Sputnik Grill, South Padre Island TX

Food wasn't great. Not very flavorful. Price is decent for the island and staff is friendly. Located upstairs, so be prepared to walk up.

Monte cristo sandwiches were horrible. Fried cheese sticks were overpriced ($8 for 5) dipping sauce was trash. Patty melt was a joke, looked like a 5 year old cooked it. Upstairs smelled like a cigarette lounge. Bartender/waitress was nice and did her best. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR. DO NOT TAKE YOUR FAMILY HERE! Side note, seems like an okay place to grab a and chill. Not a place to take the family for dinner.

Sputnik’s is awesome! Went there on our trip to South Padre and it didn’t disappoint!

Had the pizza and a cheesesteak. Pizza is real wood fired, “old” school pizza. 5 stars all around.

Pete was the bartender and service was excellent. Want great food and an awesome place go here! Highly recommended!

We visited the island for the first time and had dinner here twice now! The service is the best we've had anyway as of late. The second time we came our waitress remembered our drink orders. The food is delicious! The atmosphere is great, they have a pool table and board games to play! It was a definite favorite!

There's a bar downstairs, and we could smell the cigars from the second floor where we were sitting.
The server was taking a long time to get our order, ask for refills, and get us the check.
The southwest Philly and queso fundido were really good, though.

We had the Buffalo chicken pizza, and it was amazing! Best flavor and super fresh! We also had the corn nuggets and it was also a really delicious appetizer! Definitely recommend!

We ordered some late pizza. Was solid with a nice sauce base and thin Italian style crust.

Was excited to try this place but was kind of disappointed. The fried mushrooms and Ranch were great. My pizza had potential to be great but I couldn't finish it due to the burnt bottom and taste. Their very tasty Ranch couldn't cover it either. I know it's a brick oven pizza but the skill with having an oven that hot has to be on point. Hope mine was a fluke and the pizza are good the rest of the time.

The food here is SO GREAT! We had a cheesesteak, fried zucchini, mozzarella sticks, and wings, and they were all delicious. And the value for all the food was awesome, granted we're from Austin, but we could never find a place there that's so good and under $30/person. The staff are also so kind, and I got to pet Sputnik the dog! The smoke in the bar is a bit overwhelming, but it is a cigar bar. I'd order takeout from there any day, especially if I get to pet such a sweet dog! Can't wait to try the pizza on another trip!

Ordered a pizza & chicken wings! Food was amazing! Great flavors and hot fresh food. Had a little hiccup with my chicken wing order but the owner was very accommodating & had it quickly fixed. The lady who took my order was also amazing & very nice! Loved the food! I am from San Marcos, Tx but this will be a spot I return too when I visit South Padre. Highly recommend

Laid back bar with a friendly atmosphere, a pool table, and the BEST firebrick oven cooked pizza i've ever had. Anywhere.

Jessica upstairs was awesome! The food was amazing. We had the pizza and wings. Both really delicious and fresh. Would go back!

Honestly impressed. The food was above average for bar fare. They weren't very busy at all which was surprising with all the spacex nerds in town. Service was fast and friendly. Prices were better than I've seen on my trip down here.

Best pizza in SPI. We ordered the spicy Italian a month ago and it was delicious. We came back and it was even better tonight. Delicious and the help was extremely friendly too!
