Tech Ridge Park & Ride - CapMetro reviews
7Tech Ridge Park & Ride is one of the major hubs for CapMetro buses. Here you can catch buses going to Round Rock, Pflugerville, & Austin. There's also a shopping area within walking distance.
It's good for what it's worth. It does make me miss my gasoline powered Ford Focus though.
I love riding the buses. The only thing I don't like is how a few of the drivers be sitting there and they see you a lot of times trying to walk their direction and catch them before they leave and they take off. Not only here at the park but other areas of town too. Like for instance here on North Lamar as y'all know we are already in triple digits temperature here in June already. A route 1 bus was sitting there. I have a bad foot with arthritis. I prayed the crosswalk symbols on the light would change before the bus left. I got lucky to cross at the last light. The driver he starts lifting the bus up to leave I raised my hand to let him know I was approaching he gonna take off and give me a hard look. Perhaps he would like to wait around and try to figure out when the next bus is coming. But other than a few rude experiences here and there bus services are still awesome. Wonderful driver on the 1st route 1 bus I catch going Northbound towards Tech Ridge. I get off at McCallen Pass street. The driver we used to have before him was cool too.
There is a lack of security, especially when it is dark in the morning and at night. There are frequently homeless people (most of the time apparently intoxicated) and many of them bother mainly women
Great place to be able to connect to any bus. Just not very blind-friendly. Needs talking stations or buttons so we know where we are at or what stop we are waiting for.
Need public restroom for long distance travelers. I ride for over an hour and a half and even if I go before I leave my house or work. I still have situations where I need to use the restroom. I have had UTI issues due to the lack of this accommodation. I know that the homeless population is an issue but this could encourage a different type of rider if available.
This was the first time i’ve ridden a bus in decades. I found it easy to commute. At Tech Ridge there are two ticket kiosks, the one the right didn’t give me my change and the buses didn’t recognize my ticket. The driver wasn’t concerned and off we went. Everyone knows about the bus lanes in every city. We bounced and jarred our way downtown. I truly don’t know how they stay put to gather. I was on time that’s most important and will keep riding the bus
