The Argyle League reviews
18I've been getting my hair cut here since they've been open and every time I get it cut it's perfect. Whoever you schedule is going to do a great job in a timely fashion and there's so many options as well. Product in your hair, a shave, or otherwise is going to be a great experience and I can firmly recommended the Argyle League.
The guys here really know what they are doing. Great staff and customer care. Complimentary beer or bourbon is always a plus. Just be sure to book well ahead of time as these guys are BUSY, and for good reason.
Amazing little sanctuary for men. The cuts are awesome of course, but their barbers are the reason to visit. They remember you, they remember ur activities (even after like 5-6 weeks) and they're great to hang with.
I might be a diva but I almost held one star back hoping they would add either face treatments or a basic manicure and pedicure corner. Would round out the spot perfectly. But definitely worth a visit either way.
My first haircut here was great. Second, passable. Third appointment, I had called to cancel. They told me next time I need to call at least 2 hours before to cancel. I explained I had an emergency hospital call and I am notifying them as early as possible. They told me “then you should find another place to book with. ” Healthcare people beware, they do not accommodate.
UPDATE: The owner reached out to me and explained that he investigated the matter and it was a recurring issue and the person had been let go. The owner really does care about customer service and takes every complaint seriously. I will come back to them again!
In my opinion, the best barbershop in town. All of the barbers are excellent at their craft and all of the staff are generally quite friendly.
¡100 % recommended!
I've been going here since they opened. Always a perfect cut! I can't imagine going anywhere else at this point. The entire staff is a great reflection of the awesome owner.
Great service, great haircuts! Amazing location. I've been a client there for almost a year and been satisfied each time I've gone in. It's easy to book an appointment online, and I've never had to wait past my appointment time. I would highly recommend this place!
Andy is the worst. In a rush and he made a side on my hair bald. Also with an attitude as if I was an inconvenience to him.
Andy Hatch is consistently fantastic! Every time I visit The Argyle League he is so patient and confident in finding the perfect style for me as we play around with my short hair. It's also always such a blast to talk to him during my sessions, and I look forward to scheduling with him each time. He is without a doubt one of the best barbers in Houston.
I am very satisfied. Dominic did a very good job with my kid haircut. He was very polite and professional. I will come back.
Excellent service! Very professional, fantastic haircuts, and always on time for your appointments. Highly recommend without any reservation!
Always get a great haircut here because they all are great. Be sure to book in advance, because they’ll be busy with a lot of happy customers.
Easily the best, most professional, smoothest barbershop in Houston. I've tried many but Argyle League is untouchable. The experience is worth the price!
A first class business for men, especially in today's culture where men are becoming more and more marginalized, and emasculated by the culture police. First-class barbers highly talented and an atmosphere designed for men. Bravissimi ragazzi. Complimentissimi!
If you have a beard - this is your place and Travis is your man- not George Michael's stubble - a real beard- anyone in the can shape up your 5 o'clock shadow and you'll look great but if look like duck dynasty and want to look as good as George Michael's then Travis
I made an appointment online with Rafael for a beard trim and haircut. It noted on the website that all cuts were scissor cuts. Upon my early arrival, I was given a drink, which I appreciated. From the time I was introduced to Rafael, he seemed like cutting my hair was an inconvenience, though I was on time. I explained that if my hair was cut too short, that it would stick up, as I have a few cowlicks in the back. Low and behold, it was cut too short and was completely unable to lay down in the back. The beard cut was done with an electric razor and not scissor cut. When my neck was shaved, under my beard, Rafael just held my beard up onto my face, in my nose, etc.instead of clipping it up to keep it out of his way. And when I brushed and check the cut in the truck, it is uneven in spots. Upon checking out, I paid $85 for the haircut and went ahead and tipped because I feel bad for service workers during the pandemic, but it certainly wasn't deserved. I traditionally use Zayra with Wild Boars and the experience is comfortable, friendly and professional. The experience at Argyle was uncomfortable, Rafael didn't say more than three words to me the entire time and completely negated any direction I provided about my hair and the cut. I personally feel it was a waste of money and I will not be back. The haircut can be overlooked, as it is easy to go too short, but I would personally not recommend this barber for beard cuts.
Was referred to Andy by a friend. With Covid i hadn’t had my hair cut in about 8 months. So worth the wait. Clean, timely, fun, masks.
Andy was amazing. I have never received so many complements on a cut in my life. Went ahead and booked the next 3 visits.
Thanks Andy!
