Staybridge Suites San Antonio - Schertz, an IHG Hotel

If your visiting Schertz this is the best hotel. I have stayed at 7 separate hotels here in 3 months.

Stayed 1 night with 2 kiddos and 3 adults in two rooms. Great experience! They were able to accomodate our request for rooms next to each other and a crib for my daughter. Everything was ready when we checked in. Rooms and hotel overall appear to be very clean and well maintained and the breakfast was good.

If only the bathrooms were bigger. Barely have room to turn around.

I recently intended to stay at Staybridge in Schertz with my family and pets on orders. After two days on the road, the front office staff surprised me by stating we couldn't stay due to having a cat. The pet policy's description only mentions 'pets and service animals, ' causing stress as we had to hastily find alternative lodging without staff assistance for an extended stay. If not allowing cats is the policy, the description on the site and app should be updated. If it was an error, staff should be better educated on current policies.

First, I give 5 Stars for the class of hotel (a value extended stay). Our stay was a pleasant surprise. The hotel better than most in its class.

The STAFF was efficient, cordial, quick, honest, & responsive! I had jewelry out in plain sight in the room, and it was untouched except to clean under it.
* I hope not to offend by stating this, as honesty is the expectation and a baseline but I figure it may help to be explicit about it. *
Also, STAFF was fantastic at breakfast. The place was clean and well stocked. We stayed downstairs for a couple hours socializing and saw how frequently the staff cleaned and stocked and did so with a smile!

Speaking of BREAKFAST, the food was plentiful and varied. We had two breakfasts. The first time was eggs and bacon (super thin and super tasty), and the second time was eggs and sausage links. See the pics for all it offered.

The ROOM (we had a double queen suite) was spacious with two rooms and a vanity area. A couch with attached chaise and central air. Two flat screen TVs.

The full KITCHEN had a full size fridge, dishwasher, microwave, sink, cabinets, and flat double-eye stove. Dishes, pans, dish towels, etc.were also available. Check the pics.

BEDS were on the softer side but not enough to cause back pain (I'm older. Lol) and the four pillows on the bed are both firm (2) and soft (2). Linen is white and bleached with a clean (not just fresh) scent.

SHOWER was clean. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, and hand lotion are available. Towels are white and clean.

Plenty of free PARKING. Good LOCATION for the area. Clean halls. Good smell.

Overall, would recommend and definitely would re-book.

NOTE: The hotel permits pets. Pets are in rooms and also are allowed in the dining area. I didn't see any in the food area, but that may have been pet owner courtesy and not hotel policy. I don't know. I also don't know if pets are restricted to checking into certain rooms, or if all rooms are fair game depending on what's available. We had no problem with the pets, but we did not catch on that pets would be here when we were booking.

CON: The room does have a lingering old sweat smell, which indicates to me that the pillows, mattresses, couch, and carpet may be due for deep cleaning. I'm not saying the staff doesn't clean them. I'm just saying the smell suggests it. That said, as soon as we took our showers, we no longer could smell it. My roommate didn't smell it at all. Take this as you will.

5 Stars only because 6 Stars are not available. Great place, great location. Lekisha was at the desk when we checked in. Such a freindly person. Very helpful and so nice. She provided the type of service I look for and really appreciate.
The entire property was so clean and welcoming.
Loved the room. Comfortable bed and enjoyed the mini kitchen. Came in handy even though we stayed just through the weekend.
Joined their IHG Hotels and Resorts loyalty program to get the best price and take advantage.of the perks.
Can't wait until we can go back.

Awesome friendly staff, clean and comfortable place I love the kitchen and even tho I didn't get in the swimming pool the fact hat it's heated is awesome, nice clean BBQ pits I'll definitely stay here whenever I have to work in the area.

Great place to stay, I will be booking with Staybridge, they had great breakfast till 9: 30 unlike most is 9. Definitely worth what I paid and more. They had free washer and Dryer to use, was able to do my laundry there in the last night and did not have to worry about doing it when I got home.

Took a trip to see my family and everything that could have gone wrong did. My daughter got really sick and started having problems breathing I couldn’t figure out why and it was due to all the mold in the ac unit. Front desk manager karlie did nothing to make this right. Showed her pictures and all she said “aww I’m sorry”. So much for IHG CLEAN PROMISE.

Outstanding service, very clean and modern, great social hour M-W, perfect location, absolutely no complaints. If in the area, this is the place to stay.

This is one of the hotels everyone at my company comes to when they are in town. Great hotel with clean rooms. Staff is very helpful and accommodating.

Ok place, owner was more worried about keeping her commission rather than trying to help. Other than that we enjoyed the breakfast n friendly guests. They have a quiet time but some guests don't follow that because the place can be loud especially when you're trying to get some sleep.

Staff is friendly and professional. Room is large and clean. Would stay again. Huge shout out to Lakisha at the front desk who provided excellent customer service and made my stay an exceptional experience. Kudos to the entire staff.

Loved our stay! The rooms were so clean and the staff were exceptionally helpful and kind.

I stayed a week here. Mostly an excellent experience except for 2 things which I'll get out first.

One - the smoke detectors are all connected to each other, and every room has a full kitchen. So if someone burns something that sets off the detector, every room gets a SUPER LOUD jarring buzzer (it's like deafening). And like any smoke detector, this happens until the smoke is completely gone. This happened an unacceptable 3 times during my stay! There is no reason for rooms to be connected like this when there is a separate fire alarm system. There is at least one other review about this so I will be contacting corporate.

Two - when breakfast is advertised for a specified time, that doesn't mean 15 minutes before end time food is taken away to clean. If a restaurant did this they wouldn't be in business. I also wish that powdered eggs were not a thing for most 3-star hotels but sadly that's the case here. Inedible for me and so breakfast is meh.

Those two things aside, this is a very nice place to stay for any length of time. It is only a few years old so things are still in great condition. Staff is very accommodating. No issues with room. Social hour Mon-Wed evening is nice. For the price, it's a great deal.

Update: We moved back into home in February and the $250 pet deposit turned into a nonrefundable pet fee. I had cleaned the carpets. Then at 8 pm on 17 March I got a call saying I had two packages waiting, but when we drove over on the next morning, the manager had returned then that morning. I am O² dependent and my regulators were delivered to the hotel address. The desk help was great but I think the manager acted wrongly

I really enjoyed my experience there. The receptionist were very nice and handle everything in a timely matter. My room was clean and beautiful. They have a pretty wide selection for breakfast. Didn’t go to the pool but it looked clean and nice.
