I had a quick, easy and pleasant experience. I already had an appointment so I just went in and signed in and was seen in less than 5 minutes. The ladies at the counter were nice and we talked about our favorite books and movies series while we renewed my license. My appointment was at 11: 30 and I was out by 11: 45! I would recommend getting an appointment and having all the paperwork filled out beforehand.

The women there are horrible. I went back and read the negative reviews and they are spot on. An elderly Hispanic man came in and they refused to get off their butts and help him with the computer login. We all could see he didn't know anything about computers and I couldn't stand watching him stand there in frustration while the women just kept yelling at him from behind their little cubicals.
They were rude, condescending, and down right ugly. Go to Gonzales where everyone is nice. Don't say you weren't warned.

Very unprofessional comments, rude & racist stating if i saw the “no more out of state people” and to turn around and leave. I really hope one day her or her family never have to relocate out of state…

Pathetic service. I have been to many DPS. But by far this is the worst no doubt about it. Rude customer service. It was raining and they just asked all of us get out and did not allow me to help my wife who is not that great in English.

Ladies working today were very friendly, helpful, and patient yet still able to keep up the pace and get folks in and out quickly.

Note: Bastrop DPS Office is BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. You can schedule an appointment upon arrival (generally at least 10 days out) however your reason for needing to be there won't be addressed without an appointment.

They only take appointments 2 months out, and extremely rude staff, minimal willingness to help people.
Typical bureaucratic waste of tax dollars with lazy rude staff. Unless you have an excess of free time good luck. Absolutely no flexibility for people who work a typical 9-5 schedule.

It's my 7th time and still no ID, place is clean.

This DPS location is fantastic! It was the nearest road testing location for my driver license. I made an online appointment and waited patiently for my appointment date, 8/30/22. I arrived a few minutes early and was guided to the check-in kiosk. Filled out my application and waited only a few minutes until my number was called. All of the staff that processed my road test application were extremely friendly and answered all of my questions. My road tester was kind, professional and made my road test experience relatively stress-free. After I had passed my road test I drove away with a very positive overall experience. My sincere thanks to all of the DPS staff that made my morning road test a wonderful experience! My brother also had a fantastic experience several years ago when he first moved to Bastrop county.

Very racist place! The lady that attended me rolled her eyes when I told her my dad didn’t speak English and when I confronted her about it she continued making back handed racist comments. Don’t recommend this place at all the vibes are always off you never get greeted kindly.

The Worst DPS I've ever been to, Those lady's should be fired for arrogant and racist.

Friendly staff and helpful. I like the appointment method as it is not crowded and the wait is relatively short.
You must have an appointment for driving license renewal which you can get online. Don’t be surprised if you have to schedule a week or two in advance. Keep the email confirmation you will receive as it has the reference number and barcode. You will use either one at the electronic sign-in when you arrive. It will print out a ticket with your queue number. There are multiple forms, (one for commercial, one for minors, etc.), so make sure you fill in the correct form for your visit. Keep your eye on the screen on the wall. Your number will display there when it’s your turn. Save yourself an extra trip there by bringing your birth certificate or passport.

These ladies at the desk are the rudest DPS workers I have ever encountered. They are soooo rude!

The wonderful ladies at the Bastrop office once again we’re totally awesome. Helpful, courteous and enjoyable was my experience. They were on time and very helpful but need a taller camera stand. Have never had a bad visit at this office. I recomend everyone renew their license as often as possible or more.

Most helpful and quick to get through. Things change from year to year. What I had a hard time with is nothing listed on Website about price for name change and renewal. You need to work on website about fees.

I can see how people say that there is a rude employee, but in reality they are just trying to get someone in and out with all the proper paperwork.

If i could rate -100 stars. Rude rude rude and unprofessional. I went there last friday, had an appointment at 9: 30 and i got there on time the door sign said by appointment only. I walked in there and the check out person told me to wait outside. I waited outside for 15 mins with no chair. I saw other persons walked in and got to check out, so i was patient then i saw she didn’t do anything, so I looked i her thur the door then come up and called me in when I was about to go inside myself because it was Cold Outside! She told me to fill the form so i did. I waited about an hour till the other lady who called for number. All the peoples in the room were looking in to each other and tried to figure out who turn was it. So none of us have a que number, so i went to the table. The lady asked me what is my number and I told I don’t have one. So she yelled at me and asked me if my name was Micheal and she looked at me and she said I didn’t look like Micheal. I was embarrassing and stunned. The lady by the door told her that she didn’t give anyone que number and Micheal canceled his appointment, so i was my turn. I went for renewal my id since i got my name change. Turn out I filled the application with my old name fellow the currently id that i had. So she yelled at me again. So i fixed the application and i still keep my old signature because I wanted too (because it my birth language) and she yelled at me and arguing me to change my signature. I was so upset and i kept calm and she started talking with the other that “ It is one of those day that give them an headache”like they was mocking me.
If you see my review please do something with your employees. This is unacceptable! We are all sacrificing our time and money to get thing done Right! And this is how your employees treating us?

Please, every DMV in the US -look how fantastic this DMV and its' staff are. If it wasn't for California DMV, I would have been in and out of here in a few minutes. And helpful beyond belief. My friend's don't believe me when I tell them how great my experience has been here. Thank you especially to Holli.
