Best place to go have lunch and dinner specials good enchiladas food is always hot chips are always good and crispy the waitress is awesome very nice family environment good food good ideas good service good sweet tea everything is awesome about this place I go practically every two days go see Chata she's the best waitress she's very nice quick and on it.

Affordable prices and great food. The staff is very attentive. I suggest the breakfast tacos and the cheese enchiladas. Chefs kiss! I travel twenty minutes just for there food. Trust me it’s worth it!

Great no-frills taco place. Handmade corn and flour tortillas are excellent. I had three tacos: carne guisada, barbacoa, and asada. They came out quickly. All were good, but the best by far was the asada, closely followed by the barbacoa. My waitress graciously gave me a to-go cup for my iced tea.
You pay at the counter, where you'll find a selection of desserts and Mexican candies.
Fast, friendly staff.

The good has authentic home made flavor. We enjoyed the small town restaurant atmosphere with friendly staff and very reasonable prices. We will definitely come back to try other dishes.

Service was trash waitress just all sit at a table talking and not walking around doing there job and the food wasn't good either never go back nor recommend it to anyone

So I heard a rumor that the BEST chicken fried steak in ALL of good ol’ San Antonio is at a place called Tacos El Rey - and that they only serve these fabled and supposed best chicken fried steaks on “chicken fried steak night” - so we called and they told us that “chicken friend steak night” is Tuesday night - and so here we are! - and man oh man, this chicken fried steak is out of this world, amazing - I think it might actually be THE best chicken fried steak in San Antonio!

The food was okay not anything to make you wanna come back. They serve you on paper plates and give you plastic forks and knives. They charge an extra 25 cents just to make your tortilla tostada which is ridiculous. They also charge for every single to go item.i. E.to even just take the food to go…25 cents, cups and plates to go. 25 cents (each one). Like to toast a tortilla an extra minute, as if it takes so much work to do that, it costs you money. I laugh at this place.

The atmosphere and servers were very good. The only thing i didn't like that the flour tortillas were hard to eat. The corn tortillas were perfect.

We love your refried beans, they are the bomb.go there all the time, many memories of my mom️ taking her there. She loved the beans.

My sister was visiting from Denver and I brought her here. I told her to order the refried beans and she cried because they tasted like mom’s that’s the best endorsement the food tastes like mom’s

I loved thier food! A little expensive but the service is good and satisfactory! They conversate with u and make u feel welcomed! The food is fresh and hot! I almost forgotten what a hot plate of food is until I went there! The owners are real lovable and really take the time to make u feel welcomed!

You can have your choice of fried fish with in housemaid tartar sauce (the freaking best) or a chicken fried chicken with gravy both come with a sweet tea! HUBBY loves the chicken fried chicken and I love the fish and tartar sauce; it's always made to order. Always hot and fresh. It's the best!

Love the food, very well prepared, prices are more than reasonable, friendly waitresses, fast and place is very clean.

I've going to Tacos El Rey since I was a kid and I swear it's never changed. Its has the best TexMex Food next to Moms. I highly recommend!

Horrible service the employees don’t listen to their customers and get your order wrong making it very stressful and embarrassing would have been easier to just cook at home and when you tell the manager he shows you he doesn’t care either right in front of you. I’ve been going there for years not the same not worth your hard earned money or time smh
