Stone Oak Urgent Care & Family Practice: Sudhir R. Gogu, DO, PhD, MBA, San Antonio TX

I should’ve read the 1 star reviews before going here. I was scammed. Went in for bloodwork only and was charged a co-pay for consultation. I asked the manager Monica and Dr. Gogu, nicely, as to why I got charged for a consul if I wasn’t there for a consultation and the doctor and the manager were rude. They both got defensive. The doctor said, “YOU CAN DO WHATEVER YOU WANT”. The manager said she would call me back the next day to see if the doctor approved a “courtesy” reimbursement after I got home and confirmed with my insurance that I wasn’t supposed to pay a co-pay for bloodwork. I don’t know why it would be courtesy reimbursement if it was THEIR MISTAKE. It’s been over THREE WEEKS since she said she would call me back and I haven’t gotten a single phone call. They made a mistake and they didn’t want to own up to it. What happened was that the doctor walked into the exam room TO GO OVER THE SAME EXACT RESULTS HE HAD ALREADY REVIEWED WITH ME ON THE LAST CONSULTATION (the one where he said to go back and do more bloodwork) and that’s why I got charged because according to them ANY INTERACTION WITH THE DOCTOR IS CHARGED. I would’ve gone to STRIC or to CPL to get the bloodwork done and they wouldn’t have charged a co-pay. I was patient and gave them more than enough time to make it right. I have proof of everything and how it happened. Gotta love technology and social media. I will be submitting complaints.

These folks are spot on, professional and courteous. They know and understand what ailments that are coming through the door and they're prepared for it. They practice their medicine with kindness and efficiency

To be fully transparent. Had a bit of a misunderstanding at with Dr. Gogu. It felt like he wasn’t listening when I explained my reason to visit and when I was diagnosed. He prescribed some meds that end up having adverse effects. I followed the protocol on the medication and came to him as soon as I could (about a week just to make sure the medication had time to work since I’ve never taken medication before). When telling Dr. Gogu it really felt like he had the thought that I was just some druggie or looking to take advantage of the system. We raised voices and he considered what I explained and prescribed something different which is working amazingly now. However That same day (due to the side affects of the med.he did end up making me cry in my car as a grown a** man). The staff is great to a fault. At first there was also some miscommunication about how the office is ran. I originally had my first appointment on a Friday. For work reasons I had to reschedule, the nurse told me I could come in Saturday for my physical & blood work as this was a new clinic for me. This however was not the case. On the weekends it’s ran as a ER and only functions as such during the weekend. They ended up still doing my physical and blood work to remedy the miscommunication. Now, for the positives, the staff are amazing, quick as all hell, and takes into strong consideration of what you are asking/ telling them. Dr. Gogu does mean very well for the patients he treats I always see him extremely personable with families and children. Despite my first & second visits, my most recent visit he did let me explain my full experience and he did take in all the info I provided and is continuing to help me out. I will stick with him for the time being just b/c improvements have definitely been made.

Dr. Gogu and his team were very thorough and took such good care of me and my urgent medical need. I refer them to everyone.

Dr. Gogu is an awesome physician. I went for a visit for my issue and he was able to give me comfort and guidance through the process and had my medication at the CVS within the 1/2 hour to start my road to recovery. His staff is top notch and I would highly recommend his practice in your in need of urgent care in the Stone Oak area. Stop looking and give him a call or go on their website and book an appointment. Keep in mind that they open at 9: 00 AM

I would save your money and go elsewhere. I always make an appointment but usually have to wait anywhere from 30min-1hour extra wait time. Will not bill your insurance correctly and send you bills but then never answer the phone or call you back.

I’m mainly leaving this review for the NP Mary. SHE IS AMAZING! I’ve only came across Dr. Gogu 2 times since going there and nice man but I always feel rushed and not listened to. Mary sympathizes with you and has awesome bed side manner. Go see her!

This place is a waste of time! Dr. Gogu only sees you for a minute or 2 and sends you on your way. Then to make it even better he sends you with a prescription he THINKS WILL WORK. IF NOT HE WANTS YOU TO COME BACK! He doesn't care about his patients only your money. Strongly suggest going elsewhere. This is my last time coming!

