Stella at the Medical Center, Houston TX

I thought that I would be able to take a bath brush my teeth. I even put Nair all over my body just for me to turn the water on and it does not work! There was absolutely no notice or anything they just randomly turned the water off! This is the worst apartment EVER, the fact that it’s in the medical center where they should want to attract quality people but yet this place is a dump. Nothing works. You do not want to live in these conditions on top of all the mildew here. WORST DECISION!

Every single time the water supply has been shut down (for many hours) in last couple of months, there has been NO prior notice. This was not happening before; there was always a prior notice. Very very annoying and frustating!

WARNING: STAY AWAY

I hope you read my story and decide to stay far, far away from Stella.

I was moved into an apartment that had standing water in it, and mold all over the walls. It was totally unlivable, but management denied, denied, denied the problems even as I sent them pictures of the mold and water (see for yourself below). I begged them for a transfer, which they told me I would have to pay for, I begged them to remediate the mold, but over six weeks (!) they totally ignored me. Worse, they gaslit me, telling me they couldn't smell the mold but putting an air freshener in the vents. The smell was terrible, and the mold was clear as day all over the walls - again, look at the pictures!

I was forced to get a lawyer, who sent multiple letters demanding action which were completely ignored. No response whatsoever. Finally, I went in and begged to simply be let out of my lease and repaid the rent and security deposit, which they agreed to - but they stiffed me! I got a check in the mail for $1,000 less than I was owed, with no explanation as to why. I have decided to cut my losses and move on, but I hope this review will serve as a warning to anyone considering Stella.

There is nothing I can do but be grateful I don't live there, but I hope that anyone reading this will learn from my lesson and AVOID Stella at all costs. You still have time to not make a terrible mistake.

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS

From the moment I walked in. Megan was friendly and knowledgeable. The property was clean and well kept. I had a great experience.

This not safe complex breaks cars and. Stealing tires never rent there and the management is criminal and horrible every one put reviews they answer that he or she didn’t live there never believe them this apt should be removed is not safe at all no trust

I have lived here for a little over two months now… we all pay a $25 amenity fee — for a feces filled dog park and a complex gym that rarely has a working treadmill and is missing a set of dumbbells.
As you can see, I provided a picture of a car on cinder blocks, this was 9/27/23 and this is the 3rd time I have witnessed this as a resident at Stella (again, I’ve lived here a little over 2 months). Safety is a concern here and I am awaiting a return email regarding what steps will be taken to ensure our safety as residents. This happened right next to the exit off of Almeda.
Another issue that I have brought to their attention is the insurance charge on my account every month when I have provided my own insurance statement SEVERAL times.
When I moved in, the cabinets were VERY much destroyed (picture provided) and there has been no contact as to if or when they’ll be replaced — it’s so ugly and not like the photos they have on their website or social media: (
This place has a lot of work to do— I’m unsure why the ratings are as high as they are.

Iva is the best she was very patient with me. Every question i had she answered and also made she she always called me back. My move in process was easy. The neighborhood is quiet and clean and the people mind their business and are very friendly

Initially, I had my doubts about moving into this apartment due to some negative reviews on Google. However, after taking my mom along for a tour, we both preferred it over some of the other places we had visited before. Consequently, we signed the lease and moved in last August, and we have been extremely content with our decision ever since. I would say if there are any concerns, it's important to let the staff know and give them the chance to help.

Fortunately, I've only had positive experiences so far. The staffs and maintenance crew are very friendly and helpful, especially Iva who went above and beyond to ensure that everything went smoothly for us throughout the whole process. From the moment we moved in, we felt safe and secure in our new home. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful, which is exactly what we were looking for.

The location is unbeatable, you can literally see downtown from the apartment location, 5 minutes away from Herman Park. The units itself are very spacious with outside balcony. I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone!

