I'm sure the staff are extremely capible and nice however replacing a Houston icon with concept restaurant was a terrible idea.

Waitress was very nice, courteous, and attentive. The General Manager was a miserable impish brute who was rude to customers and waitstaff alike. How he obtained a managerial role is beyond me.

As a frequent flier in and out of Hobby, I used to look forward to the food and drink options at Hobby while I waited for my flight. I know that this is a temporary restaurant until the new restaurants are put in place, but they aren't even trying. The physical menu I received looked like it had been chewed on by a dog before I received it. No draft beer available even though it was listed on the menu and of the bottle beers half were also unavailable (all the local beers were not available). Service was incredibly slow compared to the number of customers at the time, and the food was just ok but definitely not worth the price they are charging. Thankfully I wasn't in a rush to catch my flight because the staff was in no hurry. Finally there was a sour/unclean smell that lingered in the restaurant like the restaurant was cleaned with dirty mop water.

Bottom line: If you are looking for the same level and quality of service when the location was Pappasitos, you will be disappointed. Go look elsewhere.

**Edit went back to give them a second chance. Somehow it got worse. The stale dirty smell was still present throughout the restaurant. This restaurant needs a deep clean and/or a serious look from the health inspector. None of the draft beers were available because the taps were all broken. Bartender almost served me dirty glasswear but stopped himself at the last second. I didn't even bother ordering food this time because I didn't want tht disappointment after seeing what some of my neighbors plates looked like.

It ain't Pappas, had texas breakfast, eggs & toast were good, sausage no flavor at all.nice job Hou!

Espresso martini as advertised vs what I got.
I asked for espresso to add to martini (having only taken 1 sip) and was brought more of the concoctions at no additional charge, I clarified that I meant actual espresso and was told they didn't have espresso.which is listed in in the drink description. I don't think the waitress knew/understood the issue, but the bartender should have stepped in and said they couldn't make it.

Pleas bring back Pappasito’s. Menu has only a very few items and the food is like typical frozen bar food.

If it were possible to give zero stars I would they had half the things on the menu not available we waited 20 minutes for a server and 30 minutes to sit down and a half empty restaurant they wouldn’t Citizen because no one was there to clean the tables avoid this at all costs sure do miss Pappas restaurants.

Ms. Tennille Hunt was amazing. I asked for a jalapeño margarita that was on the menu. Unfortunately she didnt have the mix but she improvised and went out of her way to go to the kitchen and get jalapeños to make her own. And from someone who had Been around the top mixologist In the country in Las Vegas she made one of the best spicy jalapeño Margaritas I’ve had. I would recommend anyone to visit Ms. Tennile for her exceptional service. She really is too good for this place.

4th largest city in the nation. Houston this is not a good representation of what the food scene has to offer. How sad and depressing to sit down to eat and get shoveled this food. Good staff but this just fell flat. It’s a hard pass for me. They are just turn out food with no thought.

Horrible service. Bartenders on the evening of 10/5 were in outer space. Never even able to place an order. Wasn’t busy.

So slow. Bring back old management company. The Togo line is slower than eating in restaurant.

If it weren't for the server, who was excellent, mainly for telling us that the taps were spitting out nasty stuff and that we shouldn't order this or that because it's a rip off for what you get, I would leave 1 Star.

The 17$+ burger was nothing better than a big box store frozen puck. The bread and butter pickles were good however.

Papasitos getting ousted for this place is asinine.

Our server Ivy was fantastic. We stayed twice as long and spent twice as much as we wouldn't have had we had a mediocre waitress. We'll be back to this place next time we're in this terminal if Ivy is working.

I hate paying good money for bad food and poor service, but that is what I did at this restaurant. Very disappointed that Pappas restaurants no longer in Hobby airport. The Texas Breakfast was a big disappointment served lukewarm. When the bill came the total made me feel sick; furthermore when I had to work the mini register myself the server was very rude and grabbed my card and grunted as she had to run the card herself. I guess it is time to pack snacks on the next flight to Hobby.

Cold scrambled eggs-i think powered eggs no less. Worse than terrible. The toast was good although a bit cild and moist. The jelly packet was okay. Never and I mean never again. 25 bucks? Worth leaving the airport for a snack.

6 people at the bar and the bartender was too busy on his phone to wait on anybody. I waited 10 minutes before I finally walked away. With so few places to eat and drink in the airport you would think whoever owns this would want to maximize profit. But like me a couple of other people walked away.

I don’t usually write reviews but STAY AWAY from The Tinga Tacos (their signature) it was Horrible. Maybe the other entrées are better. The cilantro rice had hard pieces of rice in it! How does the chief not know how to cook rice! Sorry, this food was too expensive to be bad. The server looked like they worked her to death! She had too many tables to serve and she was so sweet. That’s the only reason this place has three stars. The front staff looks like they were doing their job (working hard) but it seems short staffed. Anyway…go if you have no other options at Hobby International Airport.

We witnessed a disturbing interaction between an elderly patron and the bartender. The patron asked what the service fee was on her charged credit card ticket and stated it wasn’t on her original receipt. The bartender took offense and responded in irritation and stated the patron was accusing her of adding it to the receipt. The patron calmly explained she was simply trying to understand what the charge is. The bartender then turned away another patron, and called the manager over after several minutes of uncomfortable responses to the patron. The manager credited the ticket and the patron left a tip for the bartender who told her she didn’t want it. This was very uncomfortable. Terrible service.

Mimosas and Nachos hard to beat! Had a great experience with our large group at STReat. Ivy was a wonderful & attentive server who made our experience so fun.
