Texas Children's Pediatrics Spring Branch, Houston TX

Today was the second time using the VidyoConnect app for my child’s appointment. I am glad that a service like this is available specially with all that is going on now (Covid19). We love our Doctor, Doctor Pelaez is amazing she always answer all of cuestions and concerns during our appointments or over e-mail, the staff is proffessional, super nice, great place.

Dr. Collard was OK but the office and staff were not. I took my child for annual check-up, they ended up billing me for the services as a normal consultation because they renewed prescriptions and referred to an ortho. "Because he was not well and a wellness exam to be 100% covered means that the child needs to be found well. " My child was born with ortho issues (not a new diagnosis). First time in 16 years of being a parent I am charged and billed double for one visit and the office refused to correct. Stay away from this branch.

Dr. Collard is awesome, but her front desk staff are so awful they've run us off. They told me that they accept my son's insurance. 2 visits and a month later I receive the billing and when I questioned them about this not only were they rude but they told me that there was something wrong with his insurance and they won't see him until I pay out of pocket or fix his insurance. I spoke with the insurance, there's nothing wrong, they just dont accept it. If an office doesn't accept our insurance why would they lie to me, and then make me financially responsible? It would've saved me a lot of headache to just be honest with me. I would've gone to the next office that does accept it. While Dr. Collard may be an awesome doctor, it's not worth seeing her if I can't trust her staff with the financials. I feel they should be responsible for these bills but I'd be dreaming if I actually thought they'd take care of it. Worse yet, I've looked at the rest of the reviews and these kinds of issues have been happening for years at this clinic. After countless complaints about the front desk nothing has been done to address the issues. Texas Children's is being made out to be a joke at this place, and the doctors at this location should be ashamed for keeping people like this on their staff.

We have been seeing Dr. Collard for almost 3 years now, she listens and answers every question I throw her way. She’s excellent with my children and they have no issue with going to the doctor anymore. The staff has been nothing short of amazing to us.

5 hour wait with nobody in front of me, better off going to urgent care down the road, this is a joke

I love Doctor Collard the time she spends explaining everything. The front office staff is a bummer in the other hand, I had an appointment with my kids At 3: 15 got there 10 min early just to to be told 45 min later that they couldn’t verify my insurance. They are rude not the first time that happens. Now i gotta miss another day of work to reschedule the appointments.

Very disappointed with the way they run this place especially front office people they aren’t professional and don’t care to greet patients in a kind manner they need to be retrained. I worked at a ophthalmologist for years and always had a smile and greeted patients with good spirits. I like Dr. Montoya but unfortunately she is always overbooked and if you arrive 5-10 minutes late they will cancel your appointment and my kids have to miss half day of school and I have to miss work. They also don’t verify insurance in advance because this has happened to me before where insurance was termed and had no idea and made a blank trip and again kids missed school and I missed work. I will no longer be brining my children to this clinic is unprofessional and unorganized!

Dr. Pelaez has been my child’s doctor for almost 2 years. We have had the best experience with her, she is very caring and always takes the time to answer any question you may have. Thanks Dr. Pelaez for always going above and beyond with your service!

I’ve been coming here since my baby was a week old she’s very caring and answers all of my questions.

I've been Going to This location on Wirt since my kids were born and we absolutely love it here! There is one lady who works the front that someone must talk to about her attitude but the rest of the staff is amazing and i will continue bring my twins here.

Dr. Cristina Pelaez-Velez is the most genuine and knowledgeable pediatrician who has cared for my 3 children. My family is so blessed to have met Dr. Pelaez who is very detailed and informative. She makes our family feel comfortable and always gives us an opportunity to ask questions. The first time I contacted her office was via MyChart and she called me after hours to follow up my sons medical attention, I immediately knew she was a professional and caring doctor.

So I had my appointment on Friday 3/29 for a 3: 45 pm appointment; Arrived to my appointment 2 minutes late because had trouble finding parking a car in front of me took 3 parking spots! Mind you I’m always 30 minutes to 1 hour early to all my appointments never missed any appointments!
I get to the clinic and I’m still standing in line waiting to get checked in and for the front desk (Fatima to tell me that I was marked as NO SHOW!
I got very upset ; I told them that they now me better that I never arrive late to my appointments; I just arrived 2 minutes late by the time I checked in! They refused to see me because as of last year their office policy change they are no longer giving a 15 minute grace period! I never had to use that grace period in my life! My children and I love Dr. Montoya but this really got me upset especially how the front desk talk to me! I swear I felt like crying of anger! I’ve never felt this way going to any providers office! I believe that the front desk needs to act more professional and know how to treat patients! Maybe you guys should remind patients about the grace period policy when confirming appointments!

