THE BICYCLE RESTORE reviews
18On a ride today and needed a quick tune up, and I found the right spot! Chris took care of my needs right away, and I'll definitely go back to him next time my bike needs a fix.
The Bicycle Restore is an excellent, local business. Chris, the owner / operator is a great guy who does great work at a fair, transparent price.
I brought him two bikes, one for a simple tune-up and one for a not-so-simple tune-up. I use my bike a ton, but I'm not a bike guy so I don't really know how to take care of it well - and I don't care if it's got the latest or highest-quality toys on it; I just want it to work well when I want to use it and not look as neglected and poorly cared for as it actually is.
Chris hooked it up and gave me my bike back like new. He was transparent about what he was charging me and turned the job around quickly.
You can feel good about supporting a good local, small business like this.
Took my e-bike there for a tune up. Had a number of problems that were wrong with it. I followed the reviews and sure enough it was an amazing experience. Prices are as good or better than the other shops. I’ve come back a couple times since. Would much rather support a local legend than a new shop.
Great shop, with quick and efficient service. Chris is super knowledgeable and great to work with. Thanks so much and will definitely be back!
I was looking around town for a shop that could help me with my electric bike. Just needed a couple Allen bolts to help secure the gooseneck. Chris was more than accommodating to me, and at the last minute drop by. We chatted about bikes, restoration and life in general. Over all great guy, really humble and cool. I will bring my bikes to him in the future. Highly recommended!
Great experience here! Chris was super fast, listened and explained well, did a great job, and the prices were reasonable.
Chris really is about that bike life man, he runs a great business- really cool that you deal w/ him directly, just tell him what you want done and he’ll have you out in no time- definitely check this place if you’re in a time crunch and wanna save some cash!
Amazing experience from beginning to end. Chris was super knowledgeable, has decades of experience with bikes, and works each bike with the same care and precision. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for bike servicing, repair, or restoration!
Wow! I needed a rear quick release for my Giant so I searched local bike repair shops to "shop local". There were 3 shops that I saw that I wanted to check out. I guessed that since I'm going to a shop to buy a small, used part, that I wasn't going to get much attention at all. The Bicycle Restore was the first shop on the list to check out. First, Chris is a really nice and friendly guy. We of course talked about the bike stuff but after we started exchanging stories from our pasts and getting to know each other a little better. Second, he has a well equiped bike shop and from my experience, he definately knows what he's doing. Once he finished, he walked with me to my truck and we talked a little more as I put my wheel away. I was completely wrong about how I would be treated. I left there a happy camper!
But wait! There's more.
When I got home I had a question about the rear hub/cassette so I called Chris back. He told me to bring it back whenever I could and he could take care of it, no problem. That's more just being a cool guy rather than just being a business. Awesome experience and I will definately use him whenever I need anything for my family of 6's bikes! Come on down and join the happy camper club! Thank you Chris!
I couldn’t ask for a better bike mechanic! Chris is always willing to go the extra mile to make sure you are right to roll. I can’t count the number of times he has got me back on my bike when I needed help the most. Whether is was a small repair or adjustment, or getting completely race ready, Chris has ALWAYS been there for me! Especially when I’m in a pinch, or short on time to get riding. Support your local bike shop!
Chris is super nice and honest! He explains and shows you what’s needed and what’s not. He’s not trying to upsell you. And he’s fast!
This is the coolest guy and shop, as he's knowledgeable and assertive with completing a task.
Affordable and top knotch services.
Definitely a 5 star shop.
Good work fair prices in that that sense of ownership when it is your business That should never get from Best Buy Amazon, ex
I brought my wife's bike in for repair, and I couldn't have been happier with Chris' quality of work or customer service. He is knowledgeable about his craft, friendly and really seems to love what he does. Perhaps I caught him at the right time, but within minutes he had my bike on his rack was fixing my bike.
Solid dude. Showed up and he stopped what he was working on to help me with my issue immediately. Will be back. Great neighborhood gem. Thanks again!
You're not going to find a better bike shop no matter how far you drive in Austin. Chris knows bikes and is honest and kind!
From my experience here, Chris is an awesome blend of knowledge, skill, attention to detail, and customer service. This guy is a rare find. Thanks for the tune up
Chris is absolutely amazing and did a great job tuning up my bike. Super honest guy will not try to upsell you. He will take care of you and get you back on your bike ASAP. Glad I found his business.
