Soma Sushi reviews
25 If you haven’t had the sushi here, you are missing out!
The food here is always so fresh and good! Especially their creamy mermaid sushi rolls! MOST POPULAR ️
Our service was okay; the lady had a bit of a attitude but out of my many many other times eating here it’s always been amazing.
Highly highly highly recommend coming to eat here if you enjoy fresh, good sushi.
Ambiance would have been nice but they stuck us upstairs staring at an ugly wall.
Service lacked personality & interest on the part of the server. Also, when we were about to stand up to leave the waitress started grabbing our plates to clean the table before we had actually left the table.
This is very rude & I know she didn't mean to be but this needs to be addressed as It's not something that should be tolerated at any restaurant, much less Soma.
The spicy Yuzu Tuna roll was the star of the night: Fresh, complex & the spice lingered just enough without being overbearing.
The 'God' roll would have been amazing IF they added crunch & the lemon didn't get overwhelmed.
My favorite sushi bar, great bartenders, atmosphere, and sushi rolls, and everything on the menu is
I ordered the Texas Ramen and the Texas Wagyu Short Ribs. The food was good however I took away a star for a few reasons: the short ribs weren’t really short ribs but more so cubes of meat. For 12 bucks I received 5 small cubes of Wagyu. Also, I asked for beef with the ramen instead of pork belly and the beef was unappealing. The ramen was better without it. Overall I’d try Soma Sushi again
I will be going back.
The food was amazing and the chef recommendations were perfect.
The tuna and goat cheese was delicious and the gallardo roll was so good it didn't need wasbi or soy sauce.
The Chef's Choice Omakase was the best sushi I've ever had.
Not to be outdone, the pastry chef's vanilla creme brulee was the perfect ending to this meal.
It's great, fish is fresh and alcohol selection is plentiful.
Their bar pricing is typical of restaurants with a relatively large markup compared to retail. I think I'm just spoiled with restaurants that have started to serve good wine at a reasonable price.
The service has always been excellent. The atmosphere is modern, chic, and pleasant. The food is even more delicious. My favorite spot for sushi in Houston.
Love their happy hour between 5-7pm. Modern interiors and good mixture of rolls, maki, and others (okonomiyaki, gyoza, etc.)
Great Happy Hour! The wine was delicious and the sushi was great, better than expected! I went with my mom for lunch here and we ordered about 3 different types of sushi for happy hour and red wine. Each plate was approximately between $6 to $8. The place has very nice decor and a bar.
Try the gourmet or specialty sushi. It's literally melt in your mouth. And I live by the coast! Great sushi in Houston. Surprisingly impressed
Not bad. 3 stars is good. Decor is nice, service ok. Waiter missed an item, a couple of other minors non service relevant. Could be a little better alround. Worth a visit to make your mind up.
Good nigiri. Special rolls were unique and tasty however regular rolls were good not great. The nigiri was great and the special seared scallop with quail egg nigiri was absolutely phenomenal. Service was excellent and ambiance was good. Overall great sushi experience with a not bad price. Definitely worth a try and a good date night.
Soma has always been one of our favorite go-to sushi restaurants in Houston. Great service, and the apps, sushi rolls, and cocktails are always awesome.
Really great food, and no complaints on the service. Love the decor and vibe, too. The prices are a little steep, so for people like me this is more of a special occasion kind of restaurant than a go-to sushi spot.
Special Place to Dine-In - The food, location, excellent customer service and a very special admisfere.
I cannot say how much I absolutely love this place! Perfect for date night, I love the texas ramen! We've tried all of their signature sushi rolls, great fresh food. Must try the God made man roll & the crazy Irish!
Excellent and reasonable. Too bad I live 40 miles away. Otherwise id be here all the time. The peppercorn tuna is wonderful!
Food, service & ambiance were up to our expectations. But, the Hostess was less than friendly & we were seated beside a noisy table. The non-substantive chatter went on & their language peppered with unthoughtful
adjectives (or french?).
Will be back but ask for a quiet corner to imbibe on food, conversation & wine. Cheers!
Love this place! Husband and I ate here again a few nights ago and we were waited by a young man named, Phum (hope that's right). He was great and explained a few things from the menu to us and gave us a quick brief lesson on some fish.very interesting and exciting! We do love sushi and Uni & Torro. Uni shooters were amazing! Thank you all and compliments to the chefs for making and prepping our food.soup was delicious!
Have always taken special people here because it is such a great experience! Personally I love all their Texas ramen, but they have all kinds of other things it's not just Sushi give it a try
