has been properly prepared and served. Very flavorful and an excellent experience.

I like this place a lot.

I would have added pictures but I eat the food soon as it comes out because it is so good. I will try to exercise self-control next time

This is the best halal restaurants on DFW, The owner is the one who handle the place and take care at all times.he is very respectful man great hospitality every time we visit additional to that first thing you will notes when you visit is fresh & delicious food all the time we visit OMG and place smell great, BTW with crazy inflation the prices is very reasonable. I wish I can give 10 millions stars. I do highly recommend. I did share this place with everyone I know. Usually I do not do rate for any please I visit. But for this remarkable place I have to do that. Thank you Sofra Kebab House.

Owner is a one man army that operates the place single handed. He is the hostess that will greet and seat you, he cleans up, he servers and he cooks. Based on the setup and operation the food is between good and not bad. His hospitality is great but why the missing star … cause I was in here with my two kids and one is a two year old that was eating his own Cheeto’s and the other had the buffet who is an eight year old. I was charged for both of them why the sign at the store mentions a discounted rate for 3-11 year old … free for under 3 and adult rate was what it was.
I was charged for three adults and one child normal rate when it should have been free for one child who did not eat the buffet and the other charge should have been for a child rate between between the age limit.
That normally does not happen with me but I was never presented a bill before paying cause he asked that I come up to the counter pay. Now it’s also my fault I agree that I should have asked for a breakdown but his hospitality was the thing that got me blinded and I just trusted him (he’s not doing this intentionally as I believe he is overwhelmed and didn’t realize). The receipt is emailed to you and I only saw it until I got back home. Overall good food and service. Please do not take this as a negative review for him or his restaurant. Good hospitality, service and food is hard to find these days at small business restaurants and this man does it all by himself

This little hidden gem right here was fantastic. Chef Ray was incredibly hospitable and the food was amazing. Hot, fresh, and an authenticity that I'm glad I found. Will definitely come back

Very filling and delicious. A smaller buffet bar all you can eat and it's definitely worth it. The gentleman was over the top nice and was happy to explain his whole bar to insure we knew what everything was. Definitely worth coming and at least trying!

Tasty Turkish food and a clean/quite dinning area.
Owner is very friendly and was pleasure to meet him.
Missing one star only because of the price, a little bit on the high side, but food was very good.
Over all, we will be back in the future to Sofra

I like this place very much. You get a portion of kebab, hot foods bar and salad bar and fresh pita bread for a very reasonable flat fee. The owner who is also the chef is very friendly. Great place to take your laptop and work in a quiet place with good food; that's what I do frequently.

The owner was most kind. The food was enjoyable if one is feeling a bit adventurous. Seasoned well, and quite a task to try it all. Avoid the brown balls with lighter inside. I really loved the grape leaves!

While an unassuming place from the outside, the food, atmosphere, and staff (literally a single man during my visit) were all impeccable. I tried nearly everything in the buffet and I can't find anything bad to say. Buffet food had fantastic flavor and the cooked-to-order kebobs were excellent. What's even more amazing was that the entire place was ran by what I presume is the owner, who was very nice and informative. Definitely recommend!

I had a wonderful timing eating here. The owner is always so nice and the food is delicious. I particularly liked the garbanzo beans, tabbouleh, falafel, hummus and the beef kabobs. All these, plus dessert could be had for a price under $20, simply fantastic. This is a neighborhood gem.

Literally the nastiest place I’ve ever been too. The buffet was so gross. The food was cold, falafel was hard as a rock, and beef kabob was bland/tough. The owner didn’t even ask if we liked the food probably because he knows it’s the worst food ever and doesn’t replace the food from when the buffet opens unless he needs to refill. Garage and disgusting place. Don’t know how they are still in business. One plate/trip to the buffet was enough for my party and I. Left hungry because this food was inedible. DON’T COME HERE!
