Tainan Bistro (台南小吃）, Houston TX

The best thing here is their oyster omelette 蚝煎/柯仔煎, which is very famous in Guangdong or Taiwan. Other bento boxes are also very delicious. The store has been open since 2016, when I was a student - very high value and friendly to students, we could spend less than 10$ for a full meal. You cannot find such a delicious fast food store anymore anywhere. We left Houston 2019 but I always missed their oyster pancake and today I brought my whole family back to this restaurant. I wish there is something similar in Austin!

The clean restaurant. The cuisine is delicious. The soup “Taiwanese Style Pork in Thick Soup “was sold out in “2023 Taiwan yes market”. Especially I recommend the new plates “Taiwanese steak with spaghetti “ and “chicken steak with spaghetti “. They offer two sauces for opinions: ” black pepper sauce“ and “ mushroom sauce“. They provide kind service.

Cheap and delicious Taiwanese food. Had some amazing finds such as oyster omelette, large intestine and pig blood, Taiwanese snacks.

Learned from a friend yesterday that this place served Taiwanese night market style food. Went to try it out today. Good Taiwanese night market food, reasonable price with big volume. However, the selections were less than what I was hoping for. Hope they will further expand the selections. They also server other Taiwanese cousins as well as Panda Express style fast food, carry out or dine in.

The place is clean and well organized. It's a large seating area with large tables. I visited on a Saturday around 3 pm. There were still a couple of patrons eating.

I am disappointed that the majority of their menu is defunct. I ask for a couple of things, like pan fried buns, but it looks like they only make mostly wontons now. I may have come at an odd time, but the cashier said they don't make the stuff that I pointed to on the menu anymore. I ended up getting the apparently taiwanese style scallion pancake and a pork and cabbage steamed dumpling. Both of them did not taste fresh, and were overly bready. The chilli oil is fantastic though!

There were steel wires in the eggplant larvae in the lunch box. After reporting this to the boss, the boss actually replied that it had happened two years ago.

This place is awesome. $7 for a platter with 2 entrees and 2 veggies. Plenty of food. Their Taiwanese sausage was good. LOVED their oyster omelette with the sweet & sour sauce. I'm still salivating over it. It's a no-frills place but the food is good. I'd love to come back and try their other dishes.

I have never been to such a bad restaurant. The food was very dirty. The pig's feet and duck legs were all hairy and they were never cleaned. The boss never gave change when he overcharged me! Don’t go! Bad character!

This most delicious Taiwan Food

Excellent Taiwanese food at reasonable prices. Counter service only. They have a daily lunch box special where you can choose two meats and two vegetable dishes for $7, comparable to fast food prices. Dining room is very spartan, so I usually get my food to go.

Pretty authentic Taiwanese food. Many varieties and inexpensive. Highly recommended. Something similar and good nearby is called Yellow River.
