The Funky Door Bistro & Wine Room, Lubbock TX

Not happy at all about the change on the dish with the duck the only reason why I used to even come here.

I have to say this one of the best restaurant I visited in 2021 if your in Lubbock it’s a Most you visit and enjoy the great food and music for a great price. With amazing Service

The food was not at all worth the price. Drinks were good, we had a reservation which we were on time for and when we were seated, the hostess told us they had another reservation behind us so we had two hours to finish. No one has ever said that to me in my life. Our server disappeared for 20 minutes, the seafood mixed grill was an unidentified collection of strange chunks, the calamari was covered in goat cheese and tomatoes which made no sense, and the chicken piccata was awful. The Kobe burger was good though.

Food and music were great. Waitress with glasses not so much. She was a 2 acting like a 10 making snarky comments.

Ate here for the first time with a party of three. Our waiter was Andrew and he was a top notch waiter. The appetizer was a 10/10, but the steak was a 7/10, it cost about $45 but I think it was more of a $25 steak. The cocktails were unique and all 10/10’s. Will definitely come back for cocktails, appetizers and the great service

I think they've gone downhill on the last couple years. Drinks and wine selection are excellent and the apps are good but food is just ok.

I have been to this regularly and hosted big party dinners for events etc… however I had never before before been asked by our server (In the most polite way) as he was serving our entrees to leave by a certain time, 35 minutes after the food was delivered because they had more costumers to serve…

My favorite Restaurant in Lubbock! They have the BEST appetizers definitely recommend the spinach artichoke fondue, and bruschetta. Also have great entrees funky chicken, Cajun chicken pasta… basically everything here is great! Beautiful interior as well! Such a fun place!

Great experience. Food was wonderful. Our server was the absolute best. Made food suggestions which were fabulous. Try the fried pickles and cheese. To die for. Wish there was room for dessert. They looked delicious. There was a small band creating a cozy atmosphere. A truly fun time.

The service was phenomenal. The wait staff, cooking staff, live music, and management were top notch. Our meal took a little bit longer to come out than expected, but our waitress and her manger kept us updated. I had the 8oz filet mignon, and wow, it was perfect. We will definitely be going back.

I have always loved The Funky Door, so on a recent trip to Lubbock I made a reservation on OpenTable. We had one more person joining us than expected, we called The Funky Door several days in advance and asked if they could add 1 person to the party, they agreed but said we would be sitting outside. It was pretty chilly that weekend so we decided sitting outside wasn’t an option and told the hostess “no, thank you. ” I then simply changed my reservation on OpenTable to another night when they had indoor seating availability. Fast forward to the night of reservation… a hostess called and said we would have to sit outside for our reservation. I explained to her that I did everything on OpenTable and requested indoor seating as we had a young child and older parents that would be uncomfortable sitting in the cold. The hostess responded with a comment that I was “lucky” to have this reservation and that she was even calling me to give me a heads up about sitting outside. Horrible customer service. Never an apology nor an attempt to alleviate the situation. Disappointed with how things were handled.

I was very disappointed in the hospitality last night when, as we were being seated, the hostess informed us that there was another reservation for our table at 9: 15. I found it quite odd and offensive since there were several vacant tables the entire time we were there, and they were still vacant when we left at 9: 15. I expected more from an establishment such as this.

Other than the staff let someone take my reservation on my Birthday the food was great. It's a little pricey but I'd go back for a special occasion not every weekend.

Great ambience and excellent service. Fondue was OK, not cooked at the table. Kobe burger was fresh, good bun, but dry patty. Cajun fries so salty my tongue got salt burned. Duck was also quite dry. Squash lasagne was very rich and tasty, but a bit much on the mozzarella. Good live music. Great wine selection. Still, one of the nicer places in Lubbock.

1st time here. Special occasion. Just a wonderful atmosphere and a pleasant surprise. The food was phenomenal and extremely well run

Amazing service! We had a great experience with Landry, who was very knowledgeable. The restaurant had tasty food with large portions, incredible wine selection.
