Solar Nail Spa, Gainesville TX

My nails weren't what I expected. They charged $70 for my daughters nails. Said the acrylics were 40 and for nail shape and length it was 30. I think that's a bit much. I've been going here for years but I won't go back.

This place used to be a good, affordable salon to get a good set and/or pedi. But I recently went a couple of weeks ago and was really surprised by how rushed I felt, even though it wasn’t busy. The prices SKYROCKETED and the quality of work doesn’t match the price. I’m not sure if new management took over or if they got all new staff? But it’s definitely not as good

I went in to get a full set. When I asked for straight tip the lady got up walked away and refused to do my nails. The man that came up to take her place had an attitude and did my nails so ugly I asked for coffin shape and they are clearly not. Very poor customer service. Rude and ugly employees.

Hands down the best nail salon in Gainesville! Everyone is very friendly and accommodating. I would recommend to anyone!

My manicure technician was Jamie and she did the best job on my nails that I have ever received! She helped me choose the right colors and really did a great job. I didn’t get the name of my pedicure technician but she was amazing too. Both girls were very friendly and ask me several times if the shape, color, design, or anything in general was good. And the nail designer free handed a perfect palm tree. Overall, it was a great experience and I will definitely go again!
Update: Went again for Christmas nails and I am even happier than last time!
Update 2: Jasmine was my technician this time and gave me a beautiful multi blue color ocean set!
As per usual, I love this place and for all but two of these sets I had Jamie as my technician and you all know I love my girl because she knows I am OCD about my nails.

Im Not really the type to leave a bad review but not even a week with my nails and had three broken.
Great customer service though

Every experience has been phenomenal. Even when they're busy they make sure customer service is top tier. We always feel welcome and they always take really good care of my special needs sister. They treat her like a queen and because of that we'll only come here.

Depends on the nail tech. I have had good and bad experiences. Most of the time they do a great job. I usually don't wait with an appointment. One of the best places to go on Gainesville.

Walked in and immediately given a chair. Lisa did an amazing job and the price for a pedicures was nice. One of the best I’ve had in a long time. I will be back.

Waited over an hour for them to start. I reminded 3 ppl and the owner numerous times that my 4 yr old had picked out a color and was supposed to get her nails painted. They kept ignoring me. 2 hours later they still had not done her toes which she was so excited for. When the lady doing my nails reminded the owner or manager she sighed loud almost rolled her eyes. I left with a very sad little girl who didn’t get her nails done and will never be back again.

I went here for the first time with two of my friends since the place we normally go to wasn’t open. When we arrived it was busy, which we were ok with since it was the weekend. We waited about an hour for our service to start. Once started, it felt like we were being rushed in our service. My partners cuticles we’re not fully done, my nails were filed uneven and not even the same shapes. The pedicures were mostly fine but felt extremely rushed. I had to do touch ups on myself and my partner when we returned home. All of us were disappointed with our experience, especially since it was our first time. It was extremely loud and difficult to hear even sitting next to one another. I really did want to enjoy this place since it looked nice but the fact we were rushed made us feel like we were not getting what we paid for entirely and were unhappy with some of the issues (uneven, not fully done cuticles, etc.) We will not be coming back.

TEC would not listen to how I wanted nails. Ive been going there for two yrs. When I ask for my regular person they just say busy busy. You are about loose customer!

I’ve been going here for about a year and they always do good work. The only reason it isn’t 5 stars is because they absolutely do not take their appointment book seriously, I make appointments every time I come and regularly get the since I’ve caught them off guard when I come and get seen 20-30 minutes after my appointment.

Best place in Cooke county. Been to Sherman and Denton this place is better. All the staff is welcoming and professional.

I had been going to solar for a while
The last time I went the guy who did my toes literally didn’t make sure there was no bubbles that pedicure did not even last a week.my last experience I had my own nail art and was still charged so much for nail art and I was seated on a normal seat before they said something then I was moved to the end of the pedicure sears where there was a bunch of stacked up chairs.never going back again I felt segregated

They were super busy & got my daughter & I in and we were there even past closing time. I got one of the best hot rock massages I have ever had. I was disappointed in what my daughter got though which was no much of anything. I think a tech problem not the business.

Over all good experience, and I will go back. I had an appt, but I was late, they still got me in fairly quick. They changed people on me mid-service, though, and the 2nd lady wasn't as detail oriented as the first. I had to point out areas in the nails that were not covered by the acrylic, they're pretty thick and a couple are uneven/bumpy. No one offered names so I'm not even sure who to ask for next time, or who to avoid, but I will go back.

I asked for my nails designed a certain way. They did not deliver on this request. There was a severe communication issue with the nail tech. My nail designs were not aligned and looked crooked to all that viewed them. I asked the salon for a refund and did not hear anything initially.so I submitted a refund request to my bank. After the fact the salon reached out to me and offered half back. I accepted. However almost a month later my bank sent a letter about this refund and the salon called and harassed my husband for the refund they gave us to be returned. He did it in kind. After all was said and done. They did not refund me one dime. And my nails were trash.
