South Side Music Hall reviews
18Another great venue space within Gilley's Dallas, really enjoyed all the concerts and spaces here, you can't go wrong with this venue!
I went here for a minion themed rave on Halloween. It was my very first rave and there were not too many people but I had a fantastic time and the staff were super nice and kind. I'll come back!
I went to see Bad Omens and I had the best experience ever at a concert. The band was absolutely amazing, but the staff at the venue really made the experience.
Great venue with pretty incredible audio and visual quality - hats off to the mixing team. Drinks are somewhat overpriced, which it’s not atypical for a venue to meet their margins with alcohol, but what stood out were the bartenders. Very attentive and top notch. Well done!
Super cute venue, I hadn’t been on this side of Dallas in years. The bar is nice the lady helped me out and made me a delicious drink cause I don’t drink often it is cold inside! Super glad I wore a long sleeve and a jacket So be sure to pack a sweater. Overall I will definitely be back c:
Concert Days aren't over when one of your fav artist shows up! This place is big and you'd think you'd get lost the second you arrive. Nope! Very easy to find and great entertainment
South Side Music Hall is a tiny room. It's standing room only and super packed, almost no where to escape the crowd from to breathe. I would've paid premium if they offered rail seats like the SS Ballroom. Won't be back.
Such an awesome place to have a concert! Great sound, atmosphere, cheap drinks and water, and to top it off, great security and staff available for any help needed. Thanks for the great show last night!
Social Dallas at South side Music was amazing. Spirit of God was all over it and lives were changed tonight.
A mid-sized space that sells tickets like it's an arena. Southside Music Hall is irresponsible with the number of tickets they sell for shows. People are often packed in so tightly that walkways, staircases are overflowing with folks. Went to a two-day concert that was fully sold out and it was so unsafe. The artist had to stop the show multiple times for medical emergencies and people had no room to leave space for the medics. An embarrassing and bad concert venue.
Great venue. Lots of space and they have their own parking so you don't have to waste your time trying to find some. Sound is always on point and lighting.well that could use some work lol sometimes its hard to see the musicians with all the dark colors. The security is always nice and when things get a little crowded or hot, they make sure to take care of their guests by handing out water to everyone. Pretty cool. They also have a couple huge fans which help if you get sweaty
Also, known as Gilley's. Parking can be about $15-20. Not too hard to get out after a show.
Excellent venue. Plenty of room. Very clean bathrooms. Bartenders were friendly. Drinks were a little on the pricey side ($10 for a well rum and pineapple and $14 for an adios). The show was amazing great acoustics in the building. Parking was cheap and easy to get in and out.
Nicely spaced. It can hold a pretty large crowd and the drinks are good. I enjoy coming here every time I'm in town for an event
Good venue, but why remove the lids to the water bottles? Bars are notorious for having drinks spiked at concerts especially. There’s no valid reason to take the cap from the overpriced water bottles. Also there was no re-entry with a wristband.
Visited for Mewithoutyou’s Farewell tour and had a great time! The venue is accessible. Staff friendly. Lots of wells, so no long line for drinks. Clean restrooms. Great sound!
Would happily come here for another show again!
I was here to watch Oneus performance. This was the first time I watched a Kpop group and my first in this place. Everyone was told that camping out was a no-go, but the staff allowed some to do it. We were also told that no one would be allowed to line up at noon, and again, there was a line at 11am. There was one female security officer who was very aggressive and rude. When I asked a simple question, an other officer would apologize for her, which was amazed. We waited outside for 6 hours, which was nice. We were supposed to go in at 5, but we actually went in at 645. There was no one who came and informed us that something was wrong. Once inside, the place in itself was not too bad. The floor plan was built for dancing, it seems, but the stage was greatly lacking. My group was about 6 or 7 rows back, and all we could see were thighs and up. The worst was that my 10-year-old was barely able to see them, and this was her first concert. They had the first 6 rows caged off for the vip, and they all crowded the stage. There were no TVs to watch the performance. They served alcohol, and water was 4 dollars a bottle. There were no chairs, not even in the corners. After waiting at all that time, we found an ok spot next to the concert caged video area. The show was about to start. Suddenly, a young woman (person 1) was trying to move my daughter. I asked her what she was doing, and she told us that she was trying to get in the video section. I helped her around, and she went and talked to a female security officer, and they hugged, and she explained that she was running late. The officer told her to come into the vip section to watch the show. In doing so, she blocked another person who was there as long as we had been. I moved over some, and I had the young lady stand there. As the show moved on, so did person 1. Again, she was blocking not only the young lady but my daughter. I tapped on her shoulder and asked her to move back. She gave me the bird. That is when I noticed she didn't have a wristband. I told the officer, but I was told to mind my own business. So I had to move my daughter. This happened back and forth. Finally I asked her to move and said that I was going to find the one in charge, when the officer said that she would have me and my friends removed from the concert and that she has a right to have whom ever she wanted to break the rules. I have been to many music halls, dance floors and the like. I have also helped run a con. So if you want to get in there free and watch others spend $100 to get in, then threatened, just befriend someone that works there.
