Szechuan Spice Restaurant, Pearland TX

Got my food to go and they left the sauce container open which spilled into the entire bag and ruined the bag and my day. Other than that, food was solid

If i could give this restaurant more stars I would. The food is so DELICIOUS and authentic. The staff are very attentive and wonderful. Highly recommend this place.

I had left a review before based on my previous experience. So, I thought I should give an updated review since they made a change after I left my previous review. I ordered the crispy pork steak and I must say, it was notably tastier this time around. I also tried their broccoli with beef and pepper steak, and both were very tasty with good portions. As a result, I've become a regular at this place. This is one of the best Chinese/Szechuan restaurant around here in Pearland, so I definitely would recommend this to anyone.

PREVIOUS REVIEW: I really want to give this place a great review because their food tastes so much better than the other Chinese restaurants nearby. Also, everyone who I’ve talked to on the phone whenever I place my order has been nice. This is my second time ordering from this place and I ordered mapo tofu and the crispy pork steak again. The first time I ordered the crispy pork steak, it was a little bland, not enough garlic. So when I ordered the second time I asked for the extra garlic. I was very appreciative because they delivered with the extra garlic and it was even tastier this time. But I was very disappointed when I saw some parts of the pork that were not cooked very well. I had to throw half of it away. There was too much breading and the meat inside didn’t cook well. The mapo tofu that I ordered was with the beef but there wasn’t enough beef on it. A LOT OF TOFU, but no beef. So I basically paid extra for nothing. I really wish they’ll do things differently this time and I’m willing to give it another try. This restaurant’s really got a potential.

The food here is delicious! This is not your typical Chinese restaurant. It is two steps above and superb! Look for the authentic recipes because they are wonderful. We will most definitely be back!

I really like the food at this restaurant. I’ve eaten here and gotten takeout several times. Szechuan Spice is in my top two Szechuan style restaurants in the Houston area. Looking for a Szechuan restaurant close to home, I stumbled on Szechuan Spice. I’m so happy I did.

The parking lot here seems to fill up quickly but there are usually a few spaces available. The ambiance inside is mostly quiet and very casual. The staff is polite and helpful whether I’m dining in or taking out.

The first dish I ever tried here was the Cumin Lamb after being introduced to it by a friend. This is a fantastic, flavorful dish and while very spicy, it doesn’t overwhelm or take away from the savory flavors of the lamb or vegetables. The cumin flavor is excellent and blends perfectly with the other spices.

Another spicy dish I recommend there is the Three Flavor Pepper Chicken. I wasn’t prepared for the flavor packed into this chicken! The crispy breading hiding the succulent, juicy chicken mixed with chili’s and peppercorns was amazing! The portion size is incredible as well.

Not wanting to stop the spice journey, I’ve also indulged in several fish dishes. Boiled fish in Hot Sauce, Hot and Spicy Fish, Fish Jump Out of Water, Spicy Fish Fillet with Soft Tofu, Crispy Fish in Thai Chili.
Holy Mackerel Batman! When it comes to fish, Szechuan Spice doesn’t miss! No jokes or riddles here. Cat Woman would love all the fishies here.

I really cannot decide what my favorite dish is. Cumin Lamb and Hot and Spicy Fish might be my top two but narrowly so. You cannot go wrong with anything I’ve recommended so far.

Egg rolls, Cheese Crab Puffs and Hot and Sour Soup are all good as well.

You may not expect to find some of the best Szechuan food in the Houston area in Pearland but you would be pleasantly surprised to find out you could be missing out. Don’t miss out! If you have no reason to come to Pearland, you have one now. Check this place out asap!

Pretty much everything I’ve had here has been good but my new favorite dish is the Salt & Pepper Shrimp. It was very delicious and flavorful. I also love the Hot and Sour soup.

The hot and sour recipe is not good! I ordered in, and maybe the heat was too much for the breading, but it was falling apart and the chicken was a bit dry. My husbands 3 pepper chicken was great. Wish they had more vegetables sides for smart eating. I may come back and try something else.

Update- I really do enjoy these flavors ever so often and I am a big fan of the fried fish with chili sauce, so I wanted to come back and update because the food so good. Everyone so nice there as well!

The food here is sooo good! I usually order for delivery, but it's always steaming hot when it arrives. Flavors are great on all the different dishes. Number one to try (in my opinion) is the Three Flavor Pepper Chicken, but really, anything you order will be awesome! I did go inside once to order takeout, and while it was packed, everyone was still courteous and I didn't have to wait long to place an order.

Really enjoyed our visit here. Don’t know tye name of the dishes since our friend already preordered, but everything was delicious. The Peking duck usually comes with steam bun baos, but here they give you in-house rice base tortillas and honestly I like this option. Feels lighter hence you can eat more not feeling too guilty. The popcorn chicken in the basket was seasoned and fried nicely. The braised fish in the chili broth was awesome. And priced really well! Definitely recommend!

Little to no vegetables in the pad thai. The “half duck” was really just two duck legs which were very bland and lacked flavor.

I ordered $50 worth of food and when I picked it up, I asked for hot chili oil. She gave me 1 little container. I asked for a 2nd one and she paused like I I had asked for a discount. Stop being so cheap!

Came in to order food to go, the servers acted like they didn’t care when they got the order wrong, they charged extra for their mistake and then proceeded to not notify when the food was ready and just had me sit there and wait extra time

They’re getting lazy. Me and my husband used to love this place when it first opened, however…. They don’t cook to order anymore. We always order the Oranges chicken and it’s always tough like they microwaved the chicken. The fried rice is never fully cooked and is sometimes still hard.

Please stop rushing to serve orders for the money and get back to what matters…the quality of the food. We spend with y’all weekly we are regulars and it’s always a hit or a miss. Be consistent please that’s all we ask. Or we will look elsewhere.

Place is amazing. The kung Pao was delicious and the portions are huge! I still had to eat my girlfriend's plate, but that's only because I'm a glutton. Highly recommend.

Be careful, if they don't like what you tip they take it upon themselves to give a tip they like. Won't return or recommend shady deceptive procedures and I would say illegal. Tips aren't mandatory it's a courtesy.

Food is always good service is great and the atmosphere is very euphoric. My take out meal is combo lo mein super good with 2 fried eggs. Damn it be good!
