The Golden Rule reviews
18This is by far my favorite place in downtown Georgetown and the place I would take friends or family if I wanted to leave them with a good impression of the square.
Service was really friendly and the cocktails were all thoughtful and delicious. Get the riblets!
Incredibly inviting inside or outside. The food is impressive and the service has always been top notch. Definitely recommend brisket fries.
Horrible customer service. I booked a reservation with them a month in advance, so I call to confirm my reservation as the day gets closer, then I’m told I’m not on the list when I have emails of communicating with Ryan the event planner. The reason they took my reservation off their list is because they decided to close last minute at 4pm for the Super Bowl, my reservation is at 5: 30pm. Disappointed. They would’ve never told me if I would have never called.
My brunch companions and I were not impressed with our overall experience and all agreed we would not return here to eat, but might possibly stop in for a drink.
Positives:
My companions liked the sweet and spicy shrimp plate above all else.
The kitchen will sub out items on the plates.
Negatives:
Sweets, meats and spicy foods – that is ALL their brunch menu is. If you don’t want any of these, do not come here for brunch. They do not offer their extended menu selection on a brunch day. I was stuck with eggs and a side of toast. There was no other option.
The Chilaquiles is basically a chips and salsa dish, and the salsa tasted like a cheap store bought.
We were 2 couples and each person ordered something different because everything sounded so good. The Redfish, Fried chicken, Filet mignon, and Goulash were all delicious
Our waiter Linden was a blast to meet. He knew everything about bourbon. We had a really fun time and can’t wait to go back
This was recommended to me by the check-in staff at the local Sheraton hotel. Needless to say, I was not disappointed! Not only was the service absolutely amazing. But they also have amazing drinks, and my dinner was absolutely delicious. I had the Chilean sea bass with risotto and I almost finished all of my food, which I never do lol.
Really sweet spot here! I came here for coffee but ended up with a yummy apple mocktail great service and atmosphere! Super warm by the fire.i got here around 11: 30 to do some work, and by 1 it was packed! Def stop by for a good time check out ig @ embarkaustin for more daily local adventures ️
Boy I was pleasantly surprised. The brussels 9.6 I could have eaten another bowl. The steak frites (truffle sauce) golly i’d package it up and take it home if I could. The mussels and shrimp quite literally could not recommend more. It slayed.
This place is a gem. Excellent menu with high quality ingredients and expert execution of their dishes. Wine and beer selections are well curated and vast. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. The staff are always professional and attentive. Great spot for brunch, date night, or a group dinner. My favorite place to sit is the patio when the weather permits. Try the Riblets, Fried Quail, and Short Rib. Keep up the good work y'all!
Don't expect to get in and out very fast. Had to wait over an hour for a table. The riblet appetizer was really good, but the red-fish plate was disappointing, they could've served catfish for all I knew, could only taste the dry rub, bbq, and tomatillo
It is quently located in downtown Georgetown. It is a great time for some food and drinks of your choice
Not a lot of vegetarian options, although it isn'ta vegetarian destination. Brussel Sprouts were pretty good.
Kai was our server and he was absolutely amazing. Thanks so much Kai for making us feel at feel welcome!
We just went to have drinks for our 30 anniversary & the bartenders were too busy talking to wait on us so experience was not good. Guess Mondays aren’t good
This is not a 4 or 5 star Resturant not even a 3 star! My friends and I came out last night and they couldn’t even make a Cesar salad with chicken fresh. The Romain tasted like dirt I didn’t finish it. Our waitress was so back I gave her a dollar and that’s because I felt sorry for her. It took this place and hour to make a chicken Cesar salad which had no cheese which it is known to come on the salad. My friends waited 1.5 hours for a drink. I also ordered the shrimp which I’m allergic to onions and nothing on their menu stated it had onions. I should have eaten the shrimp I’d own that place. Straight trash will never go back there again. Horrible service, horrible food, seems like only those that are drunk enjoyed the atmosphere. And we were seated next to the bathroom and the restroom was not clean you guys need to do better! It might be the fact that I am used to actual 5 star restaurants too. So garbage food is not my forte! God bless
Went for a work Christmas party and the appetizers were delicious. All the drinks looks yummy too. It's pricey though, that's the only downfall.
Mixed opinion, possibly would try again & also maybe not. Ordered queso which came out quick, we weren’t offered water or anything while we waited over 10 mins for our drinks. My queso was cold by the time I got my drinks. We decided to just close out. For it to be slow with 3 people behind the bar drinks shouldn’t have taken so long. The drink was delicious and my husband said the queso was great when it was warm. Would try again if someone was asking us to join them here but probably wouldn’t opt to coming on our own. Everyone around us looks irritated and annoyed because bar is getting all the attention and service while us tables just wait for one drink.
