Taqueria Chapala, Austin TX

Great spot for fresh and authentic food. The chicken fajita burrito was incredible. Got rice and beans on the side as well. All of the salsas were so fresh. Staff very friendly. Will be going back again soon. Loved it.

The food, in addition to being very varied, is very good. The burrito plate is highly recommended.

The service is fast, friendly and very attentive.

It is worth it for its excellent quality/price ratio.

Barbacoa adobado was fantastic!

We first visited this place 7 yrs ago after a failed attempt at Juan In A Million (long wait line) and loved it. It has become our go to breakfast place when drive into the city. Staff is always friendly and welcoming. Food is delicious no matter what you order. But the refried beans is what makes the visit worthwhile…they remind me of food from back home. I love it when a Mexican/Tex-Mex restaurant uses bacon fat/grease to refry their beans! So yummy!

Visiting Austin for the weekend and staying near Taqueria Chapala, I stopped by and ate there 3 times in 4 days. Their food is fantastic and the atmosphere is great and inviting. Authentic Mexican food at great prices. I highly recommend trying their various tacos. Their Mexican rice is some off the best I’ve had.

The dishes are very rich and well served. The excellent service, the only bad thing is that they charge you a commission when paying with a debit or credit card. That is a bad point for them. Hopefully they can modify that, in these times you should no longer carry cash.

The Waitress approached us with attidude. She made me so mad I lost my appetite. I will never come back. If you don't want be around people don't come to work.

Man, I’ll be honest. When the waitress dropped off our water she was gripping the inside of the glass with her fingers in the water which is cool. I can look past it bc usually it means I’m about to have some bomb Mexican food. Not the case. My chicken enchiladas were covered in what tasted like pizza roll sauce or Ragu and the chimichanga had a whole friend tomato in it. Rice and beans were good. Would eat here again.

About as local as they come, places like this are dotted all over Austin, and you really should check them out. Excellent food, even more excellent tacos, and most excellent chips and salsa verde.

Excellent food and service. Barbacoa was outstanding. Only complaint is pico de Gallo had no Chiles in it. Breakfast is served all day.

I was not impressed with my chalupa at all! I couldn't pick it up to eat it! I had to use a FORK! I couldn't taste the flavors of the meat or beans because of the pile of cheese on it! It does come with guacamole, I got a big slice of it. Please, don't get me wrong. The place was 60% full it's just not my style.

We have been coming for years and the quality has always been excellent

Chilaquiles here were so bomb. The portions were very hefty and generous too. Salsa was delish. I have only been to the chapalas in Corpus and so was a bit skeptical of this one. Did not disappoint. My friends ordered a beef burrito and barbacoa torta that were also cooked very well and satisfied their big appetites. Not too busy on Friday lunch. Service was excellent and came out pretty fast. Will return when I'm in Austin again for sure.

The enchiladas verdes were delicious. The sauce had so much flavor. Even the rice and beans had a great flavor and came with cheese mixed in. Excellent!

I'm from dallas and i have yet to find a place that serves filete empanizado that's as good as this place 10/10
