Sonesta Bee Cave Austin Hotel

The location is great. The rooms were great. Well maintained and the pool had guardrails to protect young guests. Plenty of parking spaces and they have additional spaces on an off-site parking location too (About 150 meters from the hotel). They also offer Electric cars charging stations in their underground parking.

The only setback is Options for food and beverages. The hotel clearly mentions that they do not offer breakfast but during my stay, mid-week, they changed their policies about complimentary coffee! Which is very weird since all the hotels that I have stayed in the past (in TX, NY, CA.) have always offered breakfast and coffee.
The staff was not cooperative as he could only repeat "Sorry, Management decided to change the policy".

If morning breakfast and non-cooperative hotel staff are not a great concern for you, this is a great hotel!

Check in snafu kept my co-workers in the lobby instead of their rooms. Then their room wasn’t clean when they finally got their key cards. Seriously?

For their breakfast, my co-worker’s muffin was dry. Their catered lunch was also subpar. How can a lime grilled chicken wrap have no taste? I was looking for a sauce.

A bright light was your security guy named David. He was so nice to fast track the morning coffee so that we could have some before we left for the airport at 4 am. Give the man a raise!

There are a number of things at this hotel that are not straight forward. There are essentially no extras either:

Parking is $19/night or so they tell you. Not bundled into that price is the $1.57/night parking tax that is not included. Additionally, it is not immediately apparent on their website or at booking that parking is an extra charge. For the area, there really is no decent reason to charge for parking in the first place. I surmise that this is essentially a rate increase under a different label.

Breakfast is not free, although their room card insert will lead you to believe it might be. Fine, that’s not a huge deal. Plenty of upscale hotels charge for breakfast. What is insulting however, is that their “grab and go” breakfast is not competitively priced or sufficiently tasty enough to persuade me to eat their fare considering the variety of options in the nearby Galleria.

Lastly, and probably the most infuriating, coffee is only available from 6-8am. I have never been to a hotel that is this stingy on coffee. Not in Frankfurt, Singapore, London, Seychelles, in other words, abroad or anywhere in the US either.

All in all, this is a failure in expectation management. Just raise the rate and include the above. Nickeling and diming upsets the customer on principle.

Your staff was phenomenal. I called twice to see about different things related to the reservation and they handled it with easy. Extremely professional and delightful to deal with. This had to be the quietest hotel I ever stayed in. The only negative is the small pool. If there was 10-12 people it would be crowded. Also breakfast option. Minor complaint compared to how phenomenal their staff is. If near the Austin area it’s a must stay, plenty of restaurants in the area.

I had a travel change that was out of my control. They were not able to change the dates (1 week later than my original booking). Lost 100% of what I paid. Unbelievable. Will never book with this brand again.

Fantastic hotel! I was recommended to the property, and I was not disapponted. Everything about the hotel surpassed expectation.cleanliness, location, staffing, etc.
A must do.have dinner and/or a drink on the top floor restaraunt! We will be back.

If you have kids this is a nice spot. I booked a few extra days for an add on to a work trip (to try and enjoy myself.) Ended up working all day/ night and not being able to take any time to myself.

BUT I did make a few trips down to the pool, really nice. 10/10 chillax area. Noticed a lot of other business travelers so don't think you'll be out of place if that's your purpose.

I also took a walk while on a conference call to the local mall it's pretty posh even by my "Yankee Suburbanite Chicago" standards. They have a "Whole Foods" in there if that's your jam.

Most people would just drive there, but its very walkable (if its not Texas midday heat. Staff was friendly and attentive. I'd probably book this if again if I didn't want to pay downtown ATX rates.

Please save your or your company’s money! The rooms are very tiny, in disrepair and no nicer than a Hampton for double the price. I asked my company not to book me here again. The rooftop bar is nice, which is the only positive feedback I have.

Beautiful hotel! The rooms are lovely, clean and comfortable and the staff are super helpful and friendly! Definitely recommend the roof top bar and restaurant for yummy snacks and cocktails:)

The most up class hotel in the Bee Caves, Lakeway area. Easy walking distance to the galleria mall with nice walking path around the mall property. Access to many nice restaurants and bars in walking distance. Also have a nice, top floor bar with outdoor seating and hill country views.

The Sonesta is a cute boutique styled hotel nestled in the heart of the Bee Cave Galleria. Great for a girls trip, shopping trip and great views. Close to so many places folks really like and very walkable.

Quiet, low-key, value stay within walking distance of several retail and restaurant options. Perfect facilities place for a small 1-2 day conference.

This Corporate Hotel definitely supports the local community. Last week during the ice storm I decided to stay at the hotel to be closer to my clinic. The galleria and the hotel lost power for 1 day. I got in touch with management and they willingly, no questions asked, comped out one night due to the power outage. I will be staying there in the future and will definitely have my friends/family stay at this fine establishment.

Nice hotel in Bee Cave, outside Austin. Convenient to shopping and restaurants within walking distance at mall.
