Highly recommend that you take some lessons with the club pro Daren. In a few months, we've shaved 15 strokes off my score. He taught me to strike my irons pure and my friends keep asking how I do it haha.

Most importantly, he taught me to diagnose my mishit patterns so I can make corrections on my own. This helped me to start fixing my slice with driver. I'm also lowering my putting average thanks to Mr. D!

Tee boxes are never level and not maintained. Course is in a decent shape, but not a good one. They are making a lot of adjustments in the coming months, but I think I’ve played my last round here until I hear better things about it later this year (if that happens).

Hosted our first Summit at this venue and everything went very well! Great staff and clean facility. I highly recommend this venue for your event and we will also be using them again.

I have never in my 30 year golf career had a worse experience. Our tee time was 30+ minutes behind while we waited for a golf cart! The entire staff was completely lost on what to do. The manager even started an argument with me to explain it wasn't their fault after the starter told us there were 20+ carts out of commission. We only played 9 holes of the 18 we paid for, and were berated from the manager. This place is a joke and cannot be called a golf course. They could give me free rounds for life, and I would never go back. GolfNow needs to drop them immediately especially after
I paid online and my dad, who always beats me to the course, paid in full. We both paid with credit cards and fortunately are protected. Don't waste your precious free time or hard earned money on the worst course in TX. $50 Green fee and a full day off headache is the last thing I want anybody else to endure.

The course was drenched with rainwater. Overall, the course was in good condition where it's most important, which was the fairways and greens. Some of the greens are damaged however, so I just moved my ball around those few spots and off the soaked areas down the fairways.

Had my wedding here recently. The staff was amazing flipping the room super fast, everyone was so nice. Michele was amazing helping us with wedding planning and making sure our day went smoothly!
Highly recommend to have a wedding here!

My grand daughter got married there last week. Most of the staff was very nice and helpful. I was not impressed with the event coordinator Michelle at all. She demonstrated a very condescending attitude to the parents during the set up process. She lacked compassion and this made for a stressful event during set up. She kept repeating herself over and over again about it was a courtesy to do this for us and when it is stated That many times it is overkill. She was very rude! If you consider using battleground, consider using a wedding planner and avoid Michelle. Food was great, room was great. Other staff went out of their way to be accommodating.

Course is 5/10 for it’s up keep, maybe a 6 in the warmer months. It’s the staff and management especially in regards to the practice course and range. Absolutely terrible. Machine is broken 80% of the time or simply locked up for random reasons. If a single grey cloud hits the sky they shut it down.

The practice facility they have has so much potential, especially since it has a 3 hole course and stadium lights and could really bring in more players, however ball machine stays broken or locked up and it’s never open on time (hrs after listed operational hrs). Then when it is finally open it’s swamped with middle school and high school kids who have very little etiquette. Truly is a shame.

Oh and it’s very overpriced…

Absolute trash of a place, greens aren’t kept up, multiple greens have dirt patches, tee boxes aren’t much better, the price is outrageous for the quality, driving range doesn’t open until 10am. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere

Came out today. Yep, a couple of greens we’re tough too look at and a couple more that were damaged but very playable. But the majority of the greens were in good to excellent shape. I was surprised. I’m a local and have heard of the difficulties at Battleground. I must say they’ve turned the corner and are improving.

Course has a lot of maintenance issues. Fairways very spotty and some greens are non puttable.
Returned to give course another chance.it is barely above a cow pasture. Fairway are poor and 90% of the greens are not puttable.
Not worth half of what they charge.
Deer park.needs to find out what the problem is with maintenence or shut it down!

Looks like there are lots of folks on here complaining about the greens, and admittedly many of the greens are not in great condition (see pics below). That said, this is still one of my favorite public courses in Houston in terms of course layout and play. Lots of variety and several uniquely fun holes.

Let’s just all be honest with ourselves — it’s not like any of us are good enough that the inconsistencies in the greens are the sole reason that we don’t hit every shot like Bubba Watson… So that leaves variety, price, easy of check-in and pace of play, in which Battleground performs well. It’s a great course!

It was our first time playing here. Nice staff, and considering the drought conditions over the past weeks, the greens were, well, green. Nice pace of play for us novice duffers. Only got rushed at one tee by another group.

Looks like a beautiful course, nice staff. On Father's day not one single cart-girl in sight. No biggie. - I enjoyed being the "caddy" however, 2nd time the actual golfer I go with (aka, the husband) played, with a group of two others.my husband said the course was not good. So, his perspective and I saw 3 people at each hole with this issue. Ground so hard you could not put a tee in it. They gave up on several holes. The green is the "just BAD" in bad shape. He went in spring and with me in summer. Otherwise, we managed a good time because we know how to. I'd say. One of the busiest days - no cart person to bring even water in TX heat, disappointing. Also - there was a large family, fathers, mothers, toddlers playing golf and playing on course to find the balls. Holding up many groups. We don't complain because such is golf. My first time going through 18 holes. With delay of that sort, just common respect on the course and nobody to intervene. I guess how could you with the cute kiddos, but. Very odd. Respect factor not taken seriously
