Great lil museum. Didn't get a chance to see inside ll the buildings but will be back. Hosted the rally kick off and parade line up.
I had visited the museum once as a kid in kindergarten or first grade on a field trip. I recently went back. I’m 48 now. This place is great and just like I remembered. We really enjoyed it and we got to see the reenactment of the gusher. This is a great piece of American History. It’s really nice. We went in the hottest days of the year and the buildings were air conditioned well. That made a huge difference. There’s also a movie playing. So glad to have a place like this.
I attended the ARRL Amature Radio Field Day at Spindletop-Gladys City Boomtown Museum of June 23,2023. The museum staff were friendly and the exhibits were very interesting. It was well worth the $5 admission.
I enjoyed looking around at how things used to be and OMG how I wish time and people were still the same.
Great collection of artifacts/ antiques from that time frame. Very educational experience. I would have liked maybe engaging stories behind the pieces or mannequins or something to show how things were done. My son was not as interested, and I think it's because he was unsure how the pieces were used.
Amazing small museum. A bit of everything for everyone. I enjoyed the innovations presented throughout that have made oil possible.
Unexpectedly awesome little museum! Easy to see very quickly or take your time and still be done in an hour or so. Tools, machines, and lots of daily living artifacts make this a must-see while in Beaumont. The energy in a barrel of oil has freed humans from manual labor worldwide. (And now let’s move on…) Air conditioned throughout and at 12 noon a gushing hydrant shoots 6,000 gallons of water into the sky in 2 minutes! I recommend it!
Great place to visit. Looks small at first glance, but there was much more to see than expected. All was very interesting.
Loved this place. Mattie and Joe were the tour guides and they did an excellent job. The Diamond Divas had a great time. Learned a lot of history about Boomtown.
Nice recreation of the boomtown with historical buildings housing town history and content
The staff was friendly. The town was very enlightening and amazing to learn about. I went through every single house, and I learned so much from the past. For $5 a person, it is definitely worth it.
Had a good time checking out the history of Beaumont. Really interesting self guided tour.
Small outdoor history museum about the oil boom days. Price is reasonable and there are some good displays. A small negative: They have a couple of "duplicate" buildings such as two print shops. For as small as the museum is, it might be better to have a wider variety of buildings. Still, it's worth a visit. Plan on 30 minutes.
We enjoyed our visit and learning about the history, it was very interesting and seeing the town with the different business's was a good tour full of facts & history.
Wonderful representation of the oil industry and time period. Enjoyed our visit very much.
