I had an appointment but still had to wait 1.5 hrs for my turn. Very inefficient process and bad work ethic. I hope they limit appointments or call people by the appointment time.

DO NOT SHOW UP EARLY AND WAIT IN LINE! The only way you get in is by making a same day appointment online and you have to wait until 7: 45am sharp before they post any availabilities. If you log in before 7: 45am, this location doesn’t exist on the scheduler tool. If you wait until 7: 50am you won’t have any open spots left. I showed up at 3: 30am for nothing and the DPS website does indicate that same day walk ins are welcome - so that is frustrating.

SOMETHING THAT SHOULD BE EXPLAINED, YOU CAN SCHEDULE A SAME DAY APPOINTMENT AT 7: 45 am NOT 7: 30 NOT 8: 00am ITS GOTTA BE AT 7: 45am if you’re still trying to find an appointment between 7: 45 am and 8: 00 am on the website of the Texas dmv and absolutely nothing is available that day. Unfortunately they may have changed the time frames AGAIN. I have to renew my license every two years and it’s been an issue every two years, I cannot renew online it’s unavailable for me. Click on their website link, you’ll have to put your license number and some other personal info before you can check for appointment availability. ALSO IF ANYONE TELLS YOU THAT A LOCATION IN TEXAS HAS WALK INS WELCOME THEYRE LYING TO YOU, EVERY DMV IN TEXAS IS ONLINE APPOINTMENTS ONLY. You can make an appointment at any dmv location on their small computer kiosk. Update I just got here and it’s way worse then described… you need to bring a passport or birth certificate to prove citizenship. I was already used to that but I’m sure a lot of people are not. I have an appointment at 12: 20 and it’s now 1: 30 and there’s still 26 people ahead of me. Everyone knows the dmv is a frustrating place but I didn’t think it could get any worse. People are yelling and frustrated at the front desk because they’ve had to pay twice or just don’t get any information coming in the first time or online.

I been to this site twice.and have found both times with rude personnel.

It was a pleasant experience.
Make sure you got your paperwork in order. In and out in 30 minutes.

They have trained staff and service is good. They are also helpful. If you come with an appointment and all the necessary papers then the job is done.
If you are required for 2nd verification then go with letter of 2nd verification from authorities, with or without appointment.

Wonderful experience if you have an appointment. Got there 30 min early and were seen earlier than our appointment.

This government building should b more insightful & attentive with it’s tax paying customers. I witnessed many walk-ins being greeted rather unprofessional by one of the workers only stating “you need to make an appointment on-line” end quote. And left people hanging out to dry. A simple fix to the lack of info is to hang a big placard in bold print on the wall with the website address. This way, everyone understands including those that don’t speak English.

Everything went well, didn't take long to renew my license. The guy who attended me was very polite and professional, thank you.

Parking situation is out of control. How can a dmv have such limited supply of parking spots? Took me 15 mins just to find a spot…then another 2hrs to even be seen.

It doesn’t matter how polite you are, they are rude here. I asked the lady at the door nicely what the next steps were to upgrade to a driver’s license and she acted like I was bothering her and didn’t help at all. She wasn’t being direct she was blatantly rude. A man in line was polite and gave me more information than she did. I realize it’s not a business but if you work with the public you should still hire respectful people

Hard to find parking spot!
Appointment is useless. You need to wait for at least 1 hour to get the service.

So I woke up at 745 and check to see which location have appointments was able to get in today at 12 I came at 1130 and was done by 115 and mr walton was so helpful I would definitely recommend

On June 12, I took my son to his driving appointment, he had the appointment at 1pm, everything was fine until then, until I got to stand in line, an ordinary person touched him, and all the way I was making him nervous, I even told him that he was going to kill her, that he stuck to the cars a lot, etc, that he was not prepared, I was a bitch, they should have more professional people if they are already tired, they should go home

I recently got my CDL back. It was a trying experience regardless of where I went to test, but Grand Prairie was the worst. Nothing but rude people from my very first encounter. Avoid this place totally when getting your CDL. They derive pleasure from failing you. They are a joke. Go to the Carrollton DPS, the people there are friendly and helpful.
