Sylvan Learning of Cypress & Houston

My son had been doing so-so in Reading/Language Arts in 4th grade and when we got his STAAR test results just before starting 5th grade, we saw a big decline and knew we needed some extra help for him. We found Sylvan, took the initial assessment and saw he was just barely at a 5th grade level. Our hope and goal was for him to get ahead of where he needed to be and help build some of his confidence. We started going to Sylvan once a week for a two hour session for Reading. After about a month we saw his grades getting better, his vocabulary expanding and more confidence. After about three months, we started to incorporate Writing sessions. In almost six months time, our son mastered all the 5th grade level topics for Reading and was well into some 6th grade topics. He has gained a better understanding and his grades have started to reflect that. There is more consistency in his grades and he has more confidence. Appreciate all the tutors and staff at Sylvan and have to give a special shout-out to Mr. Antonio. Thank you all for your help. Highly recommend Sylvan for extra practice for your child and to catch them up or get them a little ahead of their grade level!

Our youngest son has been going to Sylvan for a few months to prepare for 1st grade. When he first started, he was half a year behind in studies and a week before school starts I can say he is ready for 1st grade thanks to Sylvan! All the teachers and staff have been great, engaging him and making him want to learn even when the subject doesn’t interest him. So happy we brought him here, thank you to everyone at Sylvan!

Sylvan has been a tremendous help keeping my daughter learning and prepping for 3rd grade! They have a great system to keep kids motivated and the teachers and staff are very attentive. I appreciate the frequent check ins to keep me up to date on her progress. Definitely will recommend Sylvan to a friend!

Sylvan has one of my kids go from a 3rd grade reading level in 6th grade to an 8th grade reading level in over 7 months through hours of hard work. We can not thank them enough. We have now been here over 15 months and won't be stopping any time soon. My kids are now doing the writing program and the progress is amazing.

We enrolled at this location for supplemental reading reinforced as our son transitions to a new grade. His progress thus far has been exceptional and also the staff has been very professional, hands on, and transparent.flexible scheduling has been great. We are very happy with our decision.

Sylvan has been the most worthwhile sacrifice I have ever made for my grandson. Alyssha and Natalie are the consumate professionals with kindness and understanding in abundance thrown in, not to mention unflappable in dealing with all age groups of kids and family situations. A big hat tip to both. My grandson is improving something I didn't think possible a year ago before Sylvan. Kudos Sylvan you have a winning formula here.

I had a 2 pm appointment and I was sitting in waiting room for over an hour manager had left station with no one knowing where they were and just completely useless use another facility if you can.

UTTERLY USELESS AND PAINFULL, Id be reporting the same to my employer who booked my appointment at this location.

I'm a mom of 3 girls. My 1st experience with a learning center/tutoring service was about 8 years ago with my older daughter who spent a whole year at Kumon. 1 year comtract one hr a week on the same day at the same time every week. I didn't saw any improvement. Now I was needing tutoring services for my 16 y/o and i decided to check sylvan as i didn't want to go back to kumon due to my daughter's learning disabilitie, i assum kumomt won't be a good fit due to my previous experience with them. Well, I couldn't choose better. So many good things to say about sylvan. I enrolled my daughter and mention her Lerning disability and my concerns about sylvan's ability to deal with Kids like my daughter. Alisha was so helpful and understood our needs. She was so clear on explaining my opinion. My daughter has been in sylvan for about 4 months now and her grades has been improving tremendously. I'm shocked that my daughter is showing interest and excitement about Math!
Me as a parent love the flexibility to scheduling my daughter's tutoring hrs and the payment options they offer. Im so impress by Alisha.she is THE BEST, always greeting us with her beautiful smile and her cheerful attitude doing everything she can to change or accommodate whatever we need. Truly an awesome person.
I'm so thankful she is there to help us every time we need it.
The only thing I regret is enrolling my oldest daughter at kumon years ago.