My daughter has being bringing my granddaughter here for 5 months. Our appointments are usually at 3pm and always end up leaving when the clinic is closing. It always has a long wait time.

If i could give this place no star i would. The girls at the front office desk Jen and Fatima were just rude and inconsiderate for my daughter. I made an appt through my chart for 11: 45 and i myself had to call to confirm the appt. Because of course the clinic didnt bother to call me and when i did Jen said that the office would not see my child at that time that i must bring her at 11 or else i could wait unitl sometime in the afternoon. I told her i made the appt for 11: 45 she said yea sorry i cant do anything about it you can come at 11. So if i wouldnt have called the office i would have drove there from 1 hour away and they would have denied seeing my child because of their Scheduling system. I was unable to make it at 11 so i had to cancel the appt.and take my daughter to the ER and now wait hours instead of taking her to her so called PCP. The doctors are awesome that front staff needs to be replaced asap so unorganized and unprofessional. Ladies it wont kill you guys to smile every once in a while after all we the patients have to unfortunately deal with you guys upset face all the time. You guys are not living up to a TCH value of LIVING COMPASSIONATELY what so ever.

I am still, after 3.5 weeks, WAITING FOR MS. DEBRA'S CALL BACK.might as well quit waiting and go someplace else.

UNBELIEVABLE. I had a family emergency out of town 6 hours away for Houston and had to stay 3 weeks and missed my actual 1st appointment at this office with Dr. Collard; I took my son to the pediatrician out of town because of that family emergency.

Now, when I call to make an appointment they tell me I am banned from the office for not showing up on my first appointment; I rephrase myself and asked " So you mean you banned me from the office because I missed an appt.without asking me WHY did I missed it? " and she responded yes.

I requested to speak with Mrs. Debra, which I had read on this reviews actually, is the manager and she said that it was the provider not her but she was going to speak with the Dr.to see if they would take me.

Really saddening to come across this situations where a branch pediatrics clinic as renowned as Texas Children's would banns you from the clinic because you missed the appointment without asking the reason; its not like we miss the appointments for fun or for something better to do. I had a family situation and had to miss work, go through FMLA, come back to Houston in 1 day to pack bags for at least 1 month for me and my son, etc.

Very unconsidered.

Dra Cristina Pelaez is a wonderful doctor she take care of my children very well. The passion and love this doctor possess is amazing. She really loves to be a doctor because you can see when you schedule an appointment in her office.

My kids been here since born, we have changes over the years but doctors are caring and lovely, and I have only good things about this pediatricians.

We have been going here since the day my twins were born 4 years ago. We we live almost 2 hours away and yet we still drive out there. There is no other place I would take my kids we love Dr. Montoya since one of the Dr's left it's been chaos so hard to get an appointment and now with the new manager they have changed policies. Not once do I remember being kicked off their service for no showing up late. Now I hear man complain about being 10 minutes late and they remove you from their service, they should understand things happen and we shouldn't be punished for being late by taking us off their care. Other than that we live the Dr we have.

The front desk employees have never been rude to me, the back office staff have been wonderful. Dr. Montoya has been so helpful, she listens to all concerns and has a lot of patience when it comes to working with babies and teenagers. I wish i knew about her since the day they were born. She is wonderful.

Worst place. I called them to make an appointment but I couldnt make it because I forgot to make the change of the clinic on my insurance. So I went ahead and made the change later on and when I called back. Well first of all they took a long time to answer. Then when they finally answered the lady was so rude. And then they tood me that they didnt accept me to that clinic anymore because I had missed an appointment. They say "its the policy" What kind of policy is that? Ive never seen that. What gets me mad is that I had went to the trouble to change my clinic for nothing. But its okay that they didnt accept me. They are not nice anyways and wouldnt want my child to have people like that treating him.
