South Llano River State Park Campground reviews
11Camp grounds were exactly as described. A great place to enjoy a night out under the stars. The restrooms were directly across from my camping area and they were clean as well as the two shower areas. The water was hot and perfect way to warm up after tent camping in 30° weather.
Nice state park with nice size rv camping areas with water and electric. Nice river access for kayaking and floating
The park was absolutely stunning. The campgrounds themselves were amazing with plenty of space between every available lot for privacy, or some space for games with the family. The park location makes it incredible for star gazing and astrophotography. The restrooms/showers were very very clean with good lighting at night around the building, and even a pathway leading up to the building. Then, probably everyone's favorite attraction, the river. The water temperature was amazing, and the views of the cliff faces and large rocky hills were just beautiful. Load up on sunscreen, and maybe take a spray bottle with you, but you'll absolutely love exploring the river by inner tubes, a bike, or just enjoying a hike. Also, the 10 p.m. Curfew on outdoor lighting and ambient noise was pretty great. Just an added bonus for finding some peace there in the park.
Camped: 8/12-8/13
So many stars.
Saw an armadillo!
Great for bird watching.
River is nice and cool.
Restrooms were stocked and clean.
Great destination with plenty of options for you to enjoy the great outdoors…biking and hiking trails with magnificent views and lots of shade. Oooh and don’t forget swimming and tubing on the Llano River…
This is an amazing campground. You can walk to the river and float in your own tubes or rent from the campground office. Facilities were nice enough, and each spot was spacious. We absolutely loved it.
Well, it's an RV site, so "quiet camping" is not in the cards. Several apparently need to carry motorcycles to get from sites to bathroom, and a few others like loud music. But we found an acceptable spot and enjoyed the evening. Lovely river.
Always a great place to camp. Was a bit disappointed with the service at the headquarters.
Very nice park like all Texas State parks.
One star for the dogs barking 24 hours a day by unrully dogs of newbie dog owners. It looks to me like new issue in State parks. So much for $500 fine for alchool consumption, when are we going to see fines for excessive dog barking?
We stayed in South Llano river state park in Junction TX.in our RV. This park is beautiful with so much wildlife to see all around.
The asphalt RV sites are back-in with water and electric service and a dump site in the park. Each site has a covered concrete slab where the picnic table is. The river is very close to fish and lots of hiking trails and a bird watching blind. We really enjoyed our one night and wish we would have planned on a longer stay! We recommend this place to anyone traveling in the area to stop and stay or just visit the parks day use area.
Super nice campground. Very clean campsites.clean showers and bathroom. Park ranger very nice and helpful. Short hikes to river access, pet friendly, ranger station sells ice and rents tubes for floating on river. Lots of trees.
