15Being a contractual customer of over a decade the horrendous customer service given me from late May 2023 to late June 2023 to switch plans for a lower rate is inexcusable. Customer service couldn't honor rate for online Power to Choose plan, did not call back when they said they would, shuttled me between different corporate areas for answers. BEWARE.
It is a very reliable company with prices. I am 16 years old and I hope to continue with the best, which is Tara energy for me.
I have never had any problems with low energy.
It is great for me since it is super economical. I have been with the company for 10 years.
I have 3 residential accounts and one commercial account with TARA for last 9 years. Today when I received bills for 2 of residential properties with50% hike. I called customer support and asked them why have you change my residential from 0.105000 to 0.15547 -almost 50% hike (including TDU charges) I was told they can offer me 0.15300 with 5-years contract. It is still 50% hike? Just unbelievable, does not make any sense. They don't care how long you are with them or how many accounts you have.
Tara energy overcharged my account I signed up for 16.5 Killer watch and win I got my bill then changed it to 18.5 I would have never agreed to that my bill went from under 200$ to over 400$ and I'm in a 2 bedroom apartment that's a overcharged
Never Never use this company. Enrolled delay first. Second the billing information confusing.
What a non sensical way to shop around for basic essentials like electric power. Why should there be a need to choose electric power. So sad for this country. I would think if power can be chosen, why not water? Atleast you can feel the taste. All the politicians are silly and stupid people
Adding to the 1star reviews here. We have been paying the bills every time using the “pay bills here” phone number on the invoices. The phone number is faulty and transfers over to a customer service line which is not necessary at all to just pay a bill. They have been charging us an additional $5, per month, because of that. They stated they would refund us- Christopher from customer service as well as a supervisor lady that we did not get the name of. Received the invoice for this past month and instead of a refund, they are charging YET ANOTHER $5 this month. That is not right and not professional to claim an action will be done yet do the complete opposite. Not sure how much clearer to request our money back… if this persists, we will have to switch to a more professional and reliable company.

Tata energy always works with me to get me the best rates. I've been with Tara energy for over 15 years.
I had so many issues with Tara Energy that I wasn't even too mad about paying the $150 cancellation fee to end my contract early. When I called to cancel my service, the representative was rude and demanded I justify why I wanted to cancel. She didn't seem to like my answer, but being abrasive with me shockingly did not make me change my mind about switching companies.
I have yet to receive my check in the mail with the remainder of my deposit.
I switched to Discount Power (great experience so far) about a month ago and this morning I received an email that Tara Energy had canceled my service with Direct Power WITHOUT MY AUTHORIZATION. Luckily I was able to get it sorted with Discount Power.
Kind, understanding. They really want to help the customer. And the best prices & plans I've found.
I enrolled via the referral program and never received the $100 bill credit. The agent I spoke to during enrollment said he noted the referral code on my account, but turns out he didn't. I spent 45 minutes on the phone with customer support who told me I didn't call soon enough so they couldn't honor the code. Had I known this would turn out to be a fraudulent tactic to lure customers in I would have never enrolled. Avoid them if you have the choice.
Unbelievably disorganized and shady company. Continued getting billed for energy consumption post contract termination. Trying to get this issue resolved has proved to be an unnecessarily complicated ordeal, and all to a fault of their own incompetence. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. It is NOT worth it. They are not trustworthy, efficient, or cooperative; even in resolving issues of their own making.
