Sun Auto Service, Cedar Park TX

I went in this morning at 0830 and asked about an inspection, 5 tire rotation, and oil change for my Jeep. Everyone seemed super nice, they quoted me $85 for the oil change and tire rotation and $18 for the inspection. I was told about 2.5 hours is what it would take. I ran errands and popped back in about 12: 45 when I hadn’t heard anything, asking if they knew how much longer and was told “I have no idea”. I went home to wait and called back about 2pm asking if they knew how much longer and they said they just finished it. When I got there I presented a $15 coupon and was told it would be $125 because they were charging for oversized tires. No issues with the extra charge except I wasn’t told this morning, no one called me to update me on the cost or that it was going to be 5 and a half hours instead of 2 and a half. The dash had also not been reset which isn’t a big deal but makes me wonder what other details were missed. In this case it would have been cheaper for me to go to the dealership which is never the case.

Lack of communication and accountability for sure as no one even addressed it when I came to pick it up. Unfortunately won’t be customers here again.

Had oil change done very good work. The coupon was true very good price for oil change very good service and people that work there.

Went in to get an oil change until I found out it was going to be over $100! Sun USED to be one of the most reasonable places to go. I could get an oil change for $48.99. I don't know what changed but.until they come back to earth.they won't see me again until they come back to reality.

David and his team are great here! They’re always honest and reliable, willing to help me understand what’s wrong with my vehicle, and never pressure me to do any excessive work (they just let me know what they recommend as best).

Had no idea what I was doing, never had to deal with this sort of job. First time I had a warranty too and didn't really know how that worked. Not only did these guys explain everything they even helped me. Will be going to them from here on out and would recommend it to anyone who needs some car work done.

I go to Sun Auto often, and am usually pleased. However I was upset that they create a coupon that they don’t take. The CSA just said “I wish they’d quit running that coupon”. However he would not honor it. I thought that as a repeat customer they would appreciate my business.

UPDATE; Store manager David called me this morning, discussing what happened and quickly rectified the situation. As my go to mechanic I was happy to hear from him and not only did he apologize for the misunderstanding but he, as usual, made me again feel like a valued customer!

These guys are absolutely amazing. I was driving my Hellcat home and noticed the temperature start to rise so I pulled over immediately and turned it off. Luckily I was within walking distance of this auto repair shop. I found out that I blew a fan cooling fuse I walked in the shop, showed the guys my blown fuse they dug around, found the exact fuse I needed, and simply gave it to me and said have a good day. Be safe, you don’t owe us anything, if I ever need any repair work, I will absolutely use these guys in the future simply for how friendly they were and caring. I wish them all the best and I highly recommend this company.

Went in to have alternator replaced. They found leaking valve covers and water pump. Had everything repaired or replaced.

I've been coming to Sun Auto Cedar Park since they opened in 2011. They have always provided great service and advice. They did great job again today.

The nature of my issue is not unique to Sun Auto. Most of the standard franchise auto shops would make it imperative that you replace your oil pan when the threads of the pan are stripped.

I happened to catch the highly personable crew on a busy day, 10/24/22.

After I dropped off at ~3p they called at 5: 30p before they closed at 6p with the news that the 'right way' to fix this issue would take until the following day. To replace the oil pan on my CR-V they quoted me $1300 w/tax.

Labor is expensive and about 4 hours go into the procedure.

I appreciate these guys personality, and I found a different solution than the costly repair.

The gentleman at the front end was understandably plaintive about the fact that we were asking them to drop my car from the lift so that we might push it into the parking lot to find a different solution.

Got an oil change and inspection. Nothing fancy, but the work was completed in less than two hours. The staff was courteous and efficient. Clean waiting room with a table to work on my laptop. WiFi available.

Great first time experience! They stayed open after hours to make sure my vehicle was ready to go for me! Would recommend them to anyone! All the staff I had an interaction with was extremely kind!

A couple months ago, they replaced one of my front wheel bearing sets after it had started making a roaring noise. At the time the other set of bearings on the other wheel we’re not making noise so I didn’t have the other wheels bearings replaced. Recently, the other wheel started making the same noise as the previous. So I notified Sun Auto I was bringing it in on Sunday night so they could work on it Monday morning and get it back to me in time for me to go to work Monday afternoon. They called me Monday morning early and indicated they couldn’t recall which wheel they had initially fixed. Unfortunately I couldn’t recall either. Evidently their business software was down and they couldn’t look up the previous work order. They did indicate they could pull a Carfax and make that determination. Monday afternoon at 3 PM I called to let them know I was on my way to pick up my truck. The gentleman informed me that they were having trouble diagnosing the noise and they hadn’t done anything to begin the repairs. They knew I needed my truck to go to work. They made no contact with me to keep me informed as to their lack of progress. Not only are they unprofessional regarding how they treat their customers but evidently customers aren’t their priority.
