Texas Children's Urgent Care Cinco Ranch reviews
18This is an urgent care not a hospital. Y’all need to speed up your duties. Please contact me. This is unacceptable. Service is very slow. There is no Urgency. Needs new management.
We brought our toddler with 102F. They gave us an “appointment” in an hour. They didnt even measure his temperature. They had us wait outside on Texas heat because they dont want people in the waiting room. This is in June 2021, yes with vaccines and restrictions lifted pretty much everywhere.
Our service was great, the front desk was very professional and the rest of the staff worked very hard in getting every patient taken care of in a timely manner. With the amount of patients that poured in last minute while we were in for my toddlers appointment, everything was handled amazing by staff. I enjoyed my visit and the care that was given to my son. This is the first time he is able to be in a doctors office without freaking out. All staff members especially Melissa, are amazing with their skills working with children. I highly recommend this place!
This place is excellent! I received expert level care by their board-certified physician. It is such a relief to have access to expert physician care after hours when my little ones are sick. Many urgent cares do not have board-certified physicians on site and available for consultation. This is the number one reason why I choose this urgent care over all others even though it is a further drive. I did not wait long when I arrived around 8pm with my baby who was vomiting. The physician introduced herself and quickly got to obtaining our history. She did a very thorough exam, reviewing vitals, listening to lungs, feeling her belly, examining her throat/eyes/ears. She quickly identified the problem was a stomach virus. I had particular fears of other possibilities (moms are anxious!) and she patiently helped me understand her thought process about the diagnosis. We got to avoid any painful, costly and unnecessary tests because this physician had great clinical experience and was confident in her diagnosis. My baby got nausea medicine right there in the office. The physician nailed the diagnosis because sadly we all caught the stomach virus the next day. I felt reassured and my baby started feeling better and stopped vomiting that very night. Thank you TCH urgent care for your excellent staff!
Really bad service. Long delays despite having an appointment. And after being told to come again after booking an appointment to avoid waiting in the lobby
Receptionist didn’t seem to care
They people work at the Registration they are not professional and so Rude that so bad when you found those people work in emergency room!?
This location was amazing, from the front desk to the nurse to the doctor. We could not have asked for a better experience. My 4 year old spiked a fever on a Sunday morning and we where able to get an appointment the same day. This was the first time my daughter has been sick and unable to go to our normal Texas Childrens office so we weren’t sure what to expect. The lady at the check in was so caring and helped ease my very scared/apprehensive daughter. We where in the room at our scheduled time and waited very little for the doctor to come in. Dr Honeycutt was caring and thorough with my daughter. She is not a fan of the doctors office but was made to feel comfortable. I feel so fortunate to have such a caring facility available to my family when needed. Highly recommend!
Had visited for my toddler. The doctor was wonderful. Usually my toddler fears medical facilities and doctors. This was definitely not that scary experience for her. Doctor has great skills dealing with children and making examinations less scary. Would definitely recommend this place.
Only attend by appointment, nurses don’t have empathy for people. The nurse practitioner was very nice though.
I have been healthcare for over 25 years and so I am picky when it comes to healthcare needs; especially for my children. TCH Urgent Care has been my go to for all of my urgent care needs and I have not been disappointed.
Have been with my daughter waiting for almost three hours. When asked how long more will be the wait, the nurse is rude and the answer is always you are next or the dr will be there with you. If need more drs to attend the amount of people, please do so. This is no free and I really think I would have done better waiting the night and taking my daughter to her pediatrician in the morning than giving this people my time and money. Also, the room we are waiting to see the dr for 2 hrs is so cold. Glad I brought a blanket.
The nurse and nurse practitioner were great but the front desk should be more professional and knowledgeable about insurance issues. They casually flipped through a binder before declaring that our insurance wasn't accepted, even though I repeatedly assured them that the insurance company had, in fact, sent us the link to this location to receive urgent care. We were labeled as "self pay" and told we could go to Texas Children's ER, where they would accept our insurance (I called and was on a 3 hour wait - so we came back into the clinic and decided to self pay) Upon returning home and having a moment to sit down and check everything without my vomiting child - we are covered to go to this urgent care - and it is within our network. The front office really did not even try to do their jobs or care that their lack of professionalism very much influenced our healthcare outcome. We would have run further tests to check on the issues my daughter was/is having but with the questionable insurance issue the nurse practitioner and I agreed that it just had to wait. ****I did call Texas Children's main office and they easily remedied the situation with the professionalism expected from such an institution. Hiring qualified professionals to staff the front desk at this urgent care would be a worth investment
Urgent care yet there were no urgency on their end. Whats the point of "Save my Spot" when I still have to wait 1.5 hours when I arrive? Plus the hour from the time I "Saved my spot" online to the arrival time. There was only one other person sitting there when we arrived. Asked one of the nurses if they were running behind and she said no. When we leave, they said the Rx should be ready by the time we get to the pharmacy. I ran some errands thinking it would give them time to make the Rx, well i show up and apparently they never called in the Rx. The pharmacist checked the other pharmacies around to make sure it wasn't called in there and it was not. They never even made the call. So fed up with the way they operate. I really wish they would try to improve but over the years it has not since its so close to the house.
