South Shore Harbour Resort and Conference Center reviews
14The Sip-n-Sail Cruise was fun we had Jim Beam, Wine, sprite, Coke and water with music. It was fun and they had a pole in the middle of the boat.
I recently had the privilege to stay at the South Shore Harbour Resort for NACAT, my company was an exhibitor. The rooms were extremely clean and comfortable. I slept so well! Everyone who I came in contact with had excellent customer service and made me feel like a regular guest. Candice and Michael who worked the front desk were exceptional! A+ customer service! They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the area!
A great location on Clear Lake, surrounded by piers with boats of all types and sizes. Short drive to Space Center Houston (NASA) across the lake. Lobby, halls were nice but the room and baths could use some light maintenance/touch ups/cleaning. Beds were firm (good for back sleepers) and pillows good. A/C worked well and filter and grilles were clean. Overall a good place to stay.
Did not stay in hotel. Very good hotel. Service n personnel were top notch. All doors into Restrooms should have accessibility auto open doors.
This place is tired. Needs to be updated. Pool is nice but also needs updating. Cabanas could be a big hit if the furniture was not worn out.
Excellent on all accounts. For the money and area, it is an amazing value. The pool is roomy, oasis is open till 7pm most days.
Was incorrectly charged a restaurant fee that even appeared differently that the approved charges at checkout. At checkout, I was told the charged would be taken off and my charges returned to my CC, that the manager was not in. 2 weeks later, 3 telephone calls and hours of waiting for a promised email of corrected charges, and nothing. Only getting voicemail when asking for a manager.
Tip, if this happens to you, be sure to resolve before you leave the hotel. I had a taxi waiting and 'no manager on site' to do this for me. AMEX dispute will likely take 6-8 weeks, so, not pleased with this at all.
This resort is very nice with great amenities. Convenient to great restaurants and such in the area. The rooms need updating including wet/molding tiles.
We recently docked our houseboat at South Shore Marina, and I was very impressed with the facilities and the staff. The boat slips are well-maintained and spacious.
Overall, I had a great experience at South Shore Marina. The facilities are excellent, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the location is perfect. I would highly recommend South Shore Marina to anyone looking for a marina on Clear Lake.
I liked the place but the landscaping around the pool needs lots of help. We went during the week so no bar open except at Opus, thar was disappointing.
Prices high on drinks.
Awsome customer service. Bartender at pool could b more personal, he didn't mingle, who wants to spend $35 on bucket of beer or $12 on a machine margaritas & watch them on their phone & talking to security that was on his phone & not pay attention to the customers there, you know. CONVERSATION! Didn't like leaving my driver license there when you can just run a card.
Guest ck in people great.pool not so much
Megan and Kingston who work at the hotel rock. We had problems with getting to the hotel and they made it so easy to refigure rooms and even got us a better rate for out stay. Very helpful staff. Beautiful views and conveniently located hotel. Would definitely stay again. Thanks Megan and Kingston for going above and beyond! Yall need a raise.
Had a great one night stay. The pool is amazing. The location and views of the water were great.
Breakfast was not tasty, and the options were very limited. We had free tickets for breakfast otherwise it would've been very pricy.
We came here for a mini family getaway. All the employees we encountered were pleasant. We enjoyed the pool area as well. The bathrooms could use a little updating, but that’s the only flaw. We definitely plan to stay here again!
This is not a resort. There is not a full service bar on the property. The wine selection is abysmal. A White Russian is out of the question- no cream stocked in the bars. The food was very good, but restaurants have limited hours. If you order food, the bartender has to leave to pick it up at the pool. Children were running in the bar and the hallway. Everything looks old and outdated. There was a tub/shower combination in the king room. I expected a walk-in shower at a resort. The bed was hard, the pillows small and lumpy. The bedding was a thin, flat spread meant to resemble a comforter, topped with a shiny coverlet. The room was 67 degrees and no matter how many times I set it on 72, it defaulted to 67 with a loud blower running constantly. Returning to our room at 10: 30 pm, I could not get warm. I called the front desk, they quickly sent a technician who turned on the heater and told me to let it run to warm up, then turn on the cool air at the temperature I want because it is a chiller, not an AC. I had tried all day to set the temperature and all I got was on/off and 67 degrees. I have lived in Texas most of my life, so I am familiar with AC and thermostats, but not the idiosyncrasies of this one. The technician agreed to set the thermostat for me and I was eventually hot and stayed that way all night. In the meantime, the couple next door started fighting, gradually getting louder until the woman started crying and I called the front desk. Security broke up the fight. They have rooms as cheap as $109 per night on third party websites, hence the clientele. I stayed at Comfort Suites while traveling a couple of weeks ago and it was much preferable to this, with the exception of the food. The bedding was luxurious in comparison. This was once a nice place. No more.
