Loved living here at first but then my dog was attacked twice by people with pets off their leashes and they just sent out friendly reminders. And my vehicles were broken into twice in the same month. They didn’t notify residents of the break ins and all they said was “I’m sorry that happened to you”. They also told me I was the only one who was having my vehicle broken into but I met another resident who had the same thing happen to him with photos to prove it. I believe they didn’t tell anyone so they could keep up the appearance that it’s a safe place. Their gates are constantly breaking and they leave them open for people to come and go as they please. There’s no cameras in the parking lot either.
I informed them of my intent to vacate because I didn’t feel safe since one of the items stolen was a pistol (it was forgotten in the center console after a trip to the gun range). They seemed understanding in the office and said that they’d pro rate me for 30 days and said “it shouldn’t be difficult to leave an apartment especially under these circumstances” but then tried to hit me with thousands of dollars in fees.
This is by far the worst apartment I’ve ever lived in. They also take days to reply and when they do it’s 10 minutes before closing. I’m just happy to be out of there.

Update: South Bay sent me a lovely email about how they enjoyed having me as a resident at the apartments along with a bill for over $12,000. Fair warning that this apartment complex cares little for the safety of their residents or their pets. They don’t inform residents of a stolen firearm or the continued break ins of residents vehicles. They also don’t enforce any of their rules unless it’s to collect money. They don’t even try to find out who’s pet it was that attacked you. They just say “next time take pictures”. So be cautious if you choose to live here.

Great complex, with amazing amenities! Staff is amazing, and maintenance is great and always on time when needed! Would recommend over any complex in all of Corpus Christi area!

South Bay was first of many options here in the costal bend area. Staff and community are wonderful! Floor plans and amenities are great! 10/10 recommended. ️

I love these apartments and I would live there if I could but I don’t deserve it! I’m such a bad little boy! There was this one time I was stuck in a washer there and Mr. Izack was able to get me unstuck in no time! What’s crazy is I don’t even live there! 11/10 recommend! Great location in the city!

South Bay is such a great place to live! The staff in the front office are so helpful and nice. The maintenance team takes great care of the community. The amenities are always well kept and working. Loved my stay here.

South Bay, is one of the best apartments I have ever been too. The staff is super nice and helpful. I remember when I first went just to go look at apartments and they made sure that they answered every question I had. I love this place.

Such a beautiful place to live! Perfect location, very clean apartments! Pool is huge, bbq pit is also a great accommodation. Parking is easy, can get a garage as well. Staff is also very respondent for all of your needs! Would recommend this place 100 times!

Very nice and clean place to live, huge pool! Bbq pits, volleyball, gym, and corn hole all available for residents which is amazing! Maintenance is always very quick to respond and get things fixed! Which is awesome cause last place I was at was a nightmare. Management kinda takes awhile to get back to you on things and parking sucks only reason I didn’t put 5 stars overall amazing place to live though!

10/10 Would recommend. Beautiful scenery, Big spacious pool & the office staff is amazing. All my problems get taken care of in a timely manner. The maintenance crew are great at what they do! Especially Mr Izack! Very respectful & knowledgeable. Thank you for all you do!

I am loving this apartment complex! I enjoy the resident events that occur every month, the food trucks that come by and not to mention the transferring to a different unit process made easy! 10/10 recommend!

First I want to say that I lived here for 3 years with no problem, before Greystar bought the property. I loved it here, it was peaceful and quiet, and the management team who were here prior to this current management team were AWESOME…they were welcoming and whenever I had issues (such as the bird issue on my balcony) they quickly handled them.

My gripe with this new management team is that the current Apartment manager is extremely unprofessional. I’m currently in college.

One evening, I was studying with one of my classmates in the business office. I noticed the office was locked on the outside, and the main office was open during that time so I asked the attendant who was in the front office if the business office was closed.she said “no”. And I proceeded to tell her it was locked on the outside and asked if it was ok if myself and my classmate could use the room to study. She said it was no problem. So that was that. We ended up being locked in the business office by the attendant, with no way out, and were stuck in there for over an hour. We called the police, they couldn’t get us out since it was private property. And my husband continuously called the after hours number for the apartment.

My issue is that we were stuck in the business office for over an hour. It was HOW this issue was handled by the Apartment manager and her team. I was never reached out to for them to apologize to me about the inconvenience. When I called, I was understandably upset about the issue since we were locked in that hot room for over an hour. I spoke with the manager and instead of apologizing for the situation, she chose to be defensive and condescending, she wasn’t apologetic at all. I then went above her and contacted Greystar directly because I was PUT OFF by her UNPROFESSIONAL ATTITUDE. I finally contacted the property manager and she clearly spoke with the Apartment manager about the issue. She was professional, however, she apologized and told me why we were locked in the office in the first place.

But I STILL didn’t get an apology from the unprofessional, off-putting attitude of the Apartment manager. This happened almost a year ago, and has since out a bad taste in my mouth so much so that my husband and I decided to leave this complex. There have been other unfavorable incidents that’s happened since Greystar took over, and I believe I would not be the only unsatisfied tenant they‘ve had since taking over. I can’t wait to leave this place.

Absolutely loved living at South Bay! The staff was always above and beyond to me and the apartment itself, amenities, and community areas are all top notch!

The staff here is so helpful they truly go above and beyond! Marina and lindsy helped me with finding the perfect apartment here and Monique the assistant manager had so much patience with me on making online payments! Adella the community manager truly is the glue to it all by helping the process be as stress free as possible!

Amazing place to live! Fun and friendly office staff. The maintenance team is always willing to lend a helping hand, if your ever in the market for an apartment this is the place close to beach/shopping malls and TAMUCC!

The day-to-day of living here wasn't too bad and all the staff was super friendly, but we did have some issues while living here.

We had water damage in our apartment and three separate people came to look at the damage, but for a year and a half of living there no one ever fixed it. It was kinda just forgotten.

Two months in a row they tried to charge us for pet rent even though we didn't have any. It took them a while to come to our apartment to verify that there were no pets before removing the charge, and after repeated calls they finally came at the end of the work day when rent was due that day.

Its old so everything broke frequently. There are just as affordable but newer builds in the area.

This is more the area, not the complex but the power went out sooooo many times randomly when living here (not due to a storm). I’ve lived multiple other places and never experienced outages in such high frequency.

We got our own private renters insurance and they still charged us $11/month for their liability insurance, after repeatedly telling them to take it off our account.

Trash valet was $25/month and was often picked up earlier than the time they stated to us or didn’t get picked up altogether without notifying us of their absence.

For some reason our wifi would cut out frequently. It was frustrating since I worked from home.

We never had it happen to us, but a lot of cars did get broken into in this complex.

Once again, the overall experience here wasn't bad, but we've rented multiple other places with near to zero issues so living here was a bit frustrating at times.

I have never had an experience like this before the landscaping looks amazing the whenever u have a problem with maintenance it’s taken care of right away and the employees are welcoming and super attentive to the people
