The Grove, Houston TX

We had our wedding on the 2nd floor of The Grove in March 2022. We have very mixed feelings about our experience.

We fell in love with the space the second we saw it. The venue is stunning and the open concept with all of the trees is exactly what we wanted! The food is amazing. However the customer service was extremely lacking. If it wasn’t for the location and building itself we would have never put up with the customer service.

We were given wrong information on headcount, floor plans, etc from the first time we went until a few weeks before our event. The information on their website doesn’t match what we were told and we got different information from each person we spoke with. We actually decided to pass on The Grove for this reason (even though we loved the space) but reconsidered once we started to work with a planner who was able to get information for us from her past events there. We would have never been able to successfully coordinate with their team without our planner - and it was difficult for her.

They do not offer a food tasting even though your entire fee is for food and alcohol- we will say though the food is amazing! But it would have been nice to be able to try it before hand. We went a few times on our own for dinner to get a sense of the food and we always loved what we tried so that made us comfortable having the event there without a tasting. Even though the dinner menu is not the same as the catering menu it would have gone a long way to even offer us one complementary dinner at the restaurant to try the food.

After booking we were only allowed one 20 min walk through of the space during our entire planning process…. We took off work to be there and the manager who confirmed the meeting the day before wasn’t even there! And she did not notify anyone of our meeting so no one was prepared to cover for her. It was really disappointing.

Our wedding was amazing thanks to our planner and our other vendors! We had a great time but we wished that we had seen an honest review warning us of the pitfalls of the venue.

Upscale restaurant in downtown Houston. When we went, the quail was not available. We had looked at the menu beforehand and decided the quality to price ratio was not great, so we elected to eat elsewhere before meeting friends for dinner. The service was good. There is no food provided for the table (bread is per order).

We chose to dine at The Grove to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary. We have been to many excellent restaurants in many countries with excellent food and wine. And the food at The Grove was just right and the wine was perfect. The view from the floor to ceiling windows was gorgeous. But what made our experience more special than we had expected was the staff. The manager, Daniel, went the extra mile to make sure everything was perfect. We felt we were being cared for by good friends. We are looking forward to 35 more years of celebrations (yeah - count beyond 100 for that!). And we are sure at least some of those celebrations will be at The Grove.

Excellent food and service! Roark provided excellent customer care by checking to make sure our group's needs were met.

Always loved this place, food is delicious and staff is so attentive and aware of our needs. And the chips kept coming!

Our server Simone (like Nina) was pleasant and thorough! We enjoyed our time with her! We really liked the Kale Ceasar salad and the Blue Crab Fritters. For entrees we had the braised short ribs and the blackened redfish. They were ok and taste pretty good, but not the favorite parts of our meal. We ended with the Gelato trio and they all were really tasty! I had the white sangria for a drink!

Attended a private event that rented out the whole 2nd floor. Great place, wonderful views, probably out of my price range, but truly enjoyed the event.

This is a nice place to pop in for a drink. The bartenders were very nice and attentive. The atmosphere was very laid back. We enjoyed our date here.

My co workers and I will be on a business trip to TX and we were looking for a unique venue to celebrate. However after hearing about the staff not being so nice/friendly to the LGBT community we have changed our mind and will take our business elsewhere!

Had been working there through an Agency for the past 3yrs. Came in to work last night, with a bag of food (unopened) from another restaurant and Jody Fiess canceled my shift, because that was deemed “unprofessional “. Will never work or eat here again.

The Grove: an apparent fabulous staff of excellence. Ever aspect & facet of the event was absolutely the most beautiful and quite elegant, to say the least. Everyone had a wonderful time in a beautiful atmosphere!

The food was decent, but management made me feel uncomfortable and I did not appreciate that. Would not go back again.

Kind and attentive staff. Food was very fresh - one of the best burgers I’ve eaten! We’re already planning our return.

We had an amazing time with our group of ladies tonight. Service was good. Some of the appetizers weren’t super great, but the entrees were on point.

We totally loved the location and outside decor. The weather was lovely, the outdoor seating area was perfect for after dinner chats. The ambience is good here.

Spoke to Jody Fiess about his behavior making me uncomfortable and instead of taking accountability proceeded to gaslight me and continue the behavior and made it difficult for me to be at ease. Food is subpar.

Good place for an event. Well located at Discovery Green and handsome space. The service at a recent reception was upbeat and the hors d'oeuvre offerings were quite good. The bar closed earlier than it should have, leaving money on the table.

This place is always on point. Roark is super professional and easy going. Very attentive staff and the food and drinks are spectacular.

The place is beautiful but they are a little over priced. I ordered the Crab Mac and Cheese for 40 dollars. It was okay but nothing to rave about and definitely not worth the price. However, the bartender was a young lady.sorry I can't remember her name but my boyfriend and I really enjoyed how she made our drinks a lemon drop and long Island.
