Southern Careers Institute - San Antonio North reviews
16So far it's been amazing with god leading my way and my instructor s and financial people and the AMAZING READY TO WORK CREW am ready to get my CDL! Thank you all God bless you and your family's
I jus started here but so far it's a really good place to go to school. The people are really nice.
This has by far the best experience I’ve ever had with any school for a career the staff has been working on my behalf since the moment I’ve called! They expedited my profile beyond measure I look forward to continuing my course and excellence with this experience. Thank you so much Southern careers you have been a blessing beyond measure. Sincerely, Isaiah
The Individual Attention and Personal Professionalism through the entire Informative presentation of courses and school was exceptional for myself to receive, thank you Southern Careers Institute.
By far the best experience I've had, everyone from administration, financial aid, and the instructors are very patient and understanding. Ive already started recommending them to friends and family.
Pros: HVAC former student here (02/2021-11/2021). Instructors (Mr. Montez and Mr. Dean especially) were great and very helpful. It’s definitely what you make of it, apply yourself and ask for time in the lab practicing brazing and troubleshooting w your instructors. It will help greatly in the fleet.
Cons: For the love, will the administrators make getting your transcripts easier? Just email them to the students when they graduate. I shouldn’t have to fill out a form and wait two weeks for what should have been given to me when I graduated and then the staff won’t even answer their phones or communicate when the transcripts are enroute.
Update: The staff fixed everything and did an amazing job with my transcript request. I’m very impressed with Stephanie!
The experience I encountered during my time at S. C. I. North was such a Great, Awesome, Knowledgeable times in my life. I will never forget this moment in my life.
I’ve been texted and emailed excessively by SCI since I signed my graduation papers about giving the school a review and I am very fed up with receiving them because I wouldn’t recommend SCI to anyone. From the very beginning it felt like they put on some kind of show to get students in the door and signing their admission papers. During orientation they passed around a sheet and tried to force us to write other people’s names and numbers so that they could contact them about attending SCI as well. My family and I thought that was a bit much along with the fact that they tried so hard to be upbeat and excited to the point where it felt extremely fake. Once we got past the orientation it only got worse. Their programs are overpriced, administrative staff is extremely unorganized, and they put all their effort into incoming students hoping to bring in more money, only to leave current and graduating students on the back burner. My counselor, Lauren Ortega, was incredibly kind and helpful until about halfway through my program. After that she became unresponsive and cold and that was when I needed her direction the most, honestly. They paired me with a very unorganized externship and I attended to finish my NHA hours but there were many times when I reached out to the school and received no answer for WEEKS. I found other Medical Billing and Coding programs in San Antonio for less tuition and I just wouldn’t want someone else to experience what I did. I’d also like to make a point that I loved every single one of my module teachers, each and every one made it clear they cared about their students and getting them ready for new careers.
My son just started the welding program and it’s a absolute shame! Why are the teachers not teaching? Where are the instructors? He has no idea about welding and is not getting taught anything! They basically throw you into cold water with no help. Nobody is there to teach him really, and what’s sad is that you make the students pay to teach themselves. If this doesn’t change we will have to do something about it. Don’t only make promises but keep them! I will change my review once my son is actually getting help and knows what he does. I know a a lot of his class feels the same. This cannot be right.
The San Antonio north campus I've had three reps at Admission reps all champions on my behalf Valerie, Crystal quite competent. Miss Aurora Varela is a SUPER STAR. YOUR TRAINING WORKS. She is quite knowledgeable on products and services I have to genuine and a deep concern for my wife and my well-being thank you thank you thank you
I recommend SCI based off the quality of drivers that come out of this school. My family's trucking company has hired several drivers from SCI and they are the most qualified compared to other schools. I would highly recommend Edna. Just ask for her and she will help you out!
I had an absolutely amazing time attending this institution. The instructors in the HVAC program really know their stuff. 10/10
Just started but so far loving the environment. Classes aren’t to big and the instructor cares about his work. Looking forward to the experience
I just took the leap of faith, putting welding off for so long and said F it. They had an immediate spot opening and I jumped on it. Got enrolled so fast I was expecting I wasn't gonna start till spring but just out of the blue they called and I just know I made a great decision on life. They helped me with fafsa and other stuff with it. I cannot WAIT to start my journey with this institution! Aurora is so awesome to work with to! I love the positive vibes in it as well!
So far my experience here has been pleasant. Every staff member seems sincerely open and supportive in helping me achieve my education. I feel confident I can ask a question and someone will find the answer.
I took the welding course at SCI and they have the most professional and knowledgeable instructors. Also the customer service at SCI is excellent.
