Spazo Restaurant & Bar, Allen TX

We soooo wanted to love this place. Just moved here and desperately wanted to find a great Italian spot. This place was quaint and very convenient for us. However, we were not impressed. We ordered “to go” and should have checked the order before we left. We ordered cheesy bread and it was really “well done” plain garlic bread. We didn’t feel like we could even bite into it so we didn’t eat it- you really couldn’t bite into it like you should with normal bread. Our salads were wilted and warm when we got home because they bagged them with piping hot pastas. The ziti sauce was blah- no real flavor at all. Had a stale taste to it- can’t really explain the taste but it didn’t taste like a normal ziti sauce and was extremely bland like it didnt have much of a taste at all. Noodles with plain butter would have had more flavor than this had. The “house” dressing was just indescribable. Couldn’t pin point the taste but it seemed a bit off and not like any house dressing I’ve ever had. Needless to say, we had a couple bites and decided to find something in the house to eat. Maybe it was an off night for them but not really willing to invest $45 again if this is their normal

Simple tasty Italian food. Brushetta app description says capers, however I did not get capers on it but it was still quite tasty. It has a slight kick to it. The aurora sauce is nice (kinda like pink vodka sauce), not spicy at all. The chicken parm sandwich is good. Limoncello marscarpone cake is light.
To go food is packaged very well, keeps the food warm and nothing leaked. Restaurant is packed on a weekday night.

Great food, unique drinks.only thing to change would be how congested the place it. The tables are really close to eachother. But with the quality and quantity of food & drinks, will definitely be returning!

We ordered in from Grubhub- chicken piccata and spaghetti with meat sauce. It was incredible! The chicken was perfectly cooked, the sauce was just amazing! Will definitely order from them again!

The food is unbeatable. However we don’t find it to be the most welcoming/warm environment.

I love Spazo, we order from them a lot, the food is great but I am SO upset. My husband had a scheduled delivery for 5: 30p, at 5: 45p we call the restaurant and at first they try to get me off the phone because they were going to reach out to the driver, okay but that doesn’t help us, so they do keep me on the phone. 5: 50p they tell me it’s on its way and just now left the kitchen.

When I asked why it was being delivered 20-30 minutes later they said the online scheduling for a later time messes them up. If it messes them up WHY offer that option? We got a confirmation that Spazo accepted the order shortly after placing the order at 4: 20pm. Seriously there was nothing done to make the situation better.

Love that for us and our hungry toddler.

The absolute best Bourbon and Whiskey selection in the area, along with fantastic food, service and ownership.

We visited this evening, and I must say, this place deserves a solid five-star review! The food was absolutely incredible, and the service was outstanding. Adelina, our server, was absolutely amazing. We tried different pizzas, a seafood dish, shrimp, scampi, and chicken cacciatore, and everything was fantastic. We had a memorable evening and highly recommend this place!

Spazo is a small restaurant with a friendly environment. When it's lively it may get a little loud, but there is nothing wrong with laughter and a good time. We enjoy going there for pizza while my wife enjoys a salad. The beer is cold and the prices are fair for the portions. Nice place for a date night before a movie. Furniture is a little dated but you're not there for a fancy table, you're there for great food, a little conversation in a relaxed area.

Maybe an off night? Food was not good. Calamari was chewy and overcooked. Shrimp Alfredo was watery with overcooked shrimp that you had to work to even cut. Not good at all. Kids spagetti with meatballs seemed alreight my son seemed to like it well enough. Disappointing and I don't see how they have such good reviews.

Very enjoyable neighborhood Italian restaurant. We go there when we want tasty food. Since I eat Low Carb, really liked that I could swap out pasta for excellent veggies.

Love the bruschetta! So yummy! My fiance and i enjoy Spazo for the chill environment and tasty selections. The lasagna is a big fave of ours!

The food and service was amazing! I am pregnant and have a major aversion to any water other than bottled and they didn’t have any bottled but they sent someone out to get a water bottle for me! So unnecessary and very appreciated! The food was amazing! And came out so quick! Highly recommend!

The food is great, people are great, really cool atmosphere and bar, great beer selection. They even deliver (Free delivery over 25 dollar order I believe). I've been here a bunch and love it. They even accommodate my wife's food requests and have made us a sample of one of their dishes once to try. I have loved every meal I've ever gotten.

Edit four years later: they're even better! The ownership is amazing, they're very involved in the community. The food and service is still the best. It truly is a gem of Allen!
