Don't come to deliver here rooms are nasty bed rails were slimy and the will never have room for you if you are being induced even when your blood pressure is 184/80. Awful place and they won't even let me talk to anyone but charge nurse.

We have been here for 6 hours and still have yet to see a doctor. Triage nurse took blood and vitals said that my husband would get fluids shortly, that was 5 hours ago. At least 5 people have left the ER I’ll and in pain because they have been waiting for 6,7 plus hours and still have yet to see a doctor. When you ask the receptionist she is very rude and dismissive and continues her phone conversation. It’s we arrived Feb. 21 at 7 pm. It’s now 1am. Still no fluids, no doctor, no vitals checked again (my husband came in with a BP of 159/113 HR of 156. And no one has checked his vitals in 5 out of the 6 hours we have been here. I can not believe these people call themselves health care workers. My husband is a nurse and is absolutely appalled. This is worse than a nursing home.

UPDATE: Anna the Night registration personnel has the worst attitude of any person I have ever encountered in health care. She over spoke me and was extremely rude. The charge nurse came out and had an attitude stated the doctor on duty told her not to give any of us any information about results, time frames, when a patient will be seen. She stated she has put in a call for the House Officer twice to come talk to the patients in the waiting area and she is not responding to the calls. Charge nurse said that this hospital has been this way for over a year now and that’s why nurses are leaving this field. Had a really poor attitude. I am absolutely appalled.

I was in labor 09/12/22, so this is my review for that experience. Entrance to the labor and delivery area is not well marked, upon our entrance around 5am, there were no personnel at desks so we wheeled around looking for the intake. Ok, not too big of a deal.

All of the labor nurses were great, exception being the charge nurse. I received an epidural but could still move my legs - everyone commented what an awesome job the anesthesiologist did and I would agree. When I’m nearing active labor however, I get a little concerned and press the button to give me a little more of a push of the medication into my epidural catheter - again because I can move my legs and am concerned I was not receiving adequate medication. After pressing the button, the machine began beeping with an error message of a line occlusion. The charge nurse came in to address the situation and in an accusatory tone asked me what I did, then once I told her, asked me why I felt like I needed to do that. I told her. Her mannerisms conveyed to me she was annoyed and that I was doing something I was not supposed to; it was a very weird experience. She supposedly fixed the line occlusion but I did not receive medication from the catheter after that and my epidural wore off during the active stage of labor and ring of fire. It was obviously terribly painful. No one listened to my concerns right before delivery and told me I could not receive any more of the medication as it was too late and I wouldn’t be able to walk after giving birth if they gave me more medication a few minutes before delivery. This made no sense to me as I was unable to walk around regardless after delivery.

The private room they gave us was laughably small. We even walked past bigger vacant rooms but they put us in a room that housed the tiny bed, a chair, and the baby bassinet - there was a fold out bed for my husband but the room would not even accommodate it and have any room to walk. I’ve never seen such a recovery room, akin to a larger walk-in closet. That is not an exaggeration. The room was also extremely old, the furniture and bassinet were not in good shape. During my recovery night, I was offered Tylenol and ibuprofen for pain relief. I thought it was a joke…for post labor contractions that turn into back pain (yes I get back labor which is extremely painful), these medications do nothing. I had to repeatedly tell the nurses the medications were not doing anything to receive a stronger pain relief so I could sleep as I was woken up with each contraction. This experience was in stark contrast to my last delivery in Phoenix, AZ. I would never recommend this hospital or city to anyone. Apparently the caliber of people in this city shows in all aspects.

I had an excellent experience at St Lukes ER.
No wait time, great communication throughout, courteous and highly knowledgeable staff.
A special thank you to Dr Tully, Stephanie (intake nurse) and Yvonne (d/c nurse) for your professional care, dx, and treatment. Feel so much better-thank you.
This facility is 5 star and highly recommend for all your emergency needs.

I had great experience with the staff and my doctor before my actual procedure for my breast reduction. Everyone was very helpful in making me feel comfortable becuase it was my first surgery ever, and my first time with this hospital. Every doctor around me was a woman, and I was so appreciative and proud of that. My anesthesiologist was amazing in relaxing me and answering all of my questions before I went under.

