Sylvan Learning of Waco & Woodway reviews
7We recently enrolled our 4th grader in to Sylvan. I am very pleased with his progress in just a short few months. The staff are great and their care for the kids shows. They have walked me through each step and his progress. Our student always looks forward to tutoring each day, which is awesome! Highly recommend!
It ended up my son needed more medically based reading assistance so I pulled him out of his program early. I wish I had known sooner, however, during his time there he did make some improvements with his reading. Having said that, good luck getting any refunds from the owners at this location. I’ve been waiting since June and they still owe me nearly $1,000.
My son has been going since May for reading and I’ve seen such a tremendous improvement on his reading skills. I would definitely recommend!
Is it worth it? Absolutely. Our oldest attended Sylvan the summer of 2022 and February 2023 through the summer of 2023.was in Kindergarten when COVID quarantine started. The ISD did not do a good job of backtracking when he started 1st grade. He was behind in reading and I could not get him caught up. We started Sylvan the summer after 2nd grade. He has improved grade levels in reading since we started Sylvan. As parents, we have been VERY involved with his reading teacher for 3rd grade. She saw an improvement in his reading skills a few weeks after starting Sylvan again in February. We will continue with Sylvan in the future as needed.
Took daughter for eval to help with test taking skills, they have parents leave the building. Came back later and they had her at the front desk, parents in the waiting room talking, someone speaking on the phone in the same office with her, the door opening and closing very loudly squeaking. This is not how you evaluate someone's test taking skills in this loud, distracting environment.
My children are progressing alone well. They collaborate very well with the school to ensure everyone is on the same accord.
