Southmore Park Apartments, Pasadena TX

I went about 6 months ago and was disgusted with the woman working as so called manager that made a pass at me I said that I was not ever going back. I came back into town recently and heard that it was under new management. So we decided to stop by. The young ladies at the office were so kind polite and helpful. Almost convinced my wife and I as they showed us a unit but when we drove thru the parking area I nearly lost the tire of my car. Man the owner really needs to fix the pot holes before somebody falls into the pothole that seems like a small swimming pool!

Y'all need to pay attention, the apartments are cheaper for a reason, when I just moved in one cracked head was putting his head into my door one neighbor saw him and I told the manager they told me don't worry they will handle it a week later the same guy was staring at my apartment my son and my daughter was alone that day my son saw him then he called me telling the guy came back, for a second time I told the manager she said she's going to talk to a police, the guy disappeared like fir two months now he came back staring my side again I call the police and they told me if he didn't do anything they can do nothing if you have kids or you are a single woman or senior this place It is not for you this guy will continue coming back because here is no gate or security and all have to protect himself. I leave this video here for y'all to see I'm not lying I have to confront him I'm just waiting for my lease to end and I have to move out again.

Listen carefully, this place is cheap for many reasons, when I barely moved a drug guy stuck his head in my door, one of the neighbors looked at him, I told the manager and she said not to worry, she would fix it after a week. The guy came back and this time he only stood in front of my apartment to watch it. At that moment only my son and my daughter were there. My son calls me and tells me the guy came back and is just watching him, so I talk to the manager again and She says she's going to talk to a patrolman. The guy disappears for like two months and recently he came back and was once again guarding my apartment, so I called the police. I walked to the office and the guy followed me and I had to confront him. Here you have to defend yourself because the owner doesn't fix the fence or the security gates, nor does he have security. The police told me that if the guy doesn't do anything to me, they can't do anything either. Here I leave the videos, I hope you think about it. Well, before you start living here, if you are an elderly man, a single woman, or with small children, this place is not for you. I'm just waiting for my contract to end and I'm leaving.

A friend of mine stayed here in building 1 for a full lease. They had a lot of issues but none that were deal breaking. The reason they didn’t rent there again is the passive aggressive and unprofessional behavior exhibited by management. As a person with a degree in Communications and another in Management, it’s pretty apparent the owner doesn’t have the tact to respond professionally to criticism. They try and embarrass the former tenant instead of addressing the actual problem stated in the review. Apartment upkeep and maintenance aside- they’re just petty, snide people.

Their expectation is that low income individuals or people that are non-English speaking, will be desperate or uninformed enough to lease with them regardless of the reviews. They have cultured an ego so massive they believe they can operate without fear of losing their property. That’s just not the case. Until they start showing they care about the human beings living in those run-down buildings, they’re always going to be on the radar of every sane renter in the area.

Rent from a property with integrity.

The summary: IF the management or the owner sees this they’ll dismiss the review as pandering. They’ll say because I didn’t physically lease there, I have no idea what I’m talking about. They’ll try to search my name to find ammunition to rebuttal this review. They’ll try to discover my friend’s name so they can check if they were a bad tenant or a good one as to use that info to reply in the worst way… These people are predictable, unprofessional, untrustworthy, and kind of unintelligent too. Nothing they can say or do will change it.

YOU are the tenant. YOU read all this. Whatever they reply with, YOU know that YOUR family deserves better. Skip this apartment.

Worst apartment I have ever been in
Or seen anybody in. The man who owns the apartments is a total control freak. And some apartments are impossible to get internet in unless you get his internet through a third party company he owns. And if he feels like being an a****** he will turn off your Internet. I left one month before my lease was up due to sewage water coming up from the ground through the floor and the apartments try to put it on my rental history as a broken lease. But I had pictures of the damage and they couldn't. Renting an apartment from there was the worst mistake of my life.

The manager never give me an answer if I got accepted or denied I wait 2 weeks for the response save money never willing come back this place horrible management

The place is ok but it would be nice if the gates worked because i have had serveral near misses of accidents because people use the wrong gates by going out the entereance gate as someone comes in or going in the exit gate as someone is leaving then sometimes i dont save when people from other apartments come over and swim and destory our pool furniture and make us pay for it out our rent money and it would also be nice if all the applances were upgraded and replaced othere then that its ok to live here the people are nice and the staff is ok but sometimes i wish maintence would fix things on time or replace something we asked other then that its ok

I moved here about two months ago and I can say I actually like it here. It's a good amount of space for a two bed room, it's pretty quiet for the most part and nobody bothers me. Staff if friendly and maintenance works fast. However I would have gave it 5 stars but this place doesn't really have internet/wifi. I was told to pay $35 a month for internet but I have only actually ever gotten wifi maybe about 8 times and only for a few hours. This has cost me to lose my job working from home because even tho I paid I had no access to wifi whatsoever. I even went and bought a brand new modem with new cables (most expensive one they had) and it's just been terrible. The maintenance guy said it's bc the building is old. Me and my son have nothing to do all day and it's frustrating for us. I've went through all my hotspot and we're just sitting here looking at my phone all day. So if you need wifi for any reason this isn't the place for you.

TOXIC MOLD. Shortly after I moved in my daughter got real sick. Thyroid swollen. Covered head to toe in hives. The doctor ran blood work. Turns out she has mold in her system. Then on. Me and my children have been very sick from the mold. The lawyer sent some one to test the air and came back with 3 toxic mold at high levels one is active and that’s the one making us sick. I gave the owner a lease release form and my daughters blood work and doctors not saying she can’t be in the apartment. That was in Nov.of last year and here we are still no word from the owner and nothing from management. The lady from the office has seen the owner but she said she didn’t say anything to him about me and he didn’t mention anything about releasing me. The owner is refusing to release me from my contract. I’m not understand why, but There’s another lady that use to live here who has mold in her apt. And went to the hospital for it and the owner refused to do anything about it. The owner has personally injured my children by his negligence and refuses to take responsibility and refuses to release me from my contract. I want out. My advice. RENT AT YOUR OWN RISK.
