Strategic Home Defense has been top notch from communication prior to class, information during class, and follow ups after. The owners and instructors truly take their time to meet you where you are and calm any nerves you have and help you progress towards your goals. As a female who has been around guns but not one who shoots I was very nervous and intimidated going into this class but left feeling like I had blocks to build with and continue on. I look forward to coming back for more!

The class was very in depth and well rounded. The instructors were patient and extremely knowledgeable in the field. I will definitely be taking more classes from them!

I took the women's basic pistol class and am super happy I did. We went over everything you need to know about firearm saftey, loading, unloading, firing the weapon and started on marksmanship. I feel so comfortable with my firearm now. I will feel totally confident going to a gun range on my own to practice everything I learned in class.

I took the basic pistol course and loved it! Steve is highly knowledgeable and patient instructor. We had a mixed class that included experienced shooters to students who had never handled a firearm before. Steve took the time to make sure everyone was able to safely and effectively complete the firing iterations. Highly recommend this course for everyone.

I am so glad that I attended the women's handgun course! Steve really knows what he's doing. Instruction was clear and thorough and he did a great job of managing the group setting with safety being priority. He and Jaz both had a calm, grounding and matter of fact demeanor which was really helpful. What I appreciated the most was Steve's awareness and ability to read body language. He helped me move through some elevated nerves my first time to shoot a handgun! I am super grateful for this experience

Steve answered my questions via email, assuring me I would be provided with what I needed for the class (I did not own any equipment). It was a smaller than usual class, with just three men and me, the only woman. The men were all experienced. Steve gave them instruction for their level, and me instruction for mine. I felt included and cared for, without ever feeling patronized or talked down to. My experience in the four hour class was a good one. After my 90 min drive home, I felt surprisingly exhausted. The class evidently required more mental focus, hand strength, and hand-eye coordination than I normally use. I recommend Steve's class to anyone looking to learn.
