I came to see Amburlee because I wanted to take the leap into wearing my hair curly after being relaxed for a long time. I definitely recommend the consultation as a first step. She listened to what I wanted, explained everything about the process and suggested best next steps to reach my hair goals. It was an amazing experience and I was super excited for my appointment and big transformation!

I went and had a consultation with amburlee for my 2 sons today. They are 12 and 13 and I have no idea what to do with their hair. They want their curls defined and I'm clueless. She asked questions about what they wanted and their goals for their hair. Answered all my questions. Very thorough. We have booked them both for the first Friday in January. She explained what the cost would be for their appointments initial appointments and follow ups. So looking forward to working with her to get my boys hair in shape.

Amburlee definitely knows about curls and color! She is open to educating you on the dos and don'ts of a your curly hair and offers product recommendations. So if you are a natural hair sista she can hook your natural curls up! Of course she can slay a silk press or other style you may like all while keeping your hair healthy and strong!

I took my daughter to Amburlee for a haircut and mini styling lesson and we were both so happy with the services. Amburlee was so informative and detailed with how to take care and style my daughters hair. We didn’t feel rushed and it was truly the best experience. My daughter kept commenting how much she loved her hair and how she felt like a new person after leaving the salon. We will definitely be going back!

Very beautiful and neat salon space. We started service a little later than expected, but the end product was great. I loved my curly haircut. Amburlee provided a lot of great tips and resources on how to restore and maintain my curls.

Update August 2022: I have now seen Amburlee a few times. I will say she has significantly changed my life. I don't say this lightly but I really mean it. I have struggled with scalp health for a few years now (flakes, dryness, scratchy, etc.) and thought maybe this is just how life is going to be for me. She looked at my scalp for about 30 seconds (on my first visit) and told me she thought I might have a food allergy and she also recommended a few different kinds of probiotics. I didn't think much about it until the irritation got worse. I decided to go to the allergist.based on Amburlee's observation and found out I have 3 new food allergies I didn't know before. One of those allergens being SOY. As someone who is primarily a vegetarian and eats pounds of tofu a week, you could imagine how damaging this was to my guts and skin. I have managed to ween myself off of soy but it has been worth it. My skin and hair have had a massive recovery. In addition, when I mentioned the soy allergy to Amburlee she recommended LOMA shampoo and conditioner which are soy-free. This has made a massive impact on my scalp and skin health. I have also been on probiotics and it has helped soooo much with my general comfort. I would have never looked into these allergies without Amburlee and I am sooo thankful. In addition, we did a much shorter haircut recently and I am in love with it. Amazing volume and shape! Finally took some photos worth sharing:).

Feb 2022: The haircut I received from Amburlee was the first time in YEARS that I felt like someone actually did something with my hair. I have been to so many curly hair specialists that just sort of snip a few pieces here and there are charge you hundreds of dollars. Amburlee did an initial consult and I came back for a haircut the next day. She added shape and volume and uncovered more curls than I knew I had. She is knowledgeable about so many aspects of personal wellness and does approach your haircare from a full body perspective. It was so refreshing to work with someone so hands on and unafraid of making a mistake. I will be returning to her for balayage in the near future and look forward to it. About me: I have a lot of fine 3a/3b hairs. My hair is not consistently curly in alll parts of my head. When I style at home I wash/condition, then use creamy leave in detangler/conditioner, cream gel, gel, and usually finish with a mouse and then diffuse with hair dryer. It takes me about an hour with my shorter hair and about 90 minutes when my hair is longer. I also have a shake and go version with fewer products. I use a Denman 7 row brush to style. Amburlee's techniques really enhance where I have strong curl pattern and give me lots of volume at the crown of my head.

Textures & Tones Salon is like a secret Haven for curls! I traveled over an hour to sit in Amburlee's chair and it was well worth it! I've tried pretty much all the curly hair specialists in Houston and she is by far THE BEST! Don't hesitate to book trust me I did My research! From here on out she's the only one touching my 3C curls! I've been messed up so many times so I'm not taking that chance haha! Amburlee did a Moisture Lock Mask with steaming and my hair has NEVER felt this soft omg! The shape she gave me fit my face perfectly! I'm going on day three and my curls still look so nice and soft and bouncy! I can't wait till my color appointment!

We had a fantastic experience at Textures & Tones Salon! Amburlee was an amazing hairstylist! My daughter and I both have curly hair, but our hair it totally different. She able to cut and style both of our textures perfectly. She also has a great personality and we had a great time while getting our hair done!

Anyone looking for a stylist with curly hair experience Amburlee is your girl! It has taken me years to find someone who cared about correctly cutting, coloring, and styling my hair. In the past stylist have always rushed me out and I was the one client with curly hair. When I had my consultation with Amburlee she never made me feel like she was trying to rush me out. She is patient and full of knowledge. She makes you feel comfortable and will not lead you in the wrong direction. I have come to fully trust her with my hair and would recommend to anyone I know. She is professional and her salon is clean and super cute. Don’t think about it and make your consultation appointment because it will be worth it.

I have been to so many hair stylists over the years and I've never really loved the way my hair would look when leaving the salon but Amburlee did such an amazing job!
