The Dinner Detective Murder Mystery Dinner Show - Austin, Texas reviews
11My wife and I really enjoyed the dinner show. The actors were great and presentation I will go to see again. The only ding is probably the food itself it was ok but could have been better.
This was fun. There was a group of us celebrating my SO's grad from college and BD.
He also solved the mystery.
Funny. Epic. Wonderful. And must see. Seriously not only was this show engaging as hell. But just a joy to watch. Food was great. Service was A1 and the show well I guess you can say it was to die for. If you're looking for a great way to spend a night. Make a hell of a impressive date. Or have family or friends in town. They will be dying from laughter at this event. Just pro tip. Book early in advance as tickets go quick. I guess people really are dying to get in.
It was a fun show! I had a great time! Totally worth seeing it! The food was very good as well!
The best thing about this show was the food was VERY good. The show itself was a bit silly & in some cases the actors weren't very good, but the plot was complicated enough so that almost noone figured out "who-dun-it. " Ultimately it was different, diverting & fun. The only real problem I had w/it was that the parking cost $25.98 when it was supposed to have cost $10. Turns out we should have had our parking tickets "validated, " but noone from the hotel staff or Dinner Detective staff reminded us of that (I even went to the hotel front desk just after the show was over & before we left to ask if we could pay for the parking w/credit card; you'd think they would have said"Here, let us validate your ticket before you leave! ") We paid for it w/Groupons so the price was reasonable; if we had paid full price it would have been too much for what we got.
We enjoyed the snacks, entree and actors BUT the problem had to do with price for parking. The hotel valet told us it would be $15 in the parking garage. When it came down to actually paying, it was close to $30. When addressing it that night with the hotel and Dinner Detective staff, nothing got resolved that night. Was all finger pointing at each other. The lesson learned.after you park your car in the garage, make sure you have the Dinner Detective folks give you a voucher or provide instructions for the $15 parking. The hotel will not reimburse the difference. I was disappointed how Dinner Detective staff reacted to the stream of people wanting their bill adjusted. We were TOTALLY brushed off: (You've been warned!
The Dinner Detective was very fun! The actors were very funny and the food was good. It's a very interactive show so beware to those with social anxiety.
Overall 10 out of 10 would do again.
Had a great time. Food is decent. Actors are not Hollywood, but that’s expected. Would definitely do it again.
Entertaining and fun. Food is pretty good. They give a ton of irrelevant clues so you won't figure it out but it's more about entertaining than sleuthing. Look out for extra fees and charges! The ticket price is not your addmitance cost.
The show is very well done. The actors are great. I was lucky enough not to be picked on and got to sit at a table with one actor. I'm not a very outgoing person, and miserably shy but the whole show had me laughing. I honestly was on the verge of letting go of all composure at one moment and could have laughed till I cried on the floor. I really haven't laughed much at all in the past couple of years so this was a great relief. Cameron Diaz had to tell Celery Fitzgerald, who is a vegetarian, to relax a little because of Satan's chicken. Yes. That happened.
I want to express a sincere THANK YOU to all in the production team from Bruce to Blade to the Investigators and Miss Pickle, but especially Cameron.
Read the clues and follow along. Some hints will throw you off, but it really comes together.
The food was pretty good. Satan's chicken was cooked and seasoned well. The mashed potatoes are great. Go early enough to fill up on handmade potato chips.
I can do without the racist running the show. I wouldn't have even left a review but man that just bothered me. Not even there for a minute and the guy running the show is telling racist jokes to me, my wife and 2 employees at the desk.
As far as the show goes we had fun at our table just laughing at how bad it was.
If you like racist and bad acting this show is for you. Personally I hope they never see another dollar. Here I thought in this day and age racism was dead. Guess I was wrong.
