The Hospital at Westlake Medical Center, West Lake Hills TX

I have nothing but great things to say about this hospital. They were efficient. They were kind and they were jovial in an appropriate way. Being at the hospital is always stressful, but not here. They have terrific bedside manner while doing their job. They put you at ease.

Will never use this hospital again! Horrible experience!

You respond to my review saying to message you with contact information but where do I do that? I have called all the numbers I have been given and I have left probably 15 voicemails with different people at the hospital and the business office. No one returns my calls. We are owed $2400 back from money we paid back in June for a surgery. The law says a hospital have 30 days to return money if the patient over pays after the claim is filed and our claim went through in July. It’s been almost 60 days and no contact from anyone on why we haven’t received a return. I have only actually talked to one particular lady twice in the last three months and that was when she answered the phone when I was transferred to billing. She told me back at the end of July that I would have a check within 30 days. I called her on September 14th after leaving several voicemails and not having anyone return them and I got a hold of her and she told me she still had to get approval from somebody else even though it had been 45 days since I talk to her in July. She said the amount of the return was too much and she had to go above other people to get the approval. If the amount is so much then why should I have to wait 60+ days to get my money back? Something is not right with this whole situation!

My husband had surgery here a few weeks ago. We've never had an experience like this. Usually after the surgery, hospitals/surgery centers always invite the spouse back to be with their loved one during recovery. They told me I was not allowed back. I didn't get to see him until he was being wheeled out to the car. No one told us what medication they had given him and what time so we had no idea when we were supposed to do his next round of pain killers. No one had called in the pain medication either so we had to deal with that as quickly as possible. The surgery center never called him either to check on him which is really shocking because we've had many surgeries in our lifetime.

I loved the brief stay, as I expected to stay overnight after my surgery, but was discharged soon after my procedure by my doctor. The staff treated me extremely well that is why I give the 5 stars.

From check in to check out, I had a wonderful experience at The Hospital at Westlake Medical Center. You really find out about a place of business when there's an issue. I arrived at 6am for my surgery and they couldn't find me on the schedule! Turns out there was a mix up with my surgeon's office and they actually never got me scheduled. I had traveled from out of town for the surgery so this was a big deal. The check in people were trying to do all they could to figure out how to help me. Then the head nursing manager came out to help me as well. They all worked so well together as a team to get me on the schedule for first thing the next day and get me registered in their system. I felt cared about and heard. The next day I arrived again bright and early for surgery. The Preop/OR team was excellent as well as everyone who took care of me during my overnight postop stay. I cannot recommend this hospital enough.

The facilities at Westlake Medical Center were excellent and the staff was fabulous. My only complaint is that they did not supply very good directions on how to find the entrance for surgery. We parked in the garage as directed but there was no sign that said how to get in. We walked up the ramp and found a door with a buzzer and we were let it but the person there did not know how to tell us which way to go. She did contact someone who then walked us most of the way to the other side of the building to find the check-in desk we needed.

Everyone that I encounter were amazing. Made everything from getting set up before being taking back to the aftercare…. So easy and not stressful at all.

The best care I have ever received anywhere! The staff was so friendly and helpful! If I needed them they were right there! The building was very well kept and so clean. It made the pain from the surgery easier to handle!

They literally saved my life! I have absolutely nothing but great things to say about the entire staff here. This last May I came here after another hospital recommended I go home, but I insisted I be transferred someplace else. From the moment we walked in I was treated with the most care and compassion ever. The nurses here were incredibly kind and sweet, especially a particular gentleman that I unfortunately did not catch his name. They took my blood pressure which the other ER failed to do. My blood pressure was through the roof! The doctor looked over the images from the previous hospital and found that I had a dissected vertebral artery-a life threatening event. They worked hard to get my blood pressure down and make sure I didn't have a stroke while they got an ambulance together to transfer me downtown to St. David's main with the specialists I needed to save my life. If it wasn't for everyone here catching what the previous hospital missed, I would not be alive today. I am forever grateful and this will be my first stop any time I have an emergency!

Extremely kind and caring nurses + doctors. It was my first surgery so I was very nervous, but the nurses were so sweet to me. Highly recommend.

Nursing and admin staff were extremely professional, pleasant and attentive. They made me as comfortable as possible while recovering from my shoulder replacement surgery, which is not an easy thing. I am grateful to each and every one of them.

I felt like I was back in the 60's. Very dated and not up to speed on new technologies. When I first got there, they were extremely unorganized and unprofessional. Stuck me back in a corner in a bed next to the medicine dispensing machine. I had to have a CT scan with contrast. The lady who did it reeked of cigarette smoke and shook extremely bad. Made me feel very uneasy. Also when you are in a hospital or ER, and you may feel nauseas, the last thing you want to smell is a strong smell of cigarette smoke. The Dr.came in and immediately wanted to give me morphine. I didn't need it. Had to talk him out of it. He said you hurt, that's why you are in here, right. I said I hurt some but didn't need pain meds. I was in there for a diverticulitis flare up. The one girl who came in and took blood, dug all over in my veins.not pleasant. I would NOT go there again. I did like the male nurse. He was pretty much the only one I really trusted in there.

If I had a choice the only hospital in Austin or surrounding towns I would stay in would be The Hospital at Westlake Medical Center. I have stayed in Seton and St. David's hospitals in this area. The Hospital at Westlake outshines them both. The staff are above and beyond. Always cheerful, helpful and knowledgeable about you as an individual. Things are always on time and move along at a nice steady pace to get thru your surgery and then the stay and get you home in a timely and happy manner. You are the best Westlake Hospital!

They did a phenomenal job! Very kind and calming people. I only wish I had more time in recovery.

All of the nurses/doctors took care if me so well. Everyone had a good attitude and had no problem assisting me. I specifically loved a nurse named Chip! He took care of me my first night after surgery and he was amazing, had great humor and was super comforting.

Went in for minor skin tear as minor emergency was closed on sunday.got immediate and excellent care and as always, was very pleased with the experience.

I had a great experience. Everybody was so nice. The care that I received was top notch Chip my nurse was amazing along with Tinna the other nurse. Eduardo the weekend cook did everything in his power to make sure I received all my meals and was ready for three next coming up. Everything was great. Thank y’all so much for everything

I had an excellent experience with hospital staff. Staff was very friendly and personable. Nurses were fun to talk to with excellent bedside manner that put my nervousness at ease. They seemed to do a great job supporting my surgeon. The whole experience felt seamless.