RIP OFF COMPLEX/ NOT TRANSPARENT

Stella at the Medical Center adds extra charges that are not mentioned when leasing. The only additional fee discussed is $25 which is an amenity fee but every month you pay Conservice for water & sewer, water & sewer admin fee, trash, trash admin fee, recovery, drain fee and more.
Then Stella at the Medical Center charges a monthly trash $10 fee and trash admin which fee fluctuates each month. TRASH ADMIN IS PAID TWICE. There is NO VALET. TRASH but you're paying STELLA NOT Conservice $18-$23 additional to your monthly rent as mentioned because it fluctuates. Hallways, Stairs stained and soiled, Parking lot always dirty never cleaned from trash or shattered glass from vehicles that have been broken instead YOUR BEING RIPPED OFF AND WHEN YOU ADDRESS THESE CHARGES NO ONE LISTENS. Don't be fooled by their lies this property is not transparent find another apartment complex that has less charges or one that makes you aware of ALL monthly charges.

P. S. This review will not remain posted because Management doesn't want people to know THE TRUTH.

Dylan was so helpful over the phone with all of my questions. The property and staff were well put together and inviting. My overall experience was positive. I am grateful for the time Dylan took to help me through this process.

Caught one of the office workers staring into my window saturday afternoon while I was changing and the manager refuses to do anything about the employee. I believe his name was dylan ladies please stay away from this apartment and this creep

Went in for a tour & Wendy was very helpful! She was very welcoming & answered every question i had about the apartments. Loved her positive attitude!

Leasing office was so nasty walked in and a rat ran across my foot. The workers there were very unpleasant and I do think that rat was related to the male worker they had physical similarities.

The property is horrible! Especially the property manager Wendy Ramirez! She has horrible customer service & doesn’t like talking to residents about their issues. I even heard that she ran off the whole staff. Fair warning don’t lease here!

My husband and I recently had the pleasure to go on a tour with Dylan. He was great at breaking things down for us and answering any questions we had. Another review said something about rats, but I couldn’t imagine that being the case because the entire property was very clean and pleasing to the eyes. Dylan and Lanisha were beyond helpful and made this a great experience!

WARNING! AVOID THIS PLACE:

Do not be fooled by favorable reviews which are just as staged as leasing office with its opulent decorations designed to distract you from the truth.

The staged model apartment is also all show and distraction.

AIRBNB BUSINESS - The MANAGEMENT runs within the property inviting all sorts of loud and obtrusive strangers with no respect for the tenants some are even criminals with warrants.

They also cause more chaos because they typically order food deliveries all hours of the night and take over the amenities especially the pool, where parties of 20 or more unfriendly, non-resident, ghetto people gather at times. Playing music and smoking drugs.

NO SECURITY. ZERO - YOU and your property are NOT SAFE HERE! The security cameras are theatre.

EXTREMELY LOUD and DISRUPTIVE INDUSTRIAL CHEMICAL plant whose operations are 24/7/365; KIK Consumer Products. The beeping noises of trucks and screeching of trains are constant.

THREE STORIES, NARROW staircases and NO ELEVATORS.
NO DESIGNATED LOADING AREAS – No convenience.
The apartments are POORLY MAINTAINED

SLUM LORD Management – Very Ghetto, Do not look for any alumni working here.
POORLY MAINTAINED.

VEHICLE VANDALSIMS AND THEFTS go UNABATED
$1020/YEAR or $85/ MONTH for private parking.

Constant WATER CUTS-OFFS
WATER sprinklers constantly FLOOD the grounds.

The WATER PRESSURE is very low.

EXTREMLY SMALL 36 gallon water heaters, do not plan on a long showers.

PARTICLE BOARD counters

MILDEW/MOLD in ventilation ducts.

LOW GRADE APPLIANCES

IMPRACTICAL DESIGN: Cannot fit a wine glass in the cupboard Shelving.

UNASSIGNED PARKING and almost always FULL

UNINSULATED - WINDOWS and BALCONY DOORS leak heat and cold – Very costly to cool and heat.

DIRTY COMMON AREAS the soft cracked concrete areas are always DIRTY and almost NEVER CLEANED.

FAKE GYM is mostly there so they can say they have one and is under maintained and mostly a joke.

POORLY LABELED BUILDINGS – There is no easy way your guests will ever find you.

Came in for a tour with the wife. The location is perfect for what we are looking for. The prices are actually pretty decent given the area. The 2/2 is beyond what I expected! The staff was more than helpful with all questions we both had and very responsive when we called and asked questions. Much appreciation to Dylan for the tour and great hospitality.
