Staybridge Suites Lubbock South, an IHG Hotel

Do not stay here. Needs to be investigated.by TABC for dispensing free beer and wine without checking ID. Rough crowd and not family friendly. Room disgusting, matted dirt everywhere, and deplorable bathroom. Refused to change room or let me speak to manager. Overtly lied we would get refund if we left. We did and outright fraud under Texas law. I am attorney in hospitality industry since 1990 and I know horrible when I see it. Reported this to management company which could care less. Staff rude and snickered when we left.

Oh, and nonsense response of “owner” is imbecilic and shows they could care less!

This brand needs to be discontinued!

Ugh! Have stayed here several times in recent years. Just keeps going downhill. Sad because at one time, it was a great property with clean, comfortable rooms. Staff is awesome and food is fine. The rooms.different story.

Great customer service! Attendant at the front was great and Rosalinda was amazing! Rosalinda not only made a great breakfast, she made it delightful. She made you feel at home.
The rooms are nice. The bed is comfortable. I do recommend and I will be staying here when I return to Lubbock.

First room had bed bugs. They did give me another room right away and the second room had no bed bugs but big stains all over the carpet. IHGs are usually really nice so I was pretty disappointed. They did give me a partial refund without asking. I didn’t ask for a full refund since I still stayed there but I was surprised they didn’t give me one. Breakfast lady was rushing people to get done eating so she could clean. No front area to pull up to to check in so you have to walk all the way around the hotel to check in. It is right next door to several restaurants which is nice.

First, the desk clerk wasn't all that friendly or welcoming, but the room was nice and clean but designed weirdly.we had the king size bed room. The restroom was small and was a really tight space with a very narrow shower. The ladies that prepared breakfast were very friendly and welcomed everyone. The location is very convenient as it is along a reastraunt and shopping strip. I would stay here again. Oh there are no USB chargers in the rooms so make sure to bring wall pieces to charge all devices.

Rooms and bathrooms really need a refresh. Stained carpet and bathroom was very small and did not seem real clean. The toilet had chips of paint missing all of over the seat. Furniture was beat up. Dog lover but barking dogs a few rooms down. We came in for Dude Perfect and for $175 a night it was def not worth the value. Think this will be the first and last stay at Staybridge. Wish I would have booked the Hampton Inn that we stayed in a few weeks ago in Lubbock.

My mother came into town to visit my husband and I. She was trying to stay somewhere different for a change and stay at Staybridge Suites, she usually stays at The Overton. We went in to check in a bit before 3 pm. She wanted to see a room first before she paid her money. We waited for 20-25 mins waiting at the front desk, no one was up front. Finally the housekeeper comes and tries to help us, then finally the front desk clerk. My mother told her she had a reservation and asked could she see a room before she paid. The clerk who was a young blondish haired Hispanic lady she had no name tag abruptly and rudely said. No! I cannot show you a room, we only have dirty rooms and I cannot show you a dirty room. She was very short with her answers and her face was frowned, and no direct eye contact. So my mother said she would come back after 3: 30 pm. We returned and a patron before us received the same if not worse service than we had prior to our return. My mother did not end up staying and went over to The Overton. She nor I or anyone we know will be staying at this hotel. The hotel itself is very nice as well as the rooms.

I cannot say enough amazing things about this hotel! It is extremely clean & well-kept. The rooms are both spacious and updated with the best stainless steel amenities. The staff has also been outstanding! The second party that we utilized to book our room accidentally put us in the wrong size suite. Both Brytanie and Gabi bent over backwards to upgrade us to the correct suite! They were both beyond helpful, kind, and prompt! It is also a pet friendly hotel that has been very accommodating for our bulldog! I would stay here again in a heartbeat! Thanks, Brytanie and Gabi!

Nice stay! I'm here about 4 times a year on work trips at various times.
Front desk service is great for check in/out and amenities (gym, pool) are clean and ready to go. There's always lots of breakfast options for a quick bite with great staff.

The rooms are good sized and cozy for the stay with clean bathrooms and showers. My only star knock off is several of the rooms I've stayed in have some questionable stains and/or holes in the carpeting. Of course this does not effect my stay at all, just a side note that seems to be reoccurring.

We stayed here because they are pet friendly. The room was comfortable, everything was great. Extra kudos for the bed. It was the most comfortable mattress I think I have slept on. I have insomnia, but I slept all night! It was fantastic!

Elevators didn't work on my side of building so had to take stairs. Also ice machines were not working.

Abby, Brytanie, Moises, Sandor and Jack are awesome! They are super accommodating and eager to help with my stay. Housekeeping Manager Nora and her crew are great. Nora makes certain your room is fresh and clean for your stay.

A great place to stay! Great service and support from the front desk. However rooms are not cleaned often and when they do it’s not done well.

We’ve stayed before and been pleased but this time was different. We were suppose to get the two room suites but didn’t. Our rooms smelled like sewage the entire stay. We requested to speak to manager but were told there was no way to contact her, she would contact us which never happened. We asked for our room to be cleaned and it wasn’t. When checking out the lady behind us also said her room smelled like sewage. She was also on 4th floor but over 10 rooms down for us. So there is def a problem. For the price, we just expect more.

The hotel staff is purely amazing, Abby, Gabby, and Brittany make sure you have everything you need. They go above and beyond. Definitely a for sure stay whenever I’m working in or around the Lubbock area.
