St. Mark's Medical Center reviews
7Nurse at the desk for the er was extremely rude, ignored my mom when she said what problems she was having (chest pain, left arm numb, and dizziness) handed her a paper she needed to fill out then sent to the lobby. She has had a heart attack before and they know it yet sent her to sit down like there was no problem. They do not care about their patients and it clearly shows!
Just got home from ER, staff was incredible and so was the doctor. Everyone was so kind. I really didn’t want to go, but glad I did. Nurses were attentive and compassionate as was the doc. I’m very pleased. Total time was around three hours I believe, waiting on test results was the longest (normal for any ER). Best ER experience I’ve had in a long time.
I have been to St. Marks a few time for injuries, the latest being a disagreement with a 5 yr. Old wild Mustang from Nevada. I ended up with 5 stitches in my lip, scrapes on my cheek and chin. Everyone in the emergency room was wonderful, the staff, the nurses, the doctor were all amazing!
I can’t thank Dr. Rockwood and her nurses enough for the excellent care my husband received at the emergency room! They all spent the time necessary to assess my husband’s condition, answer all of our questions, and explain fully the options and why a certain one was best for him. It was very reassuring to experience genuine care from these medical care givers. Thank you so much!
I went to have Lab work with my orders from a non Texas doctor, and they said Texas Law states they can not accept out of texas lab orders. I said I've had blood work from the same non Texas facility before and she said I don't know how they get away with it. I called CPL labs in Bastrop and they said no problem, and they said it's not a law. So, I guess St. Marks lied to me, they should say it's there policy not stating it's a state law. We will never be back to St.marks. So, now I have to drive about 35 minutes to have blood work done.
The nursing staff is so compassionate, so genuinely caring and empathetic. The doctor on call held my hand and was genuinely concerned with my emotions, by far one of the best er experiences I’ve had. The reason for the 4 star was because when shift change came the incoming male er doctor was rude, gave me two options both of which were extreme, I said no to both and said I would go to st. David’s in Austin to which he said they’re going to make me do what he said. He was wrong on every account. The surgeon at st David’s confirmed that the er doctor at st marks was wrong and he would have never offered those choices. If you go to the er at st. Marks and there is a male physician there (“doctor d”) leave and go somewhere else. If it’s a blonde female on call doctor, you are In phenomenal hands.
