SpringHill Suites by Marriott Texas City

Really nice hotel. Clean and feels brand new. Right by the highway and perfect for a night before cruise. Just be aware though there is no walking distance restaurant. If you do not have a car, grab your food at the airport.

12? /28/2023 After sending a letter directly to the manager of the hotel, I received an e-mail and a phone call and a refund for one of the payments I made. I appreciate that they made an effort to solve my problem.

I have never given anything less than 5 stars to a Springhill Suites location, and we've stayed in many. From the get-go it was a bad experience with the front desk attendant. But I was going on a much needed cruise, so I didn't pay much attention to it. I should have. In the morning, the breakfast area was packed, which I expected due to the hotel's location close to Galveston. But the breakfast items were not refreshed promptly and for the volume of people, one waffle maker is not enough. So, upset and hungry, we left without asking for a receipt. BIG MISTAKE on my part, I know. It will never happen again. Remember the desk attendant? He never questioned why there were 2 exact reservations under the same exact name with the same ID provided. One reservation was prepaid at a lower rate, and a second was one at a higher rate that should had shown as canceled but didn't. After coming back from our trip and realizing the mistake, I contacted the hotel's manager, Sean H, who simply said I was responsible for both rooms because one was a "no show. " Well, they would not accept that yes, I made a mistake in not verifying my cancelation, but they made a mistake in not verifying why there were 2 reservations with the same name.
Yes, I've contacted Marriott, I am waiting for a response. Yes, I may have to pay both rooms. But bottom line, no matter how excited you are about going on that cruise, check, check your receipts. It's not only in Mexico where you're going to find dishonest vendors and rude managers. (I've never had problems in Mexico or anywhere else, just here.)

Bad customer service and attitude.
I have booked a room using my points and another room from Marriot site with cash a month ago. Then few days before I checked in, I had to cancel one room so I canceled the cash room.
When I checked in to the hotel, the manager told me that "by the way your canceled booking is non refundable", so now you are checking in with your points booking.
I asked her if she can use my cash booking to check me in, she said no. We took the money and now your stay is using your points.
As I am Marriot Titanium Elite member, I called the member's customer service and they told me we totally understand and the room should be refundable but it is up to the hotel and their manager to do so.
I talked to the manager and they refused, what a service.
I will never recommend this hotel to anyone due to the quality of customer service and their greed.

Just like all the rest, horrible, horrible breakfast, super disappointing.

Also got a suite that wasn’t a suite at all, it’s like a low budget ikea suite

Great location and all the staff were very helpful. Myisha made my stay a lot easier by ensuring everything was wheelchair accessible. Very clean and spacious!

Wow great hotel in a great location! We were going on a cruise out of Galveston and decided to stay here the day before. Staff was very friendly, room was nice and spacious. We didn’t use the pool but it was nice and we really liked the gym. Breakfast was great for us. Us girls went shopping at the outlet mall which is walking distance and so is Buc-ee’s. At night we sat outside and had the fire pit on. Definitely is now going to be our hotel we choose when we cruise.

Loved our stay here. The beds were comfortable, the hotel was very clean, and the staff was incredibly kind and hospitable. Loved the cookies at check in, and the goodie bags!

Excellent hotel! Stayed with 3 adults and 3 kids the night before a cruise. Staff was by far the friendliest and most helpful I’ve seen in a long time. Plenty of room and parking. No issues getting here with construction either.

Why is this place not a 3-star hotel on Google? Great location next to Tanger Outlets. Vann ar the front was amazing informing me of all the amenities and even giving me a special gift bag. I got here early and she graciously checked me in eight away! The room is impeccably clean and spacious. I love the work station area. Thanks.

Clean modern facilities. Room was very clean and nice. Plenty of charging outlets for 110 and USB. Staff went out of their way to make this motorcycle traveler feel safe and comfortable!

The staff and the Clark were 'Awesome'. We had our daughter's 'Wedding Ceremony' there. BEAUTIFUL.

This is our new go-to when traveling to Galveston! Very clean, well maintained, super friendly, professional staff. Room is spacious and comfortable. Choices for breakfast a bit limited, but tasty, and the coffee was good

Uber great place to stay! The staff is phenomenal! The front desk folks, Sam and Van, are simply the best! I’ve encounter MANY hotel staff over the years and these 2 are hands down fantastic! The breakfast ladies are amazing too! So sweet, kind and doing all they can to make your breakfast experience just right! Thank you, Antonia and Reba! Keep up the great work! We will be back!

Stayed in room 312 i checked in around 11 pm waited at the front desk for about 5 mins nobody was there until i said hello a black woman came out the back with a stank face seems like she didn’t want to be there she really didn’t make us fell welcoming & she was rude i feel like people like/with her attitude shouldn’t work in a hotel if the hotel wants people to come back & stay there, other then that i really liked my stay the room was clean breakfast was good not to much to choose from but still good. The two men from the morning shift where very helpful & kind! Always with a smile on when i passed by.

I loved the rooms. The breakfast was good, not as much selection as other locations I've visited but it was tasty. The pool was a little small, but clean. It's across the street from the outlet, less than a block distance from Buc-ee's, less than a mile from Lagoonfest, and a little over a mile (give or take) from Walmart, Sam's, fast-food restaurants, other shopping venues, and 158minutes from the seawall. I love the location.

Very clean, spacious, comfortable bed sheets, shampoo conditioner shower soap are all great quality, great breakfast, close to all the shopping malls, great location, great service, micro wave in each room.everything is good except bathroom's location.

Room was very clean, little bit small but I enjoyed my stay.
Staff was very nice, I would definitely book this place again on my next trip to Galveston.
I do like this location, next to Tanger Outlet Mall and between Houston and Galveston, lot of restaurants nearby
Only 1 draw back is the trundle bed was very thin and not comfy, I found couple hair on the mattress when I pulled it out, plus it did not have bedsheets ready. I went to the front desk to grab the bedsheets and slept on the sofa. The sofa is big and comfy. Not a big deal at all.
I would recommend this place to my friends.
Kudos to all the staff, they are polite and very helpful.
P/S: the breakfast does not have variety of foods but it’s all delicious

Everything about this hotel was great. Spacious room, clean, modern design and style. Friendly staff. Great hotel and it is on my list to return to if ever in the area again.

Only odd thing was the presence of a pool "monitor". Apparently a hotel employee who sits out at the pool all day. If it was a lifeguard there wasn't any identification. The pool is very tiny (smallest hotel pool I've ever seen) and only a max of 5' so a lifeguard/pool Monitor seems very unnecessary and it was a bit awkward with a guy just sitting there watching my kids and I swim all three days we were here.

Cool thing- they have a rack of life jackets for the kids!

Great stay, before arriving the GM was super nice and helpful with a booking error! Tashawna was amazing, so nice and kind and accommodating! I also witnessed her being this way with other guests! We stayed two nights and the first night after Tashawna left the I simply needed a fork and her replacement was opposite of her, I felt like I was bothering her. Thankfully I seen Tashawna the second night and made it my business to get everything I thought we might need before she left! Thank you Tashawna you make a difference and this hotel and with our stay!

Great & beautiful room! I can't recommend it enough. I'm pleased with our stay!