Reason why I am only giving this place three stars is because of the aftermath when I came out of surgery and I was in the discharge room I remember still being in the wheelchair and very very sleepy because I was still just getting out of surgery and the discharge nurse that was there was awful to me. I remember her trying to talk to me and trying to converse eight and ask me all these questions and I just was not awake and I was also wondering where my husband was I thought he was gonna be back there with me when she proceeded to come over to me it seemed like she was rushing me out of my wheelchair out of my room she ripped the IV out of my arm instead of slowly pulling it out which caused me to have some pain in my wrist for three days after my surgery. When she was reading off a paper about my discharge rules and what I need to do when going home she was so incompetent of the information she went around asking other nurses for their input and everything was on the paper nothing was read to me from her as a nurse and I felt very disrespected and unsafe in her care I just wanted to get out of that hospital so fast after having that experience with her. I wish I knew her name because I would put that in here but it was definitely at this hospital and I wish that they would keep people there that treats patients with respect and understanding that was my first surgery and I didn't like how I felt rushed after and how I basically was thrown out of my wheelchair into my car to go home after a huge surgery. She then got upset because me and my husband were asking to speak to someone else and she got offended but I wanted to talk to someone else and try to figure out where one of the people before my surgery took place where and where my doctor was I didn't really want to speak to her because it felt uneducated and very very distraught. Other than having a horrible discharge experience with this specific nurse before I went into my surgery all the doctors were again amazing especially my doctor and the nurses and anesthesiologist was an amazing team before going under was very comfortable and treated very well it was just leaving the hospital and going through the discharge was a terrible terrible experience I never wanna have that nurse around me if I have to go back to surgery.

Today the triage in the ER is rude and very unprofessional. We arrived here at 3pm. It is now 826 pm and we are still waiting! I have never ever waited this long in any hospital ER in my life! Never again will I come here! They seem to only have one triage nurse.

I had a horrible experience here with my wife. My poor wife was scared for her surgery and the nurses were rude and talking to us as if we had no educational background. I am very displeased with their display of professionalism. Just ugly attitudes. Very disappointed in how they handled our situation.

Avoid this hospital.
There were no communication between the doctors.
They discharged a friend with no referrals, appointments, updates, nothing. Very sloppy discharged. Avoid this hospital.

Came in with severe left sided pain 8/10 on 11/11, blood work and ct was done within an hour but took 4 hrs for me to get any medication, max patient population would be around 10-11 but the avg was 7 including myself so not crowded. Day shift had a 2 nurses but nightshift had just one nurse. Also at shift change it was mentioned that there would be no nurses aid for the entire weekend. I do no know why the house super did not float anyone down or help themselves.it is unsafe to have 1 nurse work the walk in side of the er by themselves. I do not blame the nurse or staff but most certainly the admin.

I gave birth to my first baby at this hospital 9/4/22 the nurse in the obgyn ER was very nice and helpful. I was also pleased to have a nice L&D nurse Myranda George, I believe is her name. If I hadn’t had her as a nurse, my PPD from this experience would be much worse. The Anesthesiologist was also very nice and was very attentive to my needs, even more so than the OB. As for the negatives, I had Nicole, another L&D nurse come and flip me. She was absolutely worthless and thought she knew it all, she was too lazy to position me back onto the peanut ball I was using which caused me even more pain… she also got smart with my mom when she offered to help move me, Nicole said in a very snarky voice “If I needed help I would ask. ” That rubbed me the wrong way. All I wanted for myself in my birth experience was to feel empowered, and instead I was mistreated by the OB and dealt with rude nurses who didn’t want to be there. As for the OB, I was freaking out about him coming in to do a procedure and all he did was yell at me saying it was standard procedure. His bedside manner was atrocious and didn’t take the time to calm me down or be friendly one bit. I had no other option but to go with him as the delivering OB, unfortunately. I don’t ever want to walk past this hospital or mention St. Luke’s as this experience and many other issues that went on have hurt me very badly. Going to the hospital without a doula was the worst decision I’ve ever made. I wish I had someone to speak up for me in that horrible place.

If I could give them zero stars I would. I had surgery on 9-12-22 and they said I owed them $5,400.00 I needed to pay before the surgery. I paid them and the insurance came back after and said they were only due $2,600.00. It has been 91 days since the surgery and they have still not refunded me the $2,800.00 that was overpaid. I have called them 4 times and have spoken to supervisor about this and they never have answers. Please be careful if you choose them for care because they have unethical business practices. St. Luke would be ashamed!

As we’re waiting for updates and information on a family member, we’ve tried asking the PM unit secretary in L&D. However she seems more interested in conversation with her boyfriend (who has been here since the start of her shift… it’s now 11: 54pm) than actually wanting to assist. Not only myself but other patients families are asking questions, and he is either hanging in the window or stands right next to it. This is not professional at all, and needs to be addressed.

Hello Jennifer,
I am in the same boat. St. Luke Baptist needed $7319.73.up front to perform my Heart Cath, well I paid. My surgery was on 10/11/2022 my insurance settled bill with them on 11/17/2022. St. Lukes Baptist is holding my $6555.02 that I need to pay for my care. I would like to know if there are more folks like us, if so lets take action.
