Texan Diner, Fort Worth TX

We had to make a Walmart grocery trip and decided to stop at Texan Diner for a try first. We were promptly greeted and seated, given any choice of the tables. There weren’t too many people inside.

Our server was attentive and the food was out pretty quickly, quicker than I figured for a diner anyway. My daughter ordered the kids max and cheese, it was rigatoni-type shells with a cheese sauce. Not the best but not terrible. She didn’t finish it, she normally finishes all of her beloved Mac and cheese. But she said it was because she didn’t want to eat so much cheese. My husband ordered the bacon wrapped meat loaf with Mac and cheese and fries as his two sides. It was tasty! The meatloaf may not have been the freshest though. Those fries were homemade and salted just right. Lastly, I ordered the Texan Cobb Salad. It was huge and had bacon, grilled chicken, avocado, egg, shredded cheese and pico in it. I had it served with home style ranch, delish! They gave me that good ranch, if you know you know.

So overall the food was good. Our server didn’t ask if we wanted to take any leftovers with us though (hubby had over half his meatloaf left and a lot of Mac and cheese while I had a ton of salad left as well) before she took our plates away. She was abrupt, but she did fill my husbands tea once. Not a dealbreaker though.

Maybe we should come back and try the breakfast since that seems to be what most people order from here. I honestly thought they didn’t serve breakfast all-day so I didn’t even give it a glance.

The Cajun omelet was too good! Went for the first time today and we really enjoyed everything, can’t wait to go back!

Food was cold. Sent it back and chef/owner said he would personally cook and make sure our food was out hot. He came back with warm food. You can’t cook HOT food then you don’t need to be owning/running a restaurant. Won’t be back there again

All the staff was very nice place has a good atmosphere good food the waitress brought my food to the table cooked the way I asked

Great place to get some home style grub. I have eaten here several times over the last few years and they haven’t disappointed me to this day. I have gone for breakfast and lunch and have given several dishes a try and they have done a phenomenal job. I will keep going here to enjoy a meal.

The food was not the best but this is not the issue
The lady who was serving us she was so rude when she saw the tip and she went and showed all the employees the check! She was the worst I think her name was Kaylee or something.

Pretty decent food. I would definitely recommend the chili, and I would have been happy to see a chili Frito pie on the menu. My Salisbury steak was a little underdone for my taste, but overall the experience was pretty good.

This restaurant is perfect for everyday breakfast and lunch. And an added plus, the Thanksgiving and Christmas family meals are perfect for family get-togethers this season!

Went for the Oktoberfest food and it was wonderful. The waitstaff was so helpful. They even had beer.

Really good food! I had the Texan Cheesesteak. So good! Our server, Meadows, was so awesome! I will be back to try the meatloaf.

My food this morning was disappointing to say the least. Service was good. The brisket and eggs was just gross. Food was not fresh and cold. The restaurant was only about 25% occupied at 10 AM. The beans that are served with that meal were awful. Worse than storebrand can. I don’t know how that’s possible. I don’t like writing bad reviews but I hope I see you in this day and start looking into things and get back to what they used to be last year even during Covid had pretty good food.

True Texas sizes of food! Huge portions for the good prices! I don't know how the waitress was able to hold 2 plates in her hands! One burger we got was great, tasty, with grilled cheese sandwiches instead of buns, a few patties, and huge onion rings for the side dish. It was perfect. My wife was not so lucky. Her burger had 2 patties and was huge; but was soggy, not fresh, with old refrigerator-smelled "fresh" veggies on top, buns so soggy with oil- when she touched it, oil was swimming out of it, fries were horrible and soggy- it felt like someone warmed up yesterday's burger and fries in a microwave.: (so, hence is 2 stars.