Loved how they actually care about your health and well-being. The nurse practitioner was amazing and attentive. She explains to you exactly what is going on with you and why you have the symptoms you do which I really appreciate that. I totally recommend going here.

This medical practice is of the highest professional level from the time you check in until you leave. The staff and doctors are patient, understanding, and eager to assist you in easing your sickness and concerns. The doctor and PA provides and shares their tremendous medical knowledge and home style techniques of medicines that they’ll have you back to feeling better in a short amount of time. This office knows how to get you in and out in good fashion. So glad that I lucked up and found this office. Definitely beyond 5 Stars!

I went into this practice for the first time with a very serious injury, which had just been diagnosed by the ER 2 days prior (Sunday). I was advised that I needed to seek urgent care & surgical intervention by an orthopedic surgeon in order to prevent irreversible damage.

My insurance plan still required that I obtain a referral from my PCP to see the surgeon.

—I originally had a PCP that was unresponsive and unavailable most of the time. —

I called my insurance and switched my PCP to Dr. Gogu, located at the Stone Oak Urgent Care and Family Practice.

I called the office and immediately reached a friendly voice. After explaining my situation, they fit me in right away.

I saw the nurse practitioner, Mary Patterson. She examined me, reviewed my ER records, and asked the appropriate clinical questions to make sure she understood how to help me obtain the appropriate care I needed following my visit.

Along with the awesome office staff, with a shout out to the referral coordinator, they were able to literally move mountains to make sure I had the referral necessary to see my orthopedic surgeon right away.

Thank you guys so much for making such a bad situation so much easier on me!

Dr. Gogu is an awesome physician. I went for a visit for my stomach pain, and he provided a sense of comfort, understanding, and knowledge on my visit. He took all the precautions to get an answer to my symptoms. We did labs, radiology, and in-house testing and we narrowed it down to my right diagnosis. He is a fast doctor but he’s very smart and knows what he needs to order to take care of you. The staff is great and nice, took a little long but definitely shorter time than a hospital wait time. And the prices for self pay are VERY VERY REASONABLE. I went to the ER and just one X-ray was over 1k. He charged me no more that $200 for the same X-ray. I would recommend him if you don’t have insurance and need health care, need to see a doctor who is always accepting new patients and need a new PCP. He’s great.
I would recommend making an appointment to get seen in a decent time, but he does take walk ins and that’s what’s unique about his practice.

You will pay an URGENT CARE FEE on the weekends! 3 different ppl walked in (including us) & were very upset that they were not told over the phone that weekends are ONLY for Urgent Care visits. No follow ups or prescription refills, blood work/physicals on weekends. You can't even establish a new PCP. Receptionist will tell you that you can be seen anyway but it's up to the provider if they want to provide general services. Don't waste your time coming here because the front desk girl was rude & had the audacity to charge someone a cancellation fee because Stone Oak receptionist doesn't give out the correct information about their services when you schedule an appointment. One man even took a Lyft to get there & it was a waste for him because he also didn't get the memo about Urgent Care only on weekends. We walked out because of this.

Doctor is busy but cares, you’ll need to ask for help. Difficult to get through on the phone, you must be patient if you call. Otherwise a one stop shop for all your medical needs.

Dr Gogu is a good knowledgeable Dr. I have been going here for years. Sometimes there is a wait but more times than not I am in and out in under an hour. I have taken my 3 kids there for sports physicals I have used their weight loss program and my daughter received her final vaccination for college today. Very good neighborhood Dr.

Need to get with the times and have online secure payments. Not sending a letter with credit card info with back 3 digit pin and personal details as payment. If the wrong person got it they could have everything to go to town on the internet buying stuff.

These people can't bother with updating what insurance they take. I never got a clear answer either over the phone. I was told at first they take Medicare/Humana then she turns around and says they don't. What a waste of time.

The front desk was rode to me and I didn’t like that at all.
Everything is taking longer than usual I probably not going to back again.
I felt like the doctor is not listening to me and give me the medicine that I’m allergic because he didn’t listen when I told him that before.
