Went here because of the short wait time at the children's ER, but that should have been a red flag. They jumped to conclusions as soon as we got there and tried to do painful procedures on my 1 month old daughter without running tests first. When they realized they should ultrasound before anything else, they gave us a misdiagnosis and sent us home without addressing the cause of my daughter's pain or the infection they ended up claiming was not there (it was). Their answer to managing pain was "just give her Tylenol and lay her on her side". They said they referred us to a specialist, but didn't ever send them the test results or her medical records, even after requesting them myself. The next day we ended up discovering and treating her infection ourselves and starting from 0 with the specialist, who said their misdiagnosis might harm her case moving forward. St. David's is not what it used to be and I would advise anyone to stay away from them. They did nothing to help us and obviously now they want money for "services provided", what a joke.

Referred here from an urgent care center. Took 11-year-old that had vomit, diarrhea, sore throat. They administered a strep test (positive results) and gave anti-nausea medicine. His brother went to the doctor two days later with similar symptoms and tested positive for COVID. It's upsetting that this wasn't a differential diagnosis or test provided at the ER. It seems like something incredibly easy and basic that an ER should be able to do. It shows a level of incompetency of those evaluating him.

It is not the first time that I am in this hospital with my 4-year-old child and the care is terrible, the nurses at the reception are super rude and the doctors take too long to attend to the children! When a person goes to a hospital it is because it is the place where the sick are cured and it is not playing and more so a child should not have so much delay and so much lack of professionalism. Today I have been waiting for more than 2 hours for a doctor to see my almost dehydrated child, I brought him here again because his pediatrician referred him here if not this is the last place I would bring him!

The worst hospital I have ever been to. Took my son there to get evaluated. The doctor did not even want to look at him, told me to calm him down (sick 3 year old) because there are other children. So, he did no even look at him, and told the nurse to discharge him.

I've been here for approximately 4 hours with my mom with a reaction to her last Chemo and still the emergency doctor hasn't done anything, he doesn't know what to say or what to do God

My daughter has an ear infection, but Dr. Smith gave her the eye drops prescription. I noticed that as we walked out and turned around and asked the front desk nurse. She told me it was a mistake and that they would fax a new description to the pharmacy later. But they did not. Walgreens says they did not get any other prescription for my daughter from Saint David ER Dr. Smith. For your child's safety, please be careful when you go there. The question is, what happens if we are not English speakers? What happens if we trust the Dr? In this case? It's a minor thing between the eyes and the ears, but it's a life. It’s my daughter. What happens if it's a different type of medicine that can kill her?
I DO NOT ever recommend anyone to this ER again. Thank you.

This is the fourth time my family has sought services at St David’s Children’s ER/Hospital. This last stay was the longest. My 3-week old newborn was diagnosed with RSV and having notable trouble breathing. We were sent from the ER to the med-surg unit and required O2 for three days. Over those three days, we were treated with incredible compassion, given lots of education on RSV and always informed on expended course of treatment. Terri and Leslie (two RNs on the pedi-med surg floor), Jessica (RT), and Dr Schmitt were incredible and professional and made a huge difference in our stay. I was so nervous and scared for my baby at the start of our stay, but with their help I became more confident that he would be okay.
Thank you!

Long wait in the lobby, they let in 2 families before us even though they came after us. They need to do better and focus on who came first. Very disappointed

I have a newborn - 3 days old. She needed to get some lab work done for jaundice, and our pediatrician asked us to get it done here.

We walk in the main entrance - there’s no one at the registration desk to tell us where to go. After flagging down a random nurse and walking in circles for half an hour, we were told to register our NEWBORN at the ADULT ER for lab work. No separate section, just the ADULT ER where PEOPLE are evidently SICK and NOT WEARING MASKS. Careless, lack of consideration and thoughtlessness - not to mention SEVERE HEALTH RISK FOR THE NEW BORN.

Our pediatrician recommends not to take the newborn baby to a restaurant or public space until she gets her shots in two months old. Meanwhile, this hospital is sending newborns straight to Adult ER. The DIRECTOR of REGISTRATION of ST. DAVID’S should be take responsibility for this negligence and fix it ASAP. Note, we are NOT the first to raise this concern.

DO NOT recommend coming here under any circumstance with your new born or child.
