Absolutely best place to get your haircut by far and got my haircut all over Houston and this place is always where I end up coming back to you and regret ever leaving so now I stay

This is the second time my boyfriend has visited this place as a walk in customer. The guys working are usually very professional and welcoming when you walk in.

But the women working (Monica) has a very nasty attitude. We did notice it the first time but we always give the benefit of the doubt, people are allowed to have bad days. But this time was definitely the last time giving this place a chance.

Immediately she’s huffing and puffing, smacking her lips, and on her phone CONSTANTLY. I have gone through the reviews and it proves more people would agree with me. The haircut itself was very crooked. My boyfriend walked back in to ask for it to be corrected and she made it seem like an inconvenience. I don’t think he will be going back.

Go to Mr. Fades he’ll get you right! Good conversation! Will tell you about the cut you may want before he starts on you. Best barber shop around honestly i been coming here since they opened in Dickinson.

The haircut came out ok. The beard "shape up" is another story. I'm not sure if I'm more upset about the uneven hack job performed on my face or the fact that I payed for this "service". She cut off 3/4 of the length of my beard (length was cut from 4-5" down to 1/2") and left the rest uneven. I could have done a better job by using a upturned lawnmower on my face whilst blindfolded.

I've been going here for 3+ years and never left disappointed. Great experience every time. Alfonso does an incredible job. I highly recommend.

I went many years being told I could not get a bald fade due to the shape of my head. When I came to state of the art, I left feeling like a brand new person. Every time I go, I look better than before because the barbers there strive to make each cut better than their last. Alfonso and Monica have really boosted my self-esteem, John as well has been loyal to each of his customers. This shop in whole is a place I recommend and plan to stick with for some time. Great place, great people.

We had the pleasure of meeting Alfonso and Gio today. My boys received great cuts. I’m picky about their hair cuts so I’m definitely satisfied with their hair. Thank you guys! I’ve attached some pictures but it definitely doesn’t do justice. This is after wash.

They quoted me 10$ for a edge up charged me $16 at the end said it was tax the edge up was horrible.

I just love Monica. She is down to earth and does such an amazing g job. The barbershop is clean and it has a nice atmosphere that is suitable for kids also.

Alfonso is the go to guy, man goes stupid with the clippers. Everyone inside the building can cut and everybody is super chill. You need a cut go here.

State Of The Art Barber Shop is a conveniently located barber shop with a polite, friendly staff, and nice atmosphere. Unfortunately, I will never be returning there again. I went during a visit to Houston based on the good reviews, but had a horrible and very over-priced haircut experience.
I spent over an hour getting a haircut that kept getting worse and worse, all while the AC seemed to be off on a 100+ degree day, and then paid more than I've ever paid for a haircut. I left there as fast as I could and immediately went somewhere else to have my poor patchy 'fade' fixed.

Been going to this location for a couple of years now. Absolutely amazing talent at this location. My go to is John!

Went in with long hair, unsure of what to do with it and the barber blew me away! Got some great styling tips and product for my hair type as well! I will absolutely be recommending him to my friends!

Called and they said we could walk in. 2 hours later no cut for my husband. Luckily, I made an appointment for my son but his cut was wack and the lady had a bad attitude the whole time. Heard good things but unfortunately had a bad experience.

Everyone in the shop makes you feel welcomed as soon as you walk in. Been coming here for about 6 months with my son and they always take care of us.
