Taqueria Guanajuato reviews
15Best place for authentic Mexican food! This is my go to every time! Gorditas are bomb and the tacos de birria are my favorite here.
It was a side restaurant of a store. I was expecting a full restaurant. I didn't like my plate of food (enchiladas), but my daughter love her beef plate. Several people love this restaurant, but unfortunately, I did not. I will have to try it one more time to have a true idea.
My husband and I used to come here a lot. They used to make the best birria tacos we’ve ever had. But lately their food and service quality have dropped dramatically. Our takeout has consistently been cold and soggy the last couple times we’ve tried to come. And don’t get me started on their poor customer service. On several occasions the customer service was rude and dismissive. We excused it before because the food was still good then. But today we had called in an order and when my husband came to pick it up, they claimed they didn’t have an order for him at all. Then, they tried to assure him they’d put his order “at the front”, it took them 30 minutes to get it ready, and during that time several other people were able to come in and get their food ready within 5 minutes. And when we got our food it was, once again, cold and soggy. Suffice to say we won’t be coming back.
TL;DR - Only spend your money here if you want racist staff to hand you soggy food.
Best tacos I’ve ever had. We got the birria tacos and were in and out within 5 minutes after ordering on a Saturday night. This will definitely be a go-to spot for our family.
The lady that works the front counter is extremely racist. At least the Men act nice so the business can run properly. The Women don’t even try to hide it at all. Food is good but yea I’ll take my money somewhere else. I come here almost every week but today was my last time. I can’t get past the clear racism.
This place is a 3 star restaurant, and my reasons are simple. The asada is chewy and lacks taste; furthermore the atmosphere was underwhelming
Just walking in the door, you know it’s gonna be good. Tacos were amazing, all the salsas were flavorful with a little heat, looking for a solid lunch look no further.
Sadly, Taqueria Guanajuatos has dropped a lot in its meat quality.
We used to go very often but after the pandemic the quality of the meats and of course the flavor changed. It's sad, because despite the fact that his place is not conditioned to be so popular, he came back to have the most authentic Mexican dishes from Denton County; because it cannot be denied that their food is still delicious but not like it used to be 3 years ago. Despite the fact that we loved going to Guanajuatos for tacos, we almost don't go anymore because they are no longer the same. Ah but the prices did increase and their quality went down!
Their menudo is the best…authentic Mexican (similar to Jalisco). Tripe and chorizo tacos.mmm
If it weren't for the place that is not conditioned to eat there and its low quality, I would without a doubt give them 5 stars because there is no such delicious Jalisco-style food for many miles around!
The quality of the meat could be better. I order fajita tacos and the meat was not fajita! The chicken tacos looked like white cube chicken meat.
Absolutely amazing food every time I visit. Their birria tacos were delicious and their frozen margaritas are good too!
Delicious tacos, fast & kind service, plenty of seating options or easy takeout. I've had the birria, pastor, beef, chicken, & carnitas tacos. Pastor & carnitas were my fav ~
Food is delicious and its served in large quantities. We ordered tacos, gorditas and a pambaso and they were ALL very good; can't complaint! Only reason I don't give it a 5 is due to a certain smell that you can perceive as soon as you go in. Not sure if it's from the convenience store attached to the restaurant, if it comes from the restaurant, or the sewer. Nobody else seemed to notice/mind and I'm very sensitive to smells, so not blaming it on either of the above. Would definitely order for take out, become a regular and recommend it to friends.
Excellent Mexican food, they don't put too much spice, this is very good, not everyone can eat spicy, excellent and fast service
We used to order here OFTEN. But lately food quality has dropped dramatically. Its so many people in the building and no one is paying attention to customers. Last meal we got was cold and we live less than 5 minutes away, so the food didn’t sit long at all. We wont be ordering again for awhile considering how disappointing the food quickly has been.
