Cool spot on the West Side in El Paso! Great cocktails, burgers and a nice selection of beer!

service wasn't checking on tables often enough, but got the job done.

Great selection of beers is the reason to go here, but the food & atmosphere is even better. The staff is always friendly and welcoming.

I can't get over how the waitress struggled to customize a burger. Yes, I understand that they have specialty burgers. But not everyone in the party likes to try new things.literally asked for just a bacon cheeseburger and was charged more. Smh. Her mind seemed to be blown from the thought of a regular burger

Amazing beer selection, also huge selection of tequila and liquor. Food was very good, far better than most bar food. Bartender is very friendly. Patio is dog friendly, but we haven’t taken the pup yet. We’ve already been twice (and we’ve been in El Paso less than two weeks).

First time here, really good experience. Many craft beers to choose from although I only tried one kind. Celine was our waitress and she was great! Definitely coming back for another round.

Great gastro pub with a very nice beer selection. I would definitely recommend visiting The Hoppy Monk while you are in El Paso. The gochujang cauliflower "wings" were seriously tasty and my beers were a perfect fit for my food selection. Pay this place a visit!

Absolutely stellar. Great music, fantastic food, tried one of the best beers I've ever had. On top of that, the service was top notch. So friendly, accommodating, and personable. I wish there were a place so special in my home town: ')

I recently moved here and am looking for establishments to spend my free time. I was excited to try The Hoppy Monk. I walked in and sat at the bar and noticed the impressive selection of brews and liquors, so I asked the bartender for his recommendation on something to drink.

"Uhhh. IPAs? " was his response and he went back to cleaning. No house favorites, or explanations of featured drinks. Now, I've been working in the service industry for nearly fifteen years, and I know that recommendations and upselling goes a LONG way. If I've never been to an establishment, I always ask for a recommendation and will typically take it.

So, when I placed my drink and food order, I asked for the Pineapple Ahumada (SP) ? And the Blue Fox Burger. He didn't acknowledge the order, so I double-checked to see if he understood what drink I was ordering because I BUTCHERED the pronunciation.

I asked for a taster of the Melted Cookie Dough brew. He started to ring it in and then seemed irritated when I asked if there was a charge for it. (Some places charge, some don't, I get that) I cancelled the taster order because of his attitude, but I would have been more inclined to follow through if he had been forthcoming or gone into detail about charges.

My drink was delicious, however, an order of empanadas came out during my meal.because he said he thought I asked for empanadas when I was asking for the drink order, which is why I double checked because he didn't repeat the order back to me.

Nonetheless, I told him that I wasn't going to eat it, which prompted a swift removal of the empanadas and an irritated sigh. I felt super un-welcomed and I was ready to leave after that. He also seemed to be frustrated with the other patrons closing out/ordering at the bar.

Although there was minimal concerns for checking back, the burger had great flavor, the aioli was superb, and the presentation was gorgeous.

I think next time, I'll just sit somewhere else, or come back during the day. I get we wanna go home when it's later in the evening, but it was nearly two hours before close when I showed up, and not busy at all.

Props the other bartender/bar back for having an endearing personality and checking back on me. That's why I'm leaving two starts for service.

I came here to celebrate my friend's birthday because he wanted to try a lot of the beers. The alcohol selection was great. The atmosphere interior was really cold which was wonderful on a hot day. Or you could sit outside on the patio and it was shaded at sunset.
I think the food is overpriced however, it does have a twist to everything. I had the Blue Fox Burger which had blue cheese in it and a sweet poached pear slice. It was a very good combination. The portion size was appropriate, but not value. The burger was small, but the quality of ingredients and pairing of savory sweet was spot on. I wanted to get dessert but I could not justify spending $9 on a small piece of cheesecake even though it was homemade. The French fries with the burger were not plentiful. Again it is an appropriate serving size, but we all kind of want value in a meal.
The atmosphere did feel pub like. There were only a couple of servers and you had to flag them down but it was no big deal because they were responsive and friendly.
I would recommend trying this place, especially if you like specialty beers, brewing house type stuff.

The chicken sandwich my friend ordered was raw and when i sent it back they told me if i wanted to order another sandwich i would have to be charged for it.they still charged me for the fries that came with my meal and offered me no other compensation other than a sorry.

Nice place we got there and the tables were dirty they clean it the beer's were good food is ok

The food and drinks were great for a great price. Very unique outdoor experience, and our server DeAndre is the epitome of a professional server.

BEST burgers in El Paso!
This is the only bar/restaurant I will make the drive from Las Cruces to enjoy the good beer, burgers and ambience. I have been a customer here since they opened and it was here that I discovered my favorite beer (it was one of their rotators at the time). Hoppy has the best burgers in the area in my opinion with the Bacon & Egg burger being my favorite. The kitchen is consistent in quality and taste of the food. The matcha Brussels sprouts are also amazing. They have a very large selection of beer too which is nice for someone like me who can rarely find a good stout year-round.

The staff is always great and there has never been a long wait for food. My only complaint is that smoking is allowed in the outdoor dining area. I feel that restricting smoking in that area would make the patio a perfect place to enjoy a burger and beer while enjoying El Paso's glorious summer evenings.

The fish and chips are great. The best I have had in a very long time! Can't wait to go again and try different things.

Round 2 - food is great!

Great service, nice and clean. Friendly staff and plenty of seating options including a spacious outdoor area. Cooks were not able to properly fry an egg after two attempts (clear runny egg whites *raw*). Coffee not brewed at proper temp, comes out like battery acid.

Overall I will definitely be back, but I won't be ordering coffee or eggs. Their breakfast sandwich was delicious.

The size of the burger is significantly smaller now but still tastes delicious! We edited for about 15 minutes to be approached by the waitress. I had to go to them and ask them if they could take our order.
