This is true old school soul food. My family tries to eat here every time we are in the DFW area and I've become a smothered turkey wings and dressing fanatic. I've tried most of the other sides with sweet potatoes as the forerunner. As far as the desserts go, I have yet to find one that I didn't like. We don't come for the atmosphere. We come for some good eating of well seasoned, crave worthy, eye-popping serving sized and deeeliish food!

Great soul food spot. You can eat twice off their plate. I had the Beef tips and rice, Mac n cheese, and greens. Worth every penny.

The area was out of the way but the trip is well worth it. The food was cooked and seasoned well. The fried pork chop is to die for along with the candied yams & collard greens were busting. The portions were off the hook. Had to tap out and still barely finished half the plate.

Good Food and plenty of food one dinner plate was dinner and lunch for me. Excellent soul food and great service.

I come here for this soul food everytime I touch Dallas texas. All of the food is great, only thing driving from out of town I would love to dine and eat my food. They do NOT ALLOW dine in. It does not change the quality and quantity of the food!

The staff is AMAZING, very welcoming and the price you pay for your food is nothing compared to the portion size they give you, it is enough to feed 4 people and the food was DELICIOUS.

Don't let this little secret mecca of soul and comfort food get out to the world! Holy cow this place is awesome!

I've been coming here for 13 years and so happy to walk through the door each time. 99% of the time we are the only white folks standing in line. Don't take that the wrong way. That means the food is being done RIGHT when the local community flocks there to get some comfort food.

You better get there early and bring an appetite. Servings are dished out in copious amounts in a takeaway container because they know you'll be taking home leftovers. Get the greens! You'll thank me for it. If you like hot links, they have a solid kick to them. Beef is fall apart tender.

The only downside is that the cornbread is unsweetened and a bit dry at times. Other than that, this is my go to spot when I'm hungry and looking for some gluttony.

Get there before 1700, or you'll be waiting while they do shift change. And unless you get there before noon on a Sunday, you'll want to wait until after 1400 because the line is around the building after church.

One word to the wise. When the meat is gone, it's gone. They cook enough for the day and when they run out you better have another choice ready.

This was the nastiest food I ever had in long time big mash everything was mushy the dressing didn't even taste like sage and broccoli and rice and cheese was didn't even taste solid it was mushy the meatloaf was hideous a big block of sweet teriyaki tomato sauce meatloaf is hideous I got the personal sweet potato and it was nasty didn't even taste like sweet spent $54 had to throw away one of my Plates

We just went Sunday and I made sure to get two plates this time. Haven't been in years, but have been going since I was 16 I'm 42. I'm from East Texas and no matter what you order pretty much this is by far the best soul food eatery hands down. "Heavenly Food. "

This is the.and I repeat. This is the place to enjoy grandma's soul food that can bring back memories of a home cooked meal.i appreciate the food and the service and the cooks that put it down in the kitchen

Some good ole fashion soul food. Portion size is amazing you will eat 2 or 3 times on your meal. The yams and the collard greens is so phenomenal. Worth a try. I loved the catfish and pork chops but them sausages be looking so tasty too.

We have gone here several times and never been disappointed. The best catfish and ribs anywhere!

Great restaurants, plenty of food they put on your plate, since I am old school from South Carolina, I absolutely love their kool-aid

My first time here…OMG the food was amazing! Staff was were very nice! I’m here on business and been here 3 weeks, the best meal I ate yet and still eating on it… They give you plenty! If I could rate them a 100 stars I would! I’m leaving Wednesday but I will back in Dallas, this is one place I will definitely come to again! My name is Christopher by way of Florida…. I, my nephew and a friend ate here some years ago as we were traveling through visiting. Also my daughter and I went back during the years before COVID. My nephew, and his friend sat down in the dining area and ate. The food was pretty good! The staff was nice. The next time that my daughter and I went there, we started to sit in, but the wait area wasn't where she wanted to eat, so we got up and took out carryout back to her place. The food was OK, but it just wasn't the hype. Now that I have moved here to the Dallas area, I will take my grandson with me to place our orders to try it again!

Down home soul food restaurant in the inner city (southern sector of Dallas). There were many selections to choose from, the food was fresh and hot, service was top notch. There aren't a lot of dining tables which leads me to believe that many patrons prefer carryout. I'll be back!