The quality of care provided at Texas Chrildren’s Urgent Care is excellent. They have treated my children for broken arm, flu, strep, and general viruses. We have always been very pleased with them.
I wish zero stars was an option for this review. We (my children) have been patients of TC Urgent Care for over five years now. We have been here many times and while we considered ourselves ‘frequent flyers’, our experiences here have never been phenomenal but it’s been a convenient location and the weekend hours were appreciated so we always chalked it up to “okay”. Today is the last day I will ever step foot in this place. I arrived before they opened with both of my kids needing to be seen and in hopes of beating the typical 2 hour wait. The front desk ladies unlocked the front door but failed to tell any of us on the outside that we could come in, leaving us in 100 degree Texas summer heat to figure out they had indeed opened the office and the doors were unlocked so we (& other waiting parents/children) could bring our sick children inside to wait. A simple, “Hi! We’re open; come on in. ” would have been nice. (What a concept, right?) My son came in for croup. Within minutes of being placed in a room, the force of his cough caused him to throw up. I walked out asking for towels, something, anything to clean him up. I was given blank stares by the nurses who did acknowledge us and ignored by the rest so I had no option but to use a measly box of tissues to clean up puke off of him and me. He had no clothes on at this point, I walk him to the bathroom to use the sink to clean his shoes and feet off. 3 nurses sat there and watched me do this, without ever asking if they could help or if I needed anything. This happens TWO MORE TIMES. He got sick twice more, both times with nurses/staff in the room and not a single time did they offer to help. They didn’t even hand me a tissue or paper towel when I was scrambling with puke dripping everywhere. In the midst of the 3rd bout of him throwing up in the room, after both kids being seen and multiple tests being run, the front desk woman is standing in the middle of the room as my son is puking and is attempting to tell us that we now have to fork up $160-$250 per child (AFTER ALREADY ACCEPTING AND CONFIRMING OUR COPAY) and that after FIVE YEARS of using our same insurance policy, that it’s never been accepted and we’ve been given false information stating that it was accepted all these years. So for 5 years they’ve “accepted” our policy but shouldn’t have all this time? For FIVE YEARS we were lied to? She repeatedly told us we were now self pay and needed to pay, again, all the while I’m trying to clean puke off myself, my son and their floor. Never ONCE does she even acknowledge that I could have used some help or a simple roll of paper towels. On top of all this, I asked for a popsicle for him FOUR times to get the nasty taste out of his mouth and hopefully help him feel a tiny bit better after puking three times in a matter of 30 minutes before someone finally brought one to him after me walking out and telling them I would get it myself. Never have I felt more like a dollar sign than a patient. And never again will this place see our children or our credit card they’re always so quick to charge.
First time that I took my oldest kid because he introduced a lego part into his nose the unfriendly staff mentioned that it was not an emergency issue that we must wait over two hours to be treated
Second time we took our youngest due high fever (104) ; again the staff did not let me in because it supposed to be opened in 15 minutes so I told them that outside is over 100 degrees hot or even in my car was not the best place for a 3 year old with high fever. They did not care and refused to let me wait inside with AC.
I do not recommend this place at all, their lack of care is out of place
This amazing staff recognized my sons acute appendicitis within minutes. We transferred to the West Campus for surgery. Great care team and couldn’t have asked for better treatment. Thank you
Worst urgent care ever. I took my son here with 104 fever and I got there 10 minutes before they open (noon) I called and the front desk where there. I asked them if they could let me in to wait inside so my son already with a high fever shouldn’t be waiting outside on the hoy summer. They told me the doctors where not there yet, I replied that I understand and they put me on HOLD to see if they can let me it to wait under their AC. Are you kidding me? I understand is a business but what a lack of humanity and emphatic staff. Texas children is good but now I understand the poor reviews of this urgent care.
In two minutes I was already on another urgent care, and they where totally different.
